    I've used your video countless times when introducing people to Dungeon Alchemist -- you really provide the best quick, clear overview of it that I've been able to find. Any chance you'll do a retrospective on how the software has developed since?

      Not a bad idea. This video is fairly dated at this point. Coming back and revisiting it would be nice. I just did some nice maps recently and the software has developed really nicely.

    Thanks for your approach as a beginner user. Those were some good results. So the question is, what's the high end? Can I do multi level isometric map output? If so can it automatically remove certain walls so I can see into the room? How do I make a spike or pit trap? I was a Roll20 guy but I realize I need to be a Foundry guy in the future.

      Lots of good questions some of which I am not the best to answer but let me try. The high end isn't really out yet. They are still adding features. But I have seen people do some crazy cool stuff. You can really play with the software for some great results. Isometric you could probably do but it would take some manipulation on your part. Build it as a top down and then rotate the camera and remove walls to get the view you want. I believe Isometric is a feature they plan to actually plan to support.
      Traps have been suggested as a feature but not implemented yet. I expect to see something at some point. My guess is it would have 2 states so you can take an image of it and make a tile that you could hide and reveal.
      This software would work good with roll20 but foundry is certainly a more feature rich product that would probably do the job better. I highly suggest joining the DA Discord. discord.gg/Wrrmb5YrJa

    I'd love to see you design the bar you had made earlier. Like how you did it...the steps involved

    I'd love to get this but having to pay for this and the premium roll20 in order to use the maps is a bit of a barrier to entry.

      Ya. Another reason I am a fan of Foundry.

    Can't really see the benefit of the 3D unless you have a software to run a game in and move players through the map in 3D. Also be able to toss dice, cards etc... I was wondering though if a finished map can be put in Tabletop simulator. this would be a game changer as it has all the accessories you can add in there. Wish it had more than one role play though. This is only for D&D. I play scifi.

    Do you know if you export for a specific VTT if you can export animated maps? Something like torches flicker or the spitroast in the taven turns.

      As of now no. But it is a planned feature for the future. It is currently not listed on the road map as "in development" though so it may be a little more time before you see it. But the good news is that it is coming!

    I can see some potential uses for this software and am considering buying it. Do you have a suggestion for software to make webm animation/video files?

    • @GMToolbox
      @GMToolbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this is something they plan to add as a feature over time. I would say just be patient for now.

      Just because you like building stuff or did you find a way to use these in the Sims? My wife plays Sims a lot so curious.

    Does it do angled and curved walls?

    • @GMToolbox
      @GMToolbox  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sort of. The official feature is still in development however there is a workaround to make it happen. I suggest joining the discord group. Someone in there posted a PDF on how to do it

      I am confused about your question. Dungeon Alchemist is a map making software that can be used for your TTRPG games. You export the final image to an image file for use on a TV or to print and put on your table or export for use in a VTT. Since I made this video they have made many more tile sets as well. The software is constantly getting updates. What is it you are looking for? There are other softwares out there that way help. Talespire perhaps?
