So many people overlook him being a Master Fencer.

One of the best things I've ever seen was about 30 years or more ago it was an unopened 12 inch original "Terminator" figure that came with a "rejuvenation unit" so you could actually flay the flesh from the Terminator's battle chassis and then put it in the rejuvenation unit and rejuvenate (remould) it's flesh
It was in a sealed box that was twelve or thirteen inches high and about ten inches wide
There were no windows in the box and my description is from what I can remember from the box art on the outside
At the time I thought this would be the ultimate unopened collectable ever

About Computron, I remember going into my local Woolworths (RIP) and purchasing Strafe who was one of the arms as an individual toy. I remember the card showing on the back that he was a combiner and also showed the other pieces that made up Computron, but I never had any others. So they were available individually too.

@@vandalworks45 I also had Strafe that I bought as a single carded figure. It was not a store exclusive because I bought mine at a local retailer called Richman Gordman. I had two others (Afterburner and Lightspeed I believe) that I bought as singles. The Computron set was actually quite a bit rarer (in my opinion) and it MIGHT have been an exclusive at Toys R Us. There were store exclusives way back when, but not to the (ridiculous) degree we see now. And PS- I miss Woolworths.

I still have my two vinyl Jawa's from 1978 and the Australian version had a longer cape and a different colour than the USA version. Another Star Wars figure that was never released on card was the blue snaggle tooth, finding one with perfect silver painted boots is difficult, it also has two version of different feet. My favourites are my shogun Godzilla from 1977, I still have the two versions, one is from the USA and the other was made in Japan...also a perfect in box shogun Mazinga, never played with. Plus 1000's of others, I really need a bigger house.

We had a vinyl caped Jawa when I was a kid, but we hated it because of the cape, so we had a second one with the cloth cape and for the life of me, I have no clue what happened to either, but if I had of known the value of a vinyl caped Jawa, I would have cherished it for sure.

I’d say my Computron is 85% complete due to missing accessories and one or two of the smaller transformers with a broken/missing head to attach with and wings busted off. I also had the 1985 complete set of Aerialbots that combined with Silverbolt.

WOW... thank you for taking me back to my childhood. I do remember collecting the Dick Tracy and TMNT for the longest time. Back home in Puerto Rico, it was tough to get some of the figures since the supplier won’t not bring them in if it didn’t sell in the US. No internet so my mom had to call my uncles in the US give them a detailed description and then I would get the toy. I’m pretty sure these and a lot more can be found at random garage sales. You would be surprised the ton of treasures you can come across for a cheap price.

I’m telling you garage sales around the USA are just full of surprises. Couple of years ago this guy who’s hobby is collecting old photos bought a stack of photos somewhere between Texas and New Mexico. This guy paid not even 20 dollars, but of all the pictures there was one that stood out from the rest. It was a photo that included 6 men one of them wearing a distinctive bowler hat and a lady. After consulting experts and getting the picture enhanced ..he acquired a picture that was showing Billy the Kid and the Regulators in Lincoln County when they first got together.

Rocket firing Boba Fett was never available to the public. I believe there was a high profile story of a child choking on a small toy piece at the time, which forced Kenner to scrap the feature pretty late into the design process. Only prototypes and mock-ups exist, hence the rarity

    • @kenhayward5009
      @kenhayward5009 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The specific toy piece responsible for choking a young boy was a rocket fired from a Battlestar Galactica vehicle. The rocket from the Boba Fett figure was about the same size, shape, and colour as the rocket fired from the BSG vehicle so I am sure that played a big role. (Just think about the legal and financial trouble they would be in if another kid got seriously hurt or worse from a toy part very similar to one that they knew killed another child.)

In the US Computron was sold as 5 individual figures, as I have Scattershot!
In my opinion Transformers got lazy after the epic 1986 movie, when most happened in space. Nothing had to look like anything anymore and most of the line was written off as “sci-fi” awkward hunks of crap. “How do YOU KNOW what an alien spaceship looks like?”. It took the “Robots in Disguise” completely out of the equation.
Hasbro/Takara also didn’t have to worry about licensing space junk. Even though, I seriously argue, it’s the companies like Nissan, Lamborghini, Walther, Lancia, GM, Chevrolet, Porsche that should have been paying Hasbro/Takara, not the other way around. Silly humans.

