Brainiac for me is the best villain ever in the Superman rogue's gallery and he's my all time favourite, the cool thing i love about him is you can never truly kill him as he always finds a way to download himself into another body and come back more powerful than before as there's always another copy out there waiting to be rebooted. I long for the day when he will eventually make his debut on the big screen as he's long overdue to appear in a Superman movie, i pray that one day it will happen.
Well, James Gunn said 5/10 of the villains in some list will be in the beginning of the DCU, and Brainiac was on that list. Maybe he’ll be the villain in Superman: Legacy? If not, I’m sure he’ll make an appearance sooner rather than later.
Corey Burton’s Brainiac really set the standard for the character, and as someone who grew up watching the DCAU he was just a convincing threat to Superman, and the universe for the matter. The voice alone!
Corey Burton is a legend. He voiced Count Dooku and Cad Bane in The Clone Wars Dr. Hugo Strange in Arkham City Braniac in the DCAU. Zeus in GOW 2&3 Ect.
You're missing the Skeletal Brainiac from the last two seasons of Super Friends, and the Brainthor (Brainiac and Luthor merged) in Justice League Unlimited.
So many good portrayals... but whenever we hear Corey Burton again, whoever was just before him that you *thought* was pretty cool is instantly swept away. Face it - there is one true Brainiac.
The only incarnation of Brainiac that I ever found very compelling was the Injustice 2 version. The original and TV versions of him often came across like a weird "freak of the week" sideshow act to me than a constant and compelling threat. Also favourite design. And I happen to like Jeffrey Combs.
if they hadn't removed Richard Donner from the project, we would have Brainiac as a villain, the problem is that Supergirl would be Superman's girlfriend in the movie
11:40 Hello, Ratchet. You seem to be lost. How did you manage to trap yourself in the wrong continuity? I hope it wasn't one of those new experimental Omni-bridges. Let's get you back into the Transformers Prime continuity shall we?
Coming to think of it, Brainiac's origins are not that much different from Clark Kent and Jor El. Brainiac was exiled from his world for, claiming that their universe would be destroyed, and right before it's destruction. The biggest differences between Superman & Jor El and Brainiac are how they react to their origins. Unlike Superman, Brainiac would do anything to undo the past that destroyed his world, including experimenting with apocalyptic disasters, using every planet he finds as testing grounds, until he figures out how his world was destroyed so that he can find out how to fix the problem before it happened.
You might have forgotten the mechanical version of Brainiac from the later series of Super-Friends. Anyway, the best version of Brainiac that I know is from Superman: The Animated Series. I mean, Corey Burton gave voice to that character which showed what Brainiac actually is: a machine without sympathy or remorse due to its programming. A couple friends of mine who are Star Trek fans told me that they were quite surprised when they heard that John de Lancie (Q from Star Trek: The Next Generation & Voyager) was voicing Brainiac in Justice League Action. And also, for the Christopher Reeve Superman films (should they have been made in a better way with Richard Donner still in the director's chair), I would strongly say that Donald Pleasence would have been the best person to portray Brainiac on-screen.
Douglas Snyder i agree with you man. Corey was awsome in the legion of superheroes tv show. But as for live action what do you think about Tobin bell playing him one day. That man has a kick ass voice.
You mean Tobin Bell from the Saw series (though I'm not much of a fan of those kind of films)??? I could probably have seen him as Brainiac in the 2000s Superman films if they were made the right kind of way, coarse I'm not sure if he would agree to do the make-up for the character. But I think he would do a very good job of voicing Brainiac in a Superman or Justice League animated movie.
Douglas Snyder you do not need make up for a character like brainiac you need cg. And tobin bell in my eyes could be an awsome brainiac in any era not just the 2000s. He has THE best voice for villians and as a fan of the saw films ive seen him be methodical cold and calculated thus being the best choice for brainiac one day if someone approaches him.
Well, it could be a combination of both, using CGI & make-up effects. But nonetheless, I would have to agree that Tobin Bell would be the right choice to portray Brainiac in either live-action or voice-over.
Brainiac from Superman: TAS and Justice League is, for me, the best one. A perfect balance between alien and machine, while also looking cool and intimidating.
3:55 - Weak-willed species? THREE different members of Green Lantern corps were human at that point (also one honorary Lantern, Alan Scott) - and more came since then. Species with that many Green Lanterns simply CAN'T be considered weak-willed - I think only Korugar and Oa have any competition in willpower department. Brainiac needs to update his data.
4:53 Coming back to Lance Henriksen's performance on Brainiac, and since James Spader isn't able to come back for whatever reason, I feel Lance would've been a good fit for Ultron in What-If Not to trample on Ross Marquand, he has James Spader's mannerisms. But I feel Lance's got the mannerisms, tone and coldness to match James Spader's performance as Ultron
people say bad things about him but unlike other programs that want to evolute...brainac actually do it for humanity...get rid of humans to help them....why do we hate him
Early Brainiac: Weird guy who snatches people and animals for seemingly unknown reasons. '90s Brainiac: Captured Bruce Wayne, forcing Superman and Robin to team up.
Loved the Superman masquerading as Batman, giving the crooks of Gotham even more terror than normal. The look on Bane’s face when “Batman” lifted the statue that was just thrown on top of him, was priceless
Best Brainiac ever was the Superman/JL/JLU version voiced by Corey Burton. This Evolution video makes it clear that he is inferior both before and after that apogee. If they ever put him in a movie and use any form other than that one, it'll be another Huge DC Mistake.
Markus Criticus yeah but there’s always the threat of him seeming underpowered. I mean he’s basically a god but at the same time you don’t want players rage quitting.
I'd cast James Spader. Ironic since he played Ultron in the MCU, but I want a more serious, cold, and calculating machine. An alien that is completely devoid of emotion and only speaks in a deep monotone.
Hey, guys! Check out our new website for more comic book content: www.comicbookjoint.com
The smallville scenes missed Brainiac’s introduction way back in the fifth season when he tried to bring General Zod to earth.
Early Braniac: Weird guy who snatches stuff up.
Later Braniac: Actually intimidating super genius.
My theory is that Braniac is stealing those elephants for experiments.
@@rickyrackey7930 I think he just likes elephants
Early Brainiac: Reducto
Later Brainiac: *insert Bill Wurtz "HOT" meme here*
“Shield of force”. Oh the 60s days.
Superman The Animated Series was so underrated
Ikr. I have been watching it
Rob Picken it was always undershadowed by the Batman animated series
Paul Diamen *overshadowed
I’m watching it right now. It hold up well.

