This was a big job and having to patch up the ceiling afterwards is alot of work. I think the most difficult part is figuring out the source of the water leak and hoping that where you open up the ceiling is close to it.
Wow.. seems like a lucky solution to what could have been a bigger issue. We have water coming out by the truck loads from the second floor into our kitchen from a second floor kitchen that's a rental. So we've yet to find the source of the water yet. The house is 150 years old so I don't think it's going to be quite as simple to fix, although I don't want to take away from what a great job this person did. I'd say taking cate of a leak at the very first sign of one is of most importance, will save a ton of money on replacing further damage.
My ceiling has a few water spots that I have noticed a few months back, they’re not getting any bigger, nor water drips from them, but I’d like to cut the drywall & see for myself. Thanks for the video
This is so helpful! I think we have the exact same problem. We have ripped out part of the floor but we need to investigate more to see where the leak is!
Good job. I use alot of the Pex pipe for my water lines in the remodels I do. Its strange to see it have a leak in a place where there was no connecting fitting. If that was a copper pipe and was located in a place where it could have froze I could see that type of problem but since this is Pex pipe which expands 10x its original size when the water inside of it freezes without bursting the problem you had is really rare. But for whatever reason you did have a leak and you used the 1/2" Shark Bite slip repair joint very effectively. 👍 Thanx for the video.
Hi,thanks I have same problem, i still did not know where is the leakink pipe, but thanks for the video, CN you tell me how did you put the wood of the ceiling whole back?
That's weird - I wonder what caused the pipe to fail there? I mean, it's a nice fix but I'd be worried - after replacing all the drywall and reskimming, etc - that it's going to spring a hole somewhere else at some point...
THANK YOU JESUS. I just noticed the same problem and took it to Jesus. First priority. He brought me to you and the problem now seems manageable though I have NO practical skills whatsoever. THANK YOU JESUS. Thank you too.
Hi Thanks for this vidéo. I would like to know how to close the big hole made in the roof. I will really appreciate. Thanks -- UPDATE -- I found the answer uou gave to someone earlier 👍
Thank god my bathroom is the only part of my house with a drop ceiling. My upstairs neighbors apartments shower is above mine (the leak was above my shower) so i figured out when she showers it starts leaking luckily i dont have to cut my dry wall its a drop ceiling
This type of water leak required opening up the ceiling because the water was still leaking. If you had a water spot that wasn't leaking then you would cork around the bathtub area.
Flushed toilet and left out. Came home an hour later and living room has flooded. Maintenance came turned the water off from the toilet and left. About an hour later a flood of water came pouring from the ceiling. What can be the issue?
I’m so sorry for that situation. I wish I could help but I think a professional plumber is your best bet to figure out what’s wrong. I hope it’s resolved already since it’s been 3 days.
The ceiling caved, maintenance arrived. They gave me a fan and a bucket and got the pieces of the ceiling that fell. This was 3 days ago, haven't heard from them since. The upstairs bathroom is soaked an smells horrible.
Job was not finished thats why it was leaking the screw from the sheet rock was screwed right in to the pipe so what he should have done was move those clamps up with the hoes so that when je did install the sheetrock it wouldn't go right back in to the hoes

I was lucky enough to find it on the first try. And you are right, fixing that ceiling was no joke.
Thank you, this was the only video with actual investigation of water problem, you are the best!
Thank you so much for watching.
Don’t you just love when it’s this easy and actually works the first time!! Same with car repairs!! 😂
Good job and thanks for The video.
It’s a great feeling! Thank you for watching!
Thank you for this video. We are having a similar issue and was to scared to look. Now we have confidence that it may be an easy fix.
You are welcome. Best of luck!
The “oh thank you Jesus” said it all lol

I’m sorry to hear. I hope you find the leak sooner than later.

That’s what I was thinking! Pex line is pretty tough stuff.

Hi,thanks
I have same problem, i still did not know where is the leakink pipe, but thanks for the video,
CN you tell me how did you put the wood of the ceiling whole back?
When using fittings on plastic pipe, be sure to put inserts in each pipe end first.
How much does a repair like this cost?
An arm and a leg
My parents decided to have a relative install tile in both upstairs bathrooms. Now there's two leaks like this in seperate parts of the house

I'm having this same problem! And it just might be my hose . This leak is coming from between my bathroom or my washroom .
Great video! What was that hose used for? I have a similar issue and cant find the source of the leak after opening ceiling. Thank you
Mine was the hot water hose.
When will they start building houses well again in the UK?

I found the answer uou gave to someone earlier 👍
Hallelujah Amen!
great job!!
Thanks!!
Why not use waterproof sealer tape?
I live in an apartment. Maybe it’s my neighbors fault. I don’t know what to do.
Check a professional plumber.
At least it's an apartment and you don't need to pat for it unlike me 😭
I also have the similar, don't know how and who could help to get this fixed.
Check for a professional plumber.

Who should i call for this the same issue?
I would never use a Sharkbite fitting in a closed wall !!!!
So far so good.

This is great.
Than you.
So I am experiencing similar issue.. should I call plumber?
Definitely. You don’t want something like that to get worse.

Amazing
Not bad at all!!
Thanks.
Me too! This sucks
I agree.