You did a great job with this 📹video🎥and it was very fun, as well as informative, and easy to follow and listen to. My one issue is however, ME! I was a 70's kid. So I had the Mego figures. Even the mail-in Kid Flash, Aqualad, Speedy, and Wonder girl. I remember getting them out of New York. I got Kid Flash and Aqualad first, then Speedy, and I broke down and got Wonder girl too. I had all of the DC and Marvel mego figures. Star Trek, Planet of the Apes, and even Sir Lancelot & the Black ⚫Knight⚫ too. My main toys were Mego, Hot Wheels, and Tyco. Then in 1978 EVERYTHING CHANGED. 🌟Star Wars!🌟 My first two were C3-P0 & R2-D2. Then Luke and Vader. Then Han & Chewie. Next Leia. But the Jawas were so hard to get initially. We had a Toys R Us down the road about 2-3 miles, and we had another smaller store Toy Country USA about 1 mile away. I can remember walking in, we knew the owner. He just sighed and pointed 👉 to the display. One of the tall racks, with multiple pegs that you could rotate in a circle. 5 or 6 pegs high 6 across. There on the middle race sat 4 Jawas. The ones with the plastic capes. I got 2 of them. I remember the joy of FINALLY SEEING THEM! Back then obviously in the 70's we didn't have media at every turn. Pictures of new figures, reviews, etc. You had to wait until you found one or a friend did. I look back at the Mego figures, playsets, Star Wars figures and playsets, and the Hot Wheels cars and tracks I had.......and lost. Just the cases of Star Wars figures I had! OMG! The first one was my favorite. It only held 24-30 figures. It had 2 trays and each had spots for 2 big guys like Vader and Chewie. 2 smaller spots for R2-D2 & R5-D4, & the middle had 8 spots for regular guys. It was set for 12 per tray. But if you tried you'd get a few more. But on the BACK of the trays there were PEGS. Pegs that your figures could be stuck on. You could have them "posed" and the pegs kept them there. It was a cool little extra. The other case was a C3-P0 that held 30 I think? And Vader who also held 30. I'm not sure. It may have been 24 each. But I loved Star Wars and the figures were my new favorite toys. The X-Wing and Tie Fighters were so cool. Luke's Landspeeder was my favorite. I loved Hot Wheels/cars/etc, so that was epic! I never got the Millennium Falcon/Han Solo's ship, and the AT-AT, the Imperial snow walker also was too pricey. I was given a choice over three toys. The Falcon ship, the AT-AT, and what I picked, the Death Star Planet Playset. It had the trash compactor, a big gun on top. 3 levels. I should have gotten the AT-AT. I can remember going out in the winter, and shoveled snow for money. Cleared driveways, sidewalks, etc. Either I'd get $2-3.00 sometimes $5.00, and one dude gave us $0.50 and he had ICE 2"thick! Cheap! LOL! We would go out and make money so we could get a Star Wars figure. Back then 1 driveway could be 1 figure. Maybe. But after a huge storm, I can remember buying 10 figures.
So many memories! So many wonderful memories! Some bad as well but overall for me the 70's were amazing. Great toys, awesome times, cool people who allowed 8, 9, & 10 year old kids to make $20.00-30.00 in a week.
Sadness is all of those toys are gone. Either given away, lost, stolen, foolishly left somewhere. Whatever the reasons, many memories are gone. Now that said, I NEVER have "SCALPED" toys. Meaning I have never bought figures, say Marvel Legends figures or Star Wars Black Series figures with the intent on selling them. Same with Hot Wheels. I NEVER collected or bought them to profit off them. I collected/collecting because I ENJOY IT! The memories are priceless! I've seen fights over toys. Over a case of Hot Wheels? Really? This hobby was a group of great people who love a particular franchise, organization, whatever. A 🚗Car🚗, a 🤖Robot🤖, a 🦹‍♂️🦹‍♀️Superhero🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️ , a 🧟‍♂️🧟villain💂‍♂️💂, a 🦖Dinosaur🦕, or even a 🐟🐟Fish🐠🐡. Now it's become a HUGE problem. Covid-19 created a lot of jobs lost. It also created opportunities for people to TAKE ADVANTAGE of other people! And boy do they love to do that!
Sorry for the "downer" part. Your video is excellent! Thanks for sharing it with us. Take care!
