Nice! I am not a Mate guy myself, but its nice to know it's pretty simple to get up and running.

Many thanks for the video. This video unfortunately doesn’t seem to quite match with OpenBSD 7.2. I experimented with installing it, but when I ran # rcctl multicast messagebus avahi_daemon I got a syntax prompt, so something has probably changed with rcctl and version 7.2. Interestingly, there no restart or shutdown buttons in the menu either. Lastly, I believe that there a few versions of the gnome items installed, that have a mate version included in the mate-extra package. Just a heads-up to keep your video relevant for a while…

    Nice!
I’m sticking with the native (already in base) Calm Window Manager (cwm), but I want to add a user for my kid for fun and games. I assume I can continue using cwm and add a DM for another user? But still keep xenodm(1) for logon? I heard it doesn’t work for some DMs. I’ll just have to experiment, but it would be nice if someone tried already.
Thank you for the great productivity, keep ‘em coming, please!

That should work. When I was trying out Mate, I didn't switch and used xenodm to login
