    I have an 11 week old I’m breastfeeding this is my first time. She was 4 weeks old and had a streak of blood in stool so I cut out dairy. I assumed her poop has been normal except she had a watery diaper a couple days ago it would not stay on or in the diaper and several after that had blood and now gone. I’m not sure and am constantly searching in her stool. Today she had a diaper that was like tannish orange with brown flecks in it..

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I will tell you that runny watery stool is normal for the fully breastfed infant. And yes, it usually runs straight out of the diaper. Color can vary, and flecks of blood can easily be an anal fissure or if you have nipple damage, it can be from your nipples, ingested when they nurse and then they poop it out. I have a video about dairy that you may want to peek at. :)

    My baby has had green poop for as long as I can remember. He is over 3 months old. The pediatrician tested his poop and told me to cut out dairy. I haven’t eaten dairy in 2 months and it has not gotten better. Please help me!

    Pulls off during every let down

    Hello my baby is 4months old I nurse and also bottle feed when I pump milk but he’s exclusively drinking breast milk. His poop is mostly always kinda with some mucus some days more than others. The poop is in the yellowish color is just the consistency that I’m wondering/concerned. Also today I just noticed a tiny small amount of strain like blood in the poop nothing major but can clearly see the blood is that a concern?

    My 2 week old is having green-brownish like stools that are very runny with seeds. It does have a foul odor when she goes. Would this be considered diarrhea or just normal ? She is a breastfed baby. If helps, I am currently taking stool softeners that can get into my milk.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maternal stool softeners do not impact a baby's stool. Runny with seeds is a normal infant stool. Red, white and black are the ones we worry about.

    My baby has been having green mucousy poop , sometimes seedy and sometimes not.. is that a normal variant as well?

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It sure is. The seeds are globs of fat they ingest from your milk. When they need the fat, you see less or no seeds. When they don't need it, they poop it out and you see more seeds. And yes green and even stringy or some mucous can be normal, especially if they are going thru a virus we can see mucous or more green bc of fast let down or mom being on antibiotics. But green is not a medical problem.

    A baby who screams in pain with Irritable Bowel like I did and like my daughter, and poops yellow diarrhea copiously, should see a paediatrician. Possible inherited IBS.

    • @DoneNaturally
      @DoneNaturally  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seeing a Ped is always ok. Diarrhea is almost unheard of in an exclusively breastfed infant, even in underdeveloped countries; in those countries, it is the formula fed infants who are at risk and can die of diarrhea disease from unsanitary water. And runny, yellow, watery or seedy stools are normal with a 100% breastfed infant..and what we expect. IBS in a an exclusively breastfed infant I have never heard of in the 15 years of my work in this profession.

      Exclusively Breastmilk-fed babies stool looks yellow in color, is watery or runny, sometimes pasty and sometimes there are tiny little seed-looking like pieces.
      This is normal. The seedy looking pebbles are globs of fat they’ve invested from mom’s milk. If they need the fat, they will keep it and stools will be without seeds or very few. If they don’t need the fat, they will excrete in their stool, resulting in seedy looking yellow poop.

      Exclusively breastfed babies after about 6 weeks can start to poo less often and it’s not constipation. They GI is more mature. Even as infrequently as once every 7/10 days. But when they do poo it should be massive and still normal colors. So what you describe sounds perfectly normal.
