Well I don't enter then there is no way that I can win. I don't know who the other people are, so I can't share their winnings which means that it doesn't matter to me if anyone wins or not. Therefore I should enter regardless and hope that other people don't enter.
For the $1mil/N one, everyone puts down 0. Except one person, who puts down 0.001. Then they all split the ten billion dollars prize amongst themselves.
Jef B I don’t care about the competition. This dude was saying he would rather no one get $1,000,000 then someone who isn’t him and that just means he’s a douche bag. I would gladly let someone else get 1 mil then no one.
This could be done ten trillion times, and there still wouldn't be a winner. Greed. If someone doesn't like the video, then they don't have the potential to gain the reward. Therefore it's more likely people will like the video than otherwise. The only way to win, is to cheat. Even if the world was cheating, what's the point? Why would you team up with the world, and earn your whopping share of less than one cent? You'd like the video so nobody wins, in hopes that maybe in the future you'd win the full reward for yourself. Everyone, regardless of cheaters, would like the video. Nobody would win. Except for Mr Beast, Who scammed the crap outta everybody for those juicy likes.
@*Tea Truffel* If you don't like the video, you lose regardless. If you do like the video, you have a chance to win. Most people see it this way, so people will like the video. That's all there is to it.
Noone would win simply because not everyone is gonna watch this video , others will like just for the LoL to make sure others lose, some people dont even watch a video before they hit the like. This is just free publicity to provide beast with a possible TH-cam video that will gather slot of revenue for a no effort video
it is a Nash equilibrium, of course everybody will click. you may be improving the overall chances for somebody to win if you don't click, but you are not improving your chances in any way by not clicking.
NO WAY!!! Let me get this straight: You comment something that is unrelated to the fact that I smell like 100 dead orangutans? Considering that I am the unprettiest TH-camr ever, smelling like 100 dead orangutans is really incredible. Yet you did not mention that at all. I am quite disappointed, dear MRBEAST

I always had the Problem with public toilets. If everyone realized Toilet No. 1 is used the most, it is used the least etc etc finally coming to the conclusion about Toilet 4/5 is the best
But in reality there is is Continuum. Some people have to pee really badly, and they will always chose #1. So it will be the dirtiest, but the closest. Depending on how much time you have, you can walk all the way to #5.
Ludix147 Yeah, that’s true but I was talking about a what if statement. Imagine it’s a school and it’ll be familiar to them so it’s the same situation.
@@UXGillespie You have no way of knowing what somebody else will think. You can only come up with a probability of what they will think based on assumptions of how they will think based on how you think. Still, if you don't like the video, you are absolutely guaranteed to lose. There is infinite more probability that you win (even if the chances are the smallest possible percentage) then not liking it. Not liking it leaves your possibility of winning at absolute 0. Even if liking the video only increases your chances of winning by 1 googolplexth of a percent, the odds at 1 googolplexth of a percent are infinitely higher then absolutely 0
My math teachers have done this for extra credit on the test. You can choose 2 or 5 points, but if more than 2 people chose 5 nobody got anything. We’ve never gotten any extra credit.
This^. This dilemma is not about winning: it's about not losing. Thus the only correct choice is to leave a like anyway: -In the remote case that you are the only one who liked the video, you win (read: you don't lose). -If other people liked the video as well, you don't win, but you don't lose either. If, however, you don't leave a like and someone manages to win the prize, you actually lose the game, thus inaction is never a choice. I think the design for this dilemma is somewhat lacking. It would have been much more interesting if all the participants who don't win the prize (either because only one player won, or no one did) suffered some bad consequences, like being killed or having to pay 1,000,000 dollars.
@@kassemmosseli3000 the dilemma is about a group win not an individual win, so if you somehow know that every participant is "super rational" then you should roll a whatever sided dice and only participate when u get a 1
The best way to approach this is to just realize your chances are basically 0 and your better off doing literally anything else in the world like opening a hotdog stand in new york and hoping someone tips you 100,000 usd.
I think the problem is that if you could see the people you were competing against you would lose your dignity: ie you would feel guilt. Because the internet provides a way for anyone to hide behind the wall of their account picture you will feel very little guilt. I could insult you brutally and it might make an impact on you, but nothing would happen to me. Even if at one point we did meet up irl we almost certainly wouldn’t realize who each other were. The internet provides a place where you can hide out and be completely insensitive mean and cruel with no impact on your own life. This provides an explanation to why trolls are so prevalent. We need to strive to make it a better place because just because we won’t be affected doesn’t mean others won’t. So that’s why I wouldn’t like the video.
@@joseval98 That's the real question; why the heck would I be interested in someone winning? I mean, I, as myself, would love to see one person very happy, but our human nature is just 1- win 2- not lose This is given that 10M can hardly collaborate

For the $1mil/N one, everyone puts down 0. Except one person, who puts down 0.001. Then they all split the ten billion dollars prize amongst themselves.
Or everybody could put down 0. And break the entire global economy.

Except for Mr Beast,
Who scammed the crap outta everybody for those juicy likes.
@*Tea Truffel*
If you don't like the video, you lose regardless.

That's all there is to it.

People are too selfish for anyone to win. The fear of missing out would mean almost everyone would enter it
It isnt even selfishness, its just that there are too many people, the chances of only one person going for it are infinitesimal
and the few that would refrain in hopes that someone might actually win... well, nobody would ever know because they didn't interact with it
it is a Nash equilibrium, of course everybody will click. you may be improving the overall chances for somebody to win if you don't click, but you are not improving your chances in any way by not clicking.
There just is no reason to not try it. They will lose nothing if multiple people like. Nor will they gain anything if someone else wins.
Either you have a extreme minimal chance of winning or no chance at all, the answer is obvious.

Logic does not apply to trolls. They troll to skew odds. And it is most likely there is more than 1 troll.

I think Mr. Beast's million is safe for now.
if he even HAS a million to give out.
the cheat would be to find him physically, and outright rob him.
The most logical thing to do is to like, it may be unlikely you win, but since it costs nothing it’s basically a free lottery ticket.
This^.
This dilemma is not about winning: it's about not losing. Thus the only correct choice is to leave a like anyway:
-In the remote case that you are the only one who liked the video, you win (read: you don't lose).
-If other people liked the video as well, you don't win, but you don't lose either.
If, however, you don't leave a like and someone manages to win the prize, you actually lose the game, thus inaction is never a choice.
I think the design for this dilemma is somewhat lacking. It would have been much more interesting if all the participants who don't win the prize (either because only one player won, or no one did) suffered some bad consequences, like being killed or having to pay 1,000,000 dollars.
its not about logic though, it is about rationality. and rationally speaking, you should get off the internet and do something productive.
If i like i have 0.00000...01% chance to win but if i dont like i have 100% to not win
The problem is that you don't lose anything by liking
@@fire_aspect_5142 I absolutely agree
This is just a trick to make Mr. Beast's video become the most liked video on TH-cam
His video is already the second mosy liked non-music video on youtube
The only logical answer is you can't win if you don't play
But if that Is the logical answer it means that everyone is going to do it, which means that everyone loses
@@joseval98 That's the real question; why the heck would I be interested in someone winning?
I mean, I, as myself, would love to see one person very happy, but our human nature is just
1- win
2- not lose
This is given that 10M can hardly collaborate
And you’re the dummy who plays into the winless contest
thats why you are rational and not super rational
Losing costs nothing.
I always side on nothing, in any situation. Not out of generosity, but because I'm lazy.
I would definitely like because i dont care about other people getting it and i might just be the lucky one
