"Teams Push Faster" is bang on. This is rampant below gm im pretty sure. As someone below diamond, some players generally get cold feet when the pressure's on and some rise to the occasion. When this happens at the same time you get the huge inequity between the two teams. One team that is throttling their potential and the other is actualizing their potential at the same time.
Bogur literally proved the fact you can get not quite stuck but stuck enough at a rank that the relative climb vs a fresh account is unfeasible. He literally quit on his first lifeweaver for that reason.
Its stupid that everyone dissmisses moiras dmg saying its low. When she has the sustain to last long enough to kill you. Her fade and ball make it harder to get away too.
17:48 It's likely because of the overtime respawns. It wasn't mentioned, but the times where it ends quickly the defending team just wins or there is barely any OT push, but the times it happens the attacking team is successfully pushing in OT which means less fights for the defenders, especially if there are some stagger kills.
19:12 It reminds me of those 2CP days in Hanamura, Anubis, etc. People could poke, stagger, sit at the choke point like morons.. but yet during the very final push, they can feel insanely coordinated because they all know they need to push the objective at the same time. Then if you're on defense, you get tilted super fast because you went from almost a full hold to losing A and B in a matter of seconds.
Quick melee is insanely good right now which is a good thing for Moira. I think avg playerbase are sleeping on global melee buff as a finisher/ammo-saver. As Lucio, the melee serves me very well and weaving those into CQC scenarios instead of ammo boosts your uptime big time.
Disagree about the MMR, a buddy and I were both plat before the 'soft reset', I went 1-8-1 and got plat 5, he went 8-1-1 and got plat 5. I postulate that the MMR system has had no reset and the actual SR is an account average and has little to do with recent play. the amount of MMR gained for a win/loss is not consistent and all of the factors that were supposed to show MMR factors are not present. I even argue that seeing the % change each rank makes little sense, the dev team should just make the formula clear for all to see plain as day to stop any speculation, but based on past instances where people were litterally stuck in ranks which got fixed in the patch notes I do not think they even understand it.
I played ranked placements with 2 other people this season. 1 guy has been playing ranked the last couple seasons. Me and the other guy had taken a break for a couple seasons. We are all the same skill level (I promise you that) but the guy who played ranked much more consistently got platinum 3 after placement. Me and the other guy got gold 5-4 after placement. It became very obvious to all 3 of us that something was going on. I’m shocked to see it’s apparently not confirmed by devs. Edit. We lost 2 placement matches, won the rest.
@6:33 ana, and all supps, are worth learning. even if right now you just stick to qp with ana, she has always been extremely fun & rewarding to play and she can always have a comeback in future patches.
I'm not going to lie, the high hour account thing is pretty true. As a QP warrior who hasn't played more ranked than to get 1 gold weapon many seasons ago, I am predicted silver on my main with no Ls, which pissed me off. It's not giving me the opportunity to play in higher lobbies at all so far in my first 10 games. I have played 30 hours in comp on my alt with a couple Ls, but my first predicted was plat 5, and i ended in diamond 5, and I am currently in masters 4. Wtf is this? I'm dominating these lobbies but still low ranked on my main, and everyone is talking about how important the first 10 are.
For the first question it's actually better to run moria than bap in this patch. In the Twisted minds vs Falcons scrim, slay swapped off bap to Moria to match Falcon's moria lucio backline. Also lots of moria is being used in general in Korea.
23:35 I think this post was being misunderstood. That post seems more about that they feel like as support you don't really have that much impact anymore... so it feels like you're at the mercy of your DPS actually being able to do their job.
