    Thank you sir. Now that I'm a certified TH-cam plumber I am going to tackle my leak.

    Great video David. I have the same problem with a stain on my ceiling and am hoping its the drain as its only appeared twice in 3 years. Worried about how to cut and repair the ceiling so I watched that video first and then saw your link to plumbing. Awesome! I feel confident I can tackle both jobs now. Thank you Sir :)

      Something I’ve learned since I did this video is that the plumbers puddy starts to deteriorate and should be replaced around the shower drain too.

    Thank you for the info.. If I were to hire someone to do this for the similar problem I have, should be calling a Plumber/handyman/construction contractor? Not sure what to look for.

      You’d probably need to interview a handyman to see what abilities he has. A good experience handyman that has multiple skills is where I’d start. Most plumbers aren’t good sheet rock repairman. Some contractors that do hands on work and not sub out their jobs might also be an option. And the third option would be a plumber just for the plumbing repair, and a sheet rocker to repair the sheet rock. But if you do the third option be sure they can also do the sheet rock finish work too. Hope this helps.

    Nice video. Gives a good starting point. I have a similar situation but I’m curious how you diagnosed that it was the drain and not any of the faucet fittings/pipes causing the drip?
    Did you cut the hole first and take a look before you made the video? Or would the drips/stains be different if it were the other items leaking?
    Thanks in advance for any reply.

      I saw the stain on the ceiling, cut the hole and located where the leak was, then repaired it and patched the hole. Thanks for your question.

    Around how much would it be for that job?

    • @davidmartindaletheycallmemacgu
      @davidmartindaletheycallmemacgu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s an open ended question because right now it’s hard to get contractors, they’re all swamped so they can pretty well charge what ever they want. That’s one reason I have my you tube channel, to help people save on the cost of repairs.

      @@davidmartindaletheycallmemacgu Thank you, my second floor bathroom is leaking to the kitchen ceiling. I already replaced the stems and seats. It was fine for a while and now is leaking again. On the search for a good plumber.

      @@kelm1123 don’t be afraid to cut the sheet rock to find the leak, sheet rock is an easy fix. Also if it’s a waterline PEX tubing is easy to use to splice with shark bit fittings and no tools are required. TH-cam is a great resource.
