I can’t speak for the world at large, but that Storm sold really well in my area. I imagine a lot of factors go into the success or failure of reissues.
Ha! I live in South Florida….. a WORLD WIDE SHOPPING DESTINATION….. targets has that Storm on Pegs…. And it was gone within days….. he thinks his little town represents the US….
@@alejandromolinac Like your mom not saying she regretted not swallowing you, he at no time said that his town represents the US. He clearly said he couldn't speak for you. And what do you do? Say the stupidest thing possible. Like you mom saying no to a wire hanger.
All I care about is that my prays have been answered. 😇 My Masters origins grail character Orko is back in stock, and I'm proud of myself for never bending over, and giving "resellers" (aka scalpers) $48 for him. Now that I have the main character of the show secured I can finally consider getting some of the other characters like He-man, and Skeletor as I refused to buy a single origins figure if I didn't have Orko.
Reissuing can be super cheap to do just to have stores fill pegs, even if all those peg warmers eventually get sold off by the lb per pallet go to clearance or third party for 75% off.
Very interesting video, I really like these type of action figures content 👍🏼 Also, I believe that those reissued Deadpool and Wolverine sold even more than their first editions, the hype for the movie was massive (and maybe still is).
Insightful as always. I got question for you. I preorder lot of my stuff off Pulse due that I have hard time finding stuff in stores if it even shows up and its just so much easier lot of the time. What is still with distrubution?
Hasbro are the kings of good and bad reissue decisions. Transformers had a lot of reissiues of G1 toys and those sold great. This lead them to beast wars and it fumbled with Ratrap clogging store shelves. Now the first wave of reissues sold well, because their was demand for those characters they were getting a movie afteral, but ratrap was not in that movie at all and they made thousands of him for some reason....I understand, he was a main character in the show, but he was a storm in this caae.
I'd argue nearly all of the Beast Wars reissues clogged shelves. Having Rattrap, Cheetor, Primal, and Megatron out around the same time as their Kingdom toys likely hurt the reissues. Tigatron right after Cheetor hurt it further, and all of them being solid cases likely sealed its fate before the toy-only characters started appearing.
That Storm is actually a great figure, and I think they knew it. So they jumped the gun and oversaturated the market, making it in a black suit, then a silver suit, and then a white suit. And by that time, everyone who wanted it already had it, potentially even in two different colors.
I'm pretty sure the recent marvel legends storm that was in the video only came in black or white. The original toybiz five inch one from back in the 90's came in silver.
Storm didn’t sell? I had such a hard time finding that storm body. I never saw her in stores. In my area I haven’t seen a Storm re-issue then again, the Walmart in my area doesn’t sell MOTU anymore.
Good video, Scott. When they do re-releases, would they re-release an entire wave OR just a single character? For example, I picked up the entire Bonebreaker Wave from Burlington store for $8 each but other stores seem to only have the 'heat claws' Wolverine from that Wave. I'm assuming what I found was older inventory not something redone.
Huh? Marvel Legends has had like 4 eras….. ToyBiz….. original Hasbro….. Hasbro reintroduction with Crappy sculpts…. Hasbro update with better face sculpts, pinless joints and digital face printing….
Red Hulk rerelease, I understand but I don’t quite get the point of rereleasing hot claws Wolverine when the new Astonishing one is on shelves too. They’re so similar as to be confusing for buyers which could lead to less purchases of the new figure.
What the heck are you talking about Storm? SHE WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND WITH THE RETRO WAVE….. those Storm Pegs showed up around Christmas and quickly sold out….. you know your little town is not the whole of the US?

It's still sitting on the pegs at my Target .

Cheers for the video. I find the world of Hasbro and Marvel Legends fascinating.

MAN, Street Sharks has nailed the reissue!
great video. thanks for sharing!
I was happy to get some reissues of Star Wars black series figures.

Nice video topic!
Ironically if they rereleased that Storm now after X-Men '97's hype it would probably sell very well.
That works.
Thank you for making this.
Woh, did Scott refer to the Cantina as a playset? Blasphemy!
Diorama?

@@polarboy5862 I think BBTS had an exclusive silver one on their site.
That Storm figure is awesome. Classic costume, too.
...
I still wouldn't pay $20 for her. $12, sure. Maybe $15. But I'm a cheapskate.

Yeah…. Those pegs full of storms showed up weeks before Christmas and they were all gone by the 23rd….. but “he used to work for Mattel”
Reissued versions of single carded Deadpool and daredevil are much needed if hascrap has a brain 🧠
Single-carded Deadpool is available now, and Daredevil will come with the show next year.

I think the Silver Surfers are different for 2 reasons.. the 2018 one has a belly button and no back peg hole but the reissue has the opposite.
Hey Scott. Do you think it is too late to start collecting Marvel Legends, at this point in the game? Am I better off waiting for a new line to start?

Classified does it best with the retro repaints

Good morning everyone
Was her name Domino?
I'd like to get that red hulk instead of buying the KO.
I'd be happy if Jakks Pacific just re-released their Charmy Bee and Super Shadow figures already!! What's the holdup, you cowards?! >=(
Your Lego figure is missing some grey lines in the hair 🥸
