    Police departments deploy their own judge to serve solely for granting warrants and many times they use the warranty before it was signed off. All they do is call the judge and get a verbal warrant. The warrant process is a joke.

    Not having control of your information makes you vulnerable to become a VICTIM of crime. It's not about protecting criminals - it is about protecting ourselves from being victims.

      @@swine13 I agree, pretty much it's game over already. Just look at how many TI we have already. It's ridiculous. It's sad. We bragged all the time about how free a country we are. But that's only an illusion.

    Companies could simply escape warrant requests if they simply didn't store user data AND if the software was encrypted and the company didn't have access to the encryption. Yes there are companies like this for email and TOR browser.

    You literally could just go to work for them as customer service. You get access to most all of the internal policies for how to handle LEA requests.

    very coherent, and well researched. I would recommend a listen. I understand it's long, but by all means feel free to jump around a little bit. There are several different speakers and they present on related topics in a way that each one of their talks is relevant in itself. And if you have a moment please consider spreading the word by liking / subscribing / commenting / and most importantly sharing. Have a great day everyone.

    I only use a burner cell with a SIM, my smartphones have no SIMs or personal data stored on any cell. My employer uses a communications management computer where all calls / SMS share common numbers.
    Incoming landline calls use TouchTone to select a mobile user, whilst incoming cell users can dial direct and the receiving cell can also dial out through the system.
    We can change SIMs in our cells and the comms computer is re-programmed to direct calls to the new number.
    We also use satellite pagers so there is no association between cell numbers and pagers. We only need one pager number as all our pagers use the same number and all receive the data.

    I find 2 main points here that jumped out at me here, 1 the government feels when you share something with a 3rd party system / company you no longer have rights to privacy of it so its free to be collected, which it should really depend on the type of information, so anything you share with a 3rd party that you intended would be free information of other citizens (users) then yes thats freely open and un-private (so say for example you post a comment or info on facebook, even if its just for your friends from the account thats 1 thing), but when its an operation the device or 3rd party performs without the common users knowledge (location) and is not accessible to the other citizens (users) publicly, then it should be considered a right to privacy (so your passwords and any information thats between you and the 3rd party, so pretty much everything in your emails since your the only one that see's them)
    just like if you we're to go to a lawyers office and give him some files or your Last Will to hold with the stipulation only you and him would know the infomation and see it, then would you not expect the right to privacy with that 3rd party? of course the 3rd party email or device company would have to have in its agreement the info is between you and them to really seal the deal cuz now they may say it can provide the info if it wants to, but everyone signs up for it cuz they dont read any contract.
    and point 2 was that warrants are done by a judge and the prosecutor, there should also be a jury panel just like in criminal cases since the idea is that the warrant is being ceased by the law enforcement agency of the people of the state / US v. the person in question, so there should be a jury that hears the evidence the prosecution is going on to suggest a warrant but they leave out names and specifics, and they decide if they feel like its worth encroaching on this persons rights possibly because of the information that they may be violating the law, and the law is the law of the people so they enforce it ideally cuz we employ cops to do so for us the people, then the decision goes to the judge to declare the legality and if the lawyer could call a false warrant and kill the trial if they got anything in the search, then they get the warrant lol.
    or at least that made sense to me xD but a lot has probably changed since this vid and talk

    • @swine13
      @swine13 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What is even more disturbing, is a lot of companies have added clauses in their privacy policies within the last 3 or so years that basically waive all your rights to privacy in a really shady and vague way that suggests that any 3rd party can come and collect info about you. For example, check out this appalling one:
      "When you visit or use the Service, third parties may obtain information about you or your computer or device. These third parties may include:
      · Service Providers. We may use service providers to help us with the Service or any other lawful activity may do, including the other activities we describe under this Policy. This means service providers may collect, process, and store any of the information that we may collect under the Policy, and information collected in connection with the Service may be collected directly by our service providers.
      · Third Party Tracking and Online Advertising. We may permit third party ad networks, social media companies, and other third party services to collect information about you, your computer or device when you visit or use the Service. This information may be collected automatically, including through cookies, social media plug-ins, and other technologies"
      So basically "anyone can collect anything for whatever reason, whenever they want". Yeah, no thanks... 😬
      Also, have a read of this article. I found it quite interesting:
      www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/06/12/opinion/facebook-google-privacy-policies.html

