Evening Trains at Basingstoke, SWML - 12th October 2023

Hello.. And welcome to both my subscribers and to anyone who has visted my channel to view my latest video.
On Thursday evening on 12th October 2023, I visited Basingstoke station where is situated on South Western Mainline.
This station has a lot on show, quite a lot of train services passers and quite a lot of freights and light locomotives at times.
I think both view points are excellent where you can see trains coming from afair, and also like curve line that leads to Reading.
This station has quite a lot of good facilitys, there is 2 Pumpkin Coffee shop's one is inside right where the waiting room is on Platform 2 and 3, and on Platform 4. And there is another coffee place and shop on lower level. Or if you want alternative option you want to get some food or any other stuff just simply head out of the entrance and City Centre is right in front of you, after walk down some stairs.
Stations you will see are SWR 444, 450, 158 & 159, Cross Country 220, 221, GWR 165, Freightliner, GBRF & DB Class 66 & 70.
Also a bouns Class 50 Pulling SWR 458 to Widnes Transport Tech for them to get refurbished.

Why a CrossCountry service heading north would use platforms 2 or 1 instead of 3 or 4? 32:38

It’s because that SWR 159 that came in that was supposed to go to Waterloo ended up Terminating at Basingstoke, and it was delayed. And it came in about 7 or 8 minutes before Cross Country that was due in at Platform 3. But 159 was at the stations for a while waiting to go to Basingstoke sidings. So in the end Cross Country got changed to go on Platform 2 instead. 29:02
