While it is Admirable that Yuuri that has attempted an English Rendition of this song and put it out there, Unfortunately not being a native english speaker has not done this version justice. This song has a wonderful melody and the japanese version better conveys the emotion of the song even if you don't even understand The lyrics .This not his fault, If native English speaking singers tried singing Japanese Pop songs they would suck too . He is not the first Japanese singer to record english versions of his songs, just think Radwimps and YOASOBI but Japanese singers don't need to sing english versions of thier songs to validate themselves to western audiences. It would have been better to given this song to a native english singer and some better song writers who could work with the melody to really produce a hit for western audiences. That way this version would have found an audience which would have lead back to his japanese version.
Actually I think it has to do more with the fact he really likes to sing in English as well !! If you check his Instagram he’s been trying to cover many songs in English before releasing DORAI FURAWA- , and I think even until now he hasn’t found out his songs are pretty popular in many countries outside Japan 🥺🤍 hope he gets to know so that he starts seeing foreign countries as an option too ! I love his songs but lucky me I live in Japan but those who can’t see him live because they don’t live here we’ll be so happy 🥺🤍