In the DCAU he was technically killed, as he was teleported into the 31st century directly above the sun and literally melted in front of our eyes.
Corey Burton’s Brainiac really set the standard for the character, and as someone who grew up watching the DCAU he was just a convincing threat to Superman, and the universe for the matter. The voice alone!
That's why this is my favorite version of Brainiac.
And it makes sense that the voice for Shockwave in the original Transformers show is the voice.
Corey Burton is a legend.

Dr. Hugo Strange in Arkham City
Braniac in the DCAU.

I call Luthor/Brainiac "Luthoriac" because "Brainthor" soinds like really smart Thor.
Brainthor was the greatest thing
🤣
@@rlacksgh9673 Woah I've been calling it Lexiac
*Don't you recognise me Darkseid? I am Brainiac!*
*Brainiac?! But you look nothing like him!*
Corey Burton is the best Brainiac.
Doug Shoemaker Don't forget James Marsten (Smallville). Plus Krypton Brainiac looks amazing
I like Jeffery Combs from Injustice 2.
They’re all great Brainiacs!
Truth is nearly all the best versions are from DCAU
Corey Burton is better than Lance Henriksen
So many good portrayals... but whenever we hear Corey Burton again, whoever was just before him that you *thought* was pretty cool is instantly swept away. Face it - there is one true Brainiac.
“One true brainiac”
Ironic.

DCAU Brainiac is the best Brainiac.
He is the collector of knowledge
And the destroyer of worlds
Corey Burton's tone for Brainiac is more frightening than Cliff Owens anyway!
YESSSS
3:08 I don't know why but that part just makes me laugh
He peed on BRAINIAC
OH NO THE SUPERMAN PEE BEAM
When you know the episode's plot twist
Honestly DCAU Braniac makes the others look lame.
Well, anything can make the 66 version look lame. Also, what is the Super Friends version wearing? A school uniform?
Krypton brainiac shits on dcau version
he looks like an idiot the first brainiac they showed was better than thats garbage
ANTHONY THOMAS no way you think that DCAU brainiac is better than the original one he doesn’t even look like brainiac
ANTHONY THOMAS no it just doesn’t look like brainiac and even if it wasn’t brainiac he still looks dumb he looks egg head if he had an iron man suit
My calculations and extensive data conclude that pants are an unnecessary, and frankly limiting accessory of one's own physical avatar.
But what if you have to run?
2:33 Brainiac: he WILL lay the funk down.
Interesting note: The "Ultimate Computer" from the final act of Superman III was originally supposed to be(come) Braniac.
Really? You mean there were plans for Brainiac to appear in Superman III?
Tim burton was going to make a Superman movie staring Nicolas cage’ that move was going to have brainiac as the villian
if they hadn't removed Richard Donner from the project, we would have Brainiac as a villain, the problem is that Supergirl would be Superman's girlfriend in the movie
Corey Burton for the win.
"And this is your final answer?"
"Read my lips: go to he...."
"Unfortunate. But predictable."
That Justice league Action one looks like the Leader without the moustache. 😂
I love how Jeffrey Combs has voiced both those characters, along with The Scarecrow.
Look more like squidward
9:20 she looks like Mystique.
More Mystique than the God awful last x men movie
All I want is a decent pair of pants!
Solomon Grundy wants pants too!
I love that old commercial.
Fun fact: The person who voiced brainiac in Superman:Brainiac Attacks, Lance Henriksen would go on to voice Lockdown in transformers animated

Same voive actor probably
😂
Look kids! It's Brainiac! And he's swiping some elephants and thinks he can walk away with them!
2:24 Someone lay down a funky beat!
At 2:35 didn't kind of sound like Brainiac was dropping the f bomb or is it just me?
A little
I was like yo whatttt
I think he was saying the lyrics of the song " i will lay the funk down"
5:38 That's his theme from the DCAU playing in the background

I don't understand why they never put Braniac in the movies. He's one of the best "Superman" villains.
Bc box office has failed, wb did cancel 4 movie (superman 5 and superman lives for tim burton and superman return 2 and man of steel 2)
I wish Brainiac had appeared in Superman III and the DC Extended Universe with the character played by Christopher Lee and Ben Stiller.
0:15- Lex Luthor/Brainiac: why do I suddenly have the urge to shrink elephants and take them away with me.

The Super Friends had at least one episode of the skeletal/robotic Brainiac.
Anything is better than LEGO Batman 3 brainiac
Yeah. I hate LEGO Brainiac.
The one from 1:59 is Brainiac 5. Brainiac 5 and Brainiac are two different people.

Brainiac- my favorite of Superman’s foes!
so what do we call the one in justice league action? Brainiac-Q?
if you dont get it, then look up the actor
Actually I think Q can snap Brainiac out of existence.
Cant believe they skipped Injustice 2 version. Easily the most badass version. They show him in between clips. Makes no sense but whatever.
Read the title, it says "cartoons, movies and TV", not video games.