on the MMR take I am hearing about it a bit and also experiencing the same thing first hand, currently doing it intentionally as an experiment, as my main account was hard stuck B5 regardless of my performance and while on some roles i could get out of it it only took sometimes a single loss to fall back after months of grind, I even had a diamond friend try while he was over for the weekend and after a 25-0 win streak he was surprised how little impact it had. it also meant the "reset" as it still based of existing MMR meant I was still stuck there for placement matches. despite improving. with a 60% win rate i placed B3 which is nice, moving onto a new account and just unlocked PVP and finishing placements I'm G2, while i understand the volatility of the new account wins give me 8%+ in gains while a loss is only -4%. my current conclusion is that the more data it has it wants to keep you where you are, but it also requires far, far more to get any gains. more that is worth your time or that keeps up with your rate of improvement. which impacts psychologically. more so it punishes you far more for a loss, the more hours you put in. So far my conclusion is that if you think you are hard stuck, make a new account and find out, because it its where your meant to be your new account should put you back there eventually. I deally if Blizz intend to reset rank each year, the MMR for placements at least should be reset to a degree perhaps only drawing data from the previous season not account lifetime.
Ana middle of the pack is crazy. As long as she has anti nade to turn off the tank role she's top. Nothing else in the game has as insane value as made. It's better than most ults for God's sake.
If i had to give my 2 cents about the plateau question,, avoid the “autopilot” moments, which is obviously pretty hard haha Like KarQ said,, be proactive, always have a plan and always do something
Thinking that something is more prevalent than it is because its easier to remember cases where it happened than when it didn't is called the availability heuristic
I've played so much Comp with this patch. Lucio is my main and being able usher people out of danger and boop further, instead of having to heal is great. 75%+ speed per game feels great.
14:53 I have the same issue. My original account from the launch of OW1 is MAX gold. I've got 2 alts I've been playing regularly as well in the past couple of years, and im high plat/low diamond. I usually place high plat and climb to diamond, and have peaked in low masters. My "main" account is hard stuck. I know, I know. ELO hell isn't real.... But 7 years of MMR data is. Also, with the reset, I placed in bronze 3, and immediately climbed to gold 2, and my gains slowed to 3 or 4 points for a win, and -15 to 20 for a loss. On my alt, I ranked plat4 and climbed to diamond 2 immediately. They didn't reset MMR. They reset SR.
In regards to pushing the payload faster during additional rounds, I think it's equal parts defense playing worse from nerves and offense playing better as a result of committing more due to the limited time. When you have 3 minutes on the clock offense is more keen to sit around and poke and get picked off rather than coordinate and attack together.
I think the reason lucio is so good is how brawly he is. Its not just that hes good at peeling, its that hes stronger at securing flanks and brawling against opposing dive on flanks than brig.
I've played about 10 games since the season started, and it's wild how toxic people are in like silver lmao. I've never been below plat in OW2 and honestly didnt know just how annoying people are in lower ranks. You think it would be the opposite but no. The minute we lose a fight, theres always a support who starts blaming everyone on the team. Anyone having a similar experience to me after months of chill teammates? lmao. I have been playing pretty late given my work schedule, but thats how its always been.
@yoku_UwU I would say that overall there is an atmosphere that is more sincere but there are still toxic people, it circulates throughout all levels of the game
In the Ana vs Tracer discussion, KarQ didn't mention that although Tracer received an additional 25 HP, Ana also received an extra 50 HP. Also the bigger hitboxes although they make it easier for Tracer to land shots on Ana, it's also true vice versa which is significant of course since landing shots on Tracer is more difficult than most characters. Previously when Tracer had 150 HP, Ana needed 2 shots and a melee (70x2 + 30 = 170) or 2 shots and the grenade (70x2 + 60 = 200) to kill Tracer or 3 shots (70x3 = 210). With Tracer at 175 HP, Ana only lost the 2 shots+melee. Compared to most characters moving from 200 HP to 250 HP (3 shots to kill moving to 4 shots), Tracer's breakpoints didn't change as much. Although imo Ana vs Tracer is still Tracer favored, I think when discussing the Season 9 changes, it's important to note that the changes weren't all entirely one-sided in this specific matchup
3:20 I'm gonna call bullshit on that, I don't think anyone whos a "high masters low gm" player is confused about why lucio zen is good. Someone's lying
Every time I say Moira is OP, people rush to tell me I’m not good enough. But when the best players in the world are swapping to her because of her survivability and increased damage, I ask, how much better than top 500 do I have be for this brainless hero to not be good?