But with recent laws, US gov agencies now can legally act outside US, so rip freedom. And news about german sec agencies selling info to muricans for software renting (!!!!!) are really disturbing

      It's actually pretty widely known, now, that even BEFORE the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Atrocity...I mean Act...that (when it was still ILLEGAL to spy on Americans within America's borders) all the NSA/CIA/etc. would do is get the information from the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia on U.S. citizens...and we would provide THEM with the information on THEIR citizens. This is easily one of THE BEST "loopholes" in law that I've ever seen..."OK, well WE can't spy on Americans but GCHQ can, and GCHQ can't spy on UK citezens but WE can...HMMMM, I have an idea!!! How 'bout we just TRADE information?!" GOOD IDEA, PETE!! And thus, it began. Also, most people don't know that the NSA and all those other spy organizations had been spying on Americans for several years PRIOR to 9/11 even though it was 100% ILLEGAL. Call me a "Conspiracy Theorist" all you want, all day long; it doesn't change the FACT that 9/11 did *NOT* happen the way we are told it did and in the way the GUBMINT and MSM allege it did. The SCIENCE is out there. The whistleblowers are out there...so, the point I am trying to make is that "A New Pearl Harbor" was needed to accomplish certain goals otherwise Americans would NEVER go for them...ONE of those things being the COMPLETE DEMOLITION of the U.S. Constitution by the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Atrocity I mean Act. The GUBMINT has been like a 12 year old boy looking at naked ladies in its desire for a TOTAL INFORMATION POLICE STATE...Just look at what they are focused on at THIS time!! GUNS. They KNOW that in order to fully implement their grand scheme that they MUST disarm Americans. Once THAT goal is accomplished the plan will be nearly complete and the things that aren't complete will be pushed through like a hot knife through butter because Americans will no longer have the ability to rebel. I want to make it 100% COMPLETELY CLEAR, RIGHT HERE, that I DO *NOT* ADVOCATE VIOLENCE BEING USED IN A REVOLUTION!! I believe wholeheartedly that we CAN rise up as a people, united, and simply vote these people OUT OF OFFICE. All it takes is to get people EDUCATED, but there MUST be PROOF (Science, Whistleblowers, etc.) It's happening, people ARE waking up to what's going on, thankfully. Sadly, though, what's going on is SO *INCREDIBLY* COMPLEX and THEY HAVE THE PATIENCE to carry out the complete dissolution of the Constitution over time. Think, if you will, of the frog in the pot. The frog is happy in a pot full of cool water. Turn up the heat slowly and the frog doesn't even notice until he's been boiled alive. THAT, friends, is what is going on. Their plans have been slowly being implemented, part by part, piece by piece, and NOBODY PAYS ATTENTION. Now, we're on the edge of the cliff and we are near a point where once the line is crossed, there is no possibility to recover. Make no mistake, they are playing "The Long Game" and if we don't unite, FAST, we are DOOMED. This means no more Democrat vs. Republican, Liberal vs. Conservative, Black vs. White, Muslim vs. Christian....WE *ALL* need to put this CRAP aside and UNITE AS *AMERICANS* and STOP this before it's too late. THEN we can address the divisions of today.

    As they said in the talk, for the actual carriers, this often will not matter, the antena you are connecting from already reveals a lot of information about your location. They don't really need your GPS info.
    If you use dumb phones, you could potentially try to circumvent by having multiple prepaid sims and phones and only use one at any time, mixing them up every now and then(or if you have money enough for multiple smartphones).

I believe that if anyone have embarrasing stuff and they have any of that stuff public I think they have chosen to do that on their own. If they did that I think maybe they should have given it an extra thought before going public.

I do use facebook - just a little - about 1-2 times per month. "I have a life outside facebook" When I am not using facebook I close the internet window so the facebook cookie can't track my other browsing which again means - I still decide what is public. • @HeinrichChristiansen
      @HeinrichChristiansen 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@butteredtoast8666 Hello there,
      This comment was up for about 7 years and you are the first to comment on my comment. In the passed time I haven't changed my mind at all, it has actually been strengthened.
      RFCs are in different forms:
      - Request For Comments.
      - RFC as a set of given rules for e.g. a protocol.
      I'm not exactly sure which of them you are referring to but this message is my RFC to you.
      I wonder if it answers your question?!?
      One thing is surveillance, another thing is hacking and in the question of hacking I am totally against it and some hackers have already found out that I mean business about that. I track their attacking IP, which may be a system that has been hacked, but then the SysAdmins will be notified about their system being compromised. So on hacking I'm doing my own RFC: I want to tell the hackers how perfect they are at failing their mission, well at least when they try to attack my personal system.

