    This scene was one of those that I didn’t forget like the gas station talk in Evan. Crockett deals with the regret of not doing something he felt was right but it rings truer to me because during my high-school and college years it wasn’t uncommon to hear such stories.
    Another one is in Little Prince where Tubbs explains why Mark Jr. does drugs and why it is different from people who did it in the Bronx. These scenes made Crockett and Tubbs more human and relatable to me.

    Tough to find a show that was more influential in both fashion/music/visuals & script like Miami Vice in the 80's. Great time & memories!

    Tubbs' reaction at the end was the best part that scene.

    I'm familiar with this episode, always made me wonder just how many men out there could probably tell some kind of similar story! Another powerful episode.......Miami Vice Forever!

    This scene totally exemplifies why Jan Hammer was essentially a cast member. DJ and PMT are both great here, but try to imagine Crockett’s story with no music. 😎

      That's the first thing i thought of...who wrote the music Hammer or Truman. The music perfectly compliments the scene. And also the beautiful night backdrop in Miami.

      Totally agree. Jan Hammer was just as important to the greatness of this show as any member of the cast.

    Please keep it up, "MIAMI VICE" must NEVER be forgotten - it WAS cult, IS cult and WILL always remain cult! It's a way of life, and only those who experienced it back then (like me) can really understand it.

      even though DJ is getting a little too rough in his acting with PMT throughout the seasons. In this scene you can notice that in comparison with the gas station scene in "Evan", where the two partners have a conversation about a similar topic. There's quite a noticeable difference in his character performance as Sonny Crockett here and there.

    One of the best episodes of the entire series. In German TV this scene was shortened becaues of the former German TV scedule where there were no commercial breaks. Each episode must have had a length of a 43 Minutes so the story of the girl told by Crockett was cut out. We only saw Tubbs coming to the St. Vitus Dance and asking Sonny why he is so concerned about the case. Then Sonny explains the details of the screenshots and asked this last question regarding the experience of Castillo, Tubbs and him.

    Death And The Lady. This is the best episode for me from Miami Vice. Very dark and moody. Jan Hammer's best score really makes a huge difference. Classic and Epic (from 976-CREOLEMAN)!

    _Don't know about you, but the entire five seasons of the show are still favored. The show was growing through season 1 with great writing and character development, then season 2, and 3 just got better and better. And yes as the show progressed into the final two seasons the ratings may have dropped, but it was still 'Miami Vice'._

  • @jasonmorgan8110
    @jasonmorgan8110 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This is the very reason why season 4 doesn't deserve the sheep like negative internet comments. If you take the 2 or 3 bad episodes out it's a season that's just as great as the previous 3. There are 2 or 3 bad episodes seasons 1 through 3 also. It's just as good

    • @PB...
      @PB... 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Wow, everything is said; you managed to say exactly what I was thinking. I am no longer capable of people who invalidate the whole season for a few less good episodes. If these same criticized seasons had been shot for the first season, people would say it was great. In fact, there were probably more bad episodes in the first seasons than the last ones, seriously.

      @@PB... I know! YOU ARE 100% CORRECT! I hate to be this way, and I know that I sound snobby, but if you were alive back then you would know better. The thing that I keep hearing in every review is the ratings dropped because of 3 and 4. I was there and I'm telling you that this show was probably MORE POPULAR during seasons 3-5. WHO CARES ABOUT SEASON 3 NOT HAVING PASTELS!? NOBODY CARES! Johnson wore cool clothes in season 3 too and drove a cooler car! The show grew darker which was a natural progression that fit the show!!!! I LOVE 3 4 AND 5!

    • @PB...
      @PB... 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to admit that season 3 was a bit long, it was not as strong emotionally and in terms of stylization of violence (maybe because Michael Mann was less present as a producer during this season). Yes, there were some very good episodes in season 3, but from season 4 onwards, the perfection became more regular, as delicious as the first seasons, if not better