Ram is a fun character I usually use my ultimate like this.. Pop shield up in a fight Use fists until cooldown ( if I can ) Pop shield again Than ult Also always be constantly moving and jumping around OW has no movement penalty so as long as you can aim you’ll still hit your shots.
I think the 5th question could be answered in terms of complexity, not difficulty. Longer fights and matches allow for more things to happen, more interactions to consider. The game does feel different and more difficult but in the end it's because it got more complex, it will take some time to get accustomed but it's still OW2 mechanics, but aiming became easier and killing is harder.
How is 75 dps on a 250 hp target "mathematically better" than 60 dps on a 200 hp target? You just made both numbers 25% larger, the ratio is exactly the same.
Can we get a chart with a before and after of the buffs (without the adjustments made after the buffs) of the projectile sizes? I feel like Soldier and Widow got reverted to pre-buff.
i still get tanks, for some reason primarily dvas, who will jump into the whole enemy team spamming "i need healing" and just get deleted and then they get mad at the healers, it's like, dude i can't heal you you went 1v5 and healing is nerfed
1:50 so is my math wrong or 60 dps on 200 hp targets and 75 dps on 250 hp targets is exactly the same? 200/60 = 250/75. Sooo do overwatch not know math or did I understand the numbers wrong or something?
I attribute me dragging my account out of the depths of dispare 5 to KarQ and Emongg now my main account matches my alt accounts time to keep going up just focusing on my own improvement.
season 9 ranks has indeed been weird, in season 8, i stood in silver 4-1 up until the last week where i jumped from silver 1 to gold 4 in a single rank update. Then season 9 started and i placed gold 3?? played for a week and reached gold 1 and almost plat. After that i started losing many games and dropped back to gold 3 on my way for gold 4. dont know whats going on but its not stable
I don't like running with zen at all. Because the accuracy is higher plus damage debuff you need to rely on healing more. And by the time Zen heal is useful than your passive comes up.
1k hour master ana main here and it's actually heartbreaking that I cant play my main this season. I am enjoying bap and zen right now. Ana just doesn't feel right this season... Ana needs a serious buff. We don't want or need ana meta but she needs to be at least A tier.
Ana is still playable, just gotta adapt the playstyle a bit from past season’s ‘focusing to landing agressive nades and pressure with your no falloff hitscan shots’ to now ‘playing more passive, use nades for extra heal more and farm nano’
@@bradmiles1984 debatable and even if that was the case being third worst is not bad lol try playing an actually bad hero for once instead of crutching on the ones that are OP for 90% of the game’s lifespan
question: how can I discover which dps hero could be my "main"? I mean Im support main but somethimes I queue for dps role and it looks like Im playing mystery heroes lol :(
It's better because no other heroes actually got an increase to their damage values. It's easier to land hits, but the hits don't do more damage than before. So her ttk is the same as before, but everyone else's got slightly slower, so relatively she is faster.
Yeah, Ana is real bad now. Probably is only number one in pick- and win-rate by 5 or 10 percent now. Don't worry... they'll pretty soon buff her up to again be an ezmode op must-pick ... you know, like the last 7 bloody years. Middle of the pack, my arse. Now that everyone has gotten used to dps not missing any shots, we're back to anti-nade winning almost every battle.
She is the most fun support, and on top of that versatile, that's why she has been the most picked hero for most of OW lifespan, she was the most played hero even during double shield and other bad metas for her. Sadly she is bad now and needs buff, in no world should Moira be better than Ana, I guess they did that for the Battlepass skin.
@@andrealelli7505No, Ana is not "bad", and Moira is not better than her... not even close. Her anti-nade power just wasn't noticed the last couple weeks because every ridiculously big dps bullet (or should I call them beachballs) hits now, and they all apply their own little mini anti-nade. But people are adjusting now, and I notice anti-nade is once again deciding almost every battle. Ana still has and will continue to have the highest pick and win rate, and she will be all over the leaderboards, while Moira will be nowhere to be seen.
