btw...there are plenty of 90s sporty cars that have 4WS, but you wouldn't notice it because they are reactive instead of proactive like the prelude, and their degree of turn is also very unnoticeable, they are meant as small failsaves to prevent you from spinning out if the situation calls for it.
Nissan/Datsun gave you a lot of engineering for your money. I discovered this after buying a used Datsun and needing to make a repair. Imagine my surprise when I read in the manual that it had wedge combustion chambers and dual valve springs.

I love that I6's are the most balanced engine in the world b/c they can take so much power without having to change the internals and like you said they all drive pretty smooth. When you talked about an older artist that was sold to a younger generation or that could be sold, to me would be Townes Van Zandt. Townes as you know or if you have never listened to him, is from the "Country Music Genre". If you listen to Townes's songs, you will hear an artist that was called country b/c only b/c of his Texas twang and some of his guitar style, but his lyrics went far beyond the myopic themes that a lot of country artists seem to get stuck in.

That's a pretty impressive torque split. Given the VAG Haldex system can only really deliver 5 ~10% of power to the rear wheels when needed. Torson is often considered the proper all wheel drive variant offering full torque vectoring across all wheels.
Too bad toyota didnt do an awd system like this on my alltrac. But GOD DAMN something about early 90s Japanese dashes is amazing. Simple and perfect. Id own R32/33 over 34. Just because people covet the 34 so much. Hell a gts 2wd skyline would be cool. Manual turbo of course
Curious to see you get your hands on a R33 GTR and compare. Never seen one in person myself but always see people that claim to know or have been in or driven one, that the R33 is just fatter.
The drive quality makes sense really. The R32 destroyed the 80's cars because it was as good the first time, as 90s cars got. 90's cars pretty much ran through until 2005 or so, when the "modern" cars came about. So, being a stellar 90s' car at the start of the 90's, it was a quantum leap ahead and remained relevant all the way until the next major evolution in cars finally made it feel old or "simple"