@@andrealelli7505dumbest excuse i’ve heard in my life, if she was actually bad it would ruin the fact that she’s the “most fun”. there’s nothing fun about losing every interaction because your character sucks. ana mains are privileged and completely babied by blizzard. try playing an actually bad hero for one season
She is bad now lol, what's the point of me playing a high skill hero when I can just go Moira and turn both my brain and my hands off, the only serious advantage she has now over other supports is range.
@osh2004 KarQ literally said why she is bad now, just rewatch that part. Most of her matchups got completely changed and you need your team way more now, she can still work but she is way, WAY more reliant on her team, and on top of that her nade heals only 48 if dueling a dps. Her strong part was the big burst healing, and that got nerfed this patch. I had no issues dueling genjis and tracer as a GM1 Ana, but now they are tough, especially genjis cuz good movement will save you less since they hit WAY more, you heal less from your nade and they need one more shot to die. They kill you before you can shoot that much. Also, 2 shots + nade + melee is 240 dmg.
@@andrealelli7505 he did not say she is bad, you have never played an actually weak character, please stop pretending like you have. drifting slightly out of the meta for one season is not the same as being weak. the big burst healing was nice but not anywhere near the strongest part of her kit by any metric. anti and sleep are some of the most impactful abilities in the game even among support abilities which are the most game changing of any role. “i had no issues dueling genjis and tracer” - this is overpowered and deserved to be nerfed. you are SUPPOSED to be disadvantaged against heroes like those and need people to peel for you. that is literally supposed to be ana’s main weakness “2 shots + nade + melee only does 240 dmg” - boo hoo. literally everyone’s lethality got worse this update and a lot of burst damage combos are gone or a lot harder to perform. deal with it and adapt like everyone else instead of acting like your character was unfairly targeted
Literally the question about MMR I feel the same. I feel I’ve grown past these bronze lobbies based on how I see the teammates/enemies playing but I can’t get out of it. I had a tank game w/ 30/0/3-18600dmg and the next closest was 8kdmg on my team. I don’t think I’m great but I should at least be high silver 🤣. I feel like all my losses learning how to play the game put me in a hole I won’t escape.
Cuz she's fun, but she is below mid after this patch, she has been the most played hero in overwatch even during double shield or other bad metas for her.

Every time I say Moira is OP, people rush to tell me I’m not good enough. But when the best players in the world are swapping to her because of her survivability and increased damage, I ask, how much better than top 500 do I have be for this brainless hero to not be good?
She's good enough ML swaps to her regularly when the situation calls for it. He used to rarely do that.
Ram is a fun character I usually use my ultimate like this..
Pop shield up in a fight
Use fists until cooldown ( if I can )
Pop shield again
Than ult
Also always be constantly moving and jumping around OW has no movement penalty so as long as you can aim you’ll still hit your shots.
I press on the video while cooking and then I just hear the tekken menu music. Good choice!
How is 75 dps on a 250 hp target "mathematically better" than 60 dps on a 200 hp target? You just made both numbers 25% larger, the ratio is exactly the same.
I think the real point being made is she got a damage buff where most characters didn't so her dps went up relative to the rest of the cast
It’s 65 on 250 hp target. It’s not great
Can we get a chart with a before and after of the buffs (without the adjustments made after the buffs) of the projectile sizes? I feel like Soldier and Widow got reverted to pre-buff.
i still get tanks, for some reason primarily dvas, who will jump into the whole enemy team spamming "i need healing" and just get deleted and then they get mad at the healers, it's like, dude i can't heal you you went 1v5 and healing is nerfed
Great music choice!
60 dps on 200hp is mathematically the same as 75dps on 250hp. 1:56
23:14 *me crying with my 66% win rate on tracer this season but going down 1 tier*
I’m wondering if Moria got stronger and buffs because of the mythic skin.
The Tekken background music🔥
Karq ima be honest that comp reset did nothing
1k hour master ana main here and it's actually heartbreaking that I cant play my main this season. I am enjoying bap and zen right now.
Ana just doesn't feel right this season...
Ana needs a serious buff. We don't want or need ana meta but she needs to be at least A tier.
That tekken bgm tho 👌
Lol i was shocked when i heard it
@@squirrel_76 same lmao
Great video. The background music seemed to be kind of distracting IMO though. Could be turned down or something less distracting.
Currency for golden weapons is obtained only by ranking up in comps? How much time I have to wait to get this currency?
The Tekken 8 BGM is hitting 🔥
I mean, if Moira is meta and Ana is unplayable the balance is upside down right now. I’m sure there’s gonna be tweaks to this soon.
Ana is still playable, just gotta adapt the playstyle a bit from past season’s ‘focusing to landing agressive nades and pressure with your no falloff hitscan shots’ to now ‘playing more passive, use nades for extra heal more and farm nano’
@@hillwoop9101 Anything is playable that doesn't mean it's not bad though.
@@bradmiles1984 ana is not bad at all lol ana mains are so privileged
@kingmoosh2004 she's currently one of the weakest supports, only ones in worse shape this patch are lw and mercy.
@@bradmiles1984 debatable and even if that was the case being third worst is not bad lol try playing an actually bad hero for once instead of crutching on the ones that are OP for 90% of the game’s lifespan
question: how can I discover which dps hero could be my "main"? I mean Im support main but somethimes I queue for dps role and it looks like Im playing mystery heroes lol :(
Love the Tekken 8 music in the background; always picking some of my fav music 👌🏽
60 dps on a 200 hp target is a 3.33s TTK. 75 dps on a 250 target is also a 3.33s TTK. How’s the latter better?
I feel gaslit any time Ana players say she's bad
She is bad now lol, what's the point of me playing a high skill hero when I can just go Moira and turn both my brain and my hands off, the only serious advantage she has now over other supports is range.
@@andrealelli7505sleep dart??? anti??? how are those not serious advantages no other support can do anything like that
@osh2004
KarQ literally said why she is bad now, just rewatch that part.
“i had no issues dueling genjis and tracer” - this is overpowered and deserved to be nerfed. you are SUPPOSED to be disadvantaged against heroes like those and need people to peel for you. that is literally supposed to be ana’s main weakness
“2 shots + nade + melee only does 240 dmg” - boo hoo. literally everyone’s lethality got worse this update and a lot of burst damage combos are gone or a lot harder to perform. deal with it and adapt like everyone else instead of acting like your character was unfairly targeted
Ram ult sucks unless u got a Lucio for speed or Kiriko ult. If u have no Lucio and they do good luck they can just away from your ult range
That Tekken 8 music in the back slapsssss
Literally the question about MMR I feel the same. I feel I’ve grown past these bronze lobbies based on how I see the teammates/enemies playing but I can’t get out of it. I had a tank game w/ 30/0/3-18600dmg and the next closest was 8kdmg on my team. I don’t think I’m great but I should at least be high silver 🤣. I feel like all my losses learning how to play the game put me in a hole I won’t escape.
appreciate the tekken 8 music in the background
The only way to stop a good Genji is a bad Genji
Background music feels a little loud
Yo wtf is this backround music, doesn’t fit at all. Imo the backround track should be some mellow chill music
Is that the Tekken 8 back ground music is hear👀
karq video with tekken BGM??
You keep spreading this misinformation, but Moira's damage was increased from 50 to 65, not 75. The 75 damage buff was for Winston's Tesla Canon.
Daddy chill
Da king is back baby he neva miss
Moira damage .2 faster. The rest of her kit didn't get buffed so she actually got nerfed. DPS Moira was better prior S9.
Ana is still the most played hero by a large margin. Can’t be too bad.
Cuz she's fun, but she is below mid after this patch, she has been the most played hero in overwatch even during double shield or other bad metas for her.
Nade is still the most op button in game
Ana is extremely bad, and the only reason you think she's just mid is because you have good teammates
Yoooo nice to here tekken 8 music in this vid
1:30 Ayo?????? 😳
Yeah, he be down bad sometimes
Shout out to the Tekken music
WHAT IS THIS BACKGROUND MUSIC
It’s the main menu music for Tekken 8
Yo, why you always using Tekken tunes?
I don’t want to come off poorly here…but…..Asia
Plus it’s a wicked good groove
Moira needs a lower range you should have the chance to run out of her range
The tekken music was a great choice😌
Good kitty…