    I guess I must have pissed someone off - Almost just like I'm pissing someone off in here - Right Wesley. From Wesley's comment it looks like I touched (for him) a sensitive area. If you think of it - Not all attacks are DDoS right?!? I'm not a hacker myself but I am trying to learn from what I experience so I can Protect against it and that goes for Surveillance too.

  • @HeinrichChristiansen

    Of course - Installing a trojan or backdoor is a possibility but then it is also somewhat unlikely because when I download anything I intend to install I start with just download it then wait about a week's time for the antivirus that updates and scans every day to catch it. Then when the week is over I install it. So that possibility is somewhat diminished. About facebook cookies - I know that too - and you are right - at least most of it. Usually I consider all kinds of Toolbars to be spyware

    A gps device is old school . Today’s instant data analysis check allows instant history and events as well as document graphic daily events that one just has to press a search . The computers are always collecting for that instant request for a search. Do it’s just a instant human collection. From a computer that is always full data all cameras and voice no matter who has ownership or write it is located. So collection data is not acceptable for court . But it is being used to pressure local enforcement to do heavy violation of laws to allow further data to be used without awareness of how other data was collected or even if it was on other devices . No freedom or privacy with contractors using to help develop smart data to hide the ability of law to do what they can’t do. And pay well as they use all other collection devices for full collection snd tracking with non standard computer systems developers for government agency’s That allows a hidden world of data for instant use with very high level of graphics and data display for instant request. All data is fully computerized analysis and ready 24 7 faster than one can blink with Data so powerful that one can not even be allowed to see his own data as it is not mentally acceptable display that one can just walk away and know a computer truly may as well be them as it’s collected much fuller and accurate than even a human with photo Memory recognition could come close to being able to be so fully exposed for as long as one has lived in many cases . Yet we have computer attacks how can we spend so much and yet have the wrong strengths to protect our nation .

    Well - I am aware of the potential consequenses ever since I made it public about 17 years ago and I have been expecting something to happen but so far nothing bad has happened well almost nothing - Some attacks on my site or the computer I use but otherwise nothing and all the time it withstood the challenges and still does - the only real bad insidence was the one with microsoft's hacker who couldn't leave the hacking off the work - I'm guessing it was a script kiddie. Thanks for the concern

  • @HeinrichChristiansen
    @HeinrichChristiansen 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No they didn't tell me directly but in the newsflash on the radio they pinpointed that the person that was fired was working on the development og MSN and that he had actively been discovered while he was hacking someone. Does that count?!? And about hacking - Maybe I don't know all the details about hacking and the massiveness of an attack but then why did the attack start within 1 hour after I closed the backdoor and why did the attack last day and night for full 3 days?!? Anyone know that?

  • @HeinrichChristiansen
    @HeinrichChristiansen 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well I'm guessing it was a bot net - It happened with 2-3 server requests per second (about 10000 per hour) - from loads of different ip's - I think I may have a good reason to think it was a bot net - A single attacker is usually using 1 ip and usually it's FTP attacks

    ... The INCOMING IP came from a computer which I tracked to be in the MSN Development Block so I reported the incident to Microsofts Abuse department and sure enough where I described what I experienced and that I had tracked the IP to the specific computer in the Microsoft block. I checked it by noting the IP's before and after the disabling LoadQM and when I enabled it again it continued so I'm sure it was from there. A few months later in the news there was a message about the hacker. ...

    I hate what our gov't is doing, however, at the end of the day there is a big difference between the police sneaking onto my property and sticking a GPS to my car and my agreeing to pay money to them for this cool GPS receiver that I'll carry in my pocket.
    What I do disagree with, is the fact that if I want to turn off that tracking I don't have the ability to do it, other than turning the phone off and not using it.

      Glenn Hancock I disagree. I don't pay for a device to constantly give my coordinates. I pay for a device I use for communication and using the internet. asking that it doesn't constantly give my location, name, and a multitude of other things is not is completely reasonable, and should be done.

Paired with a card none can exactly tell who it belongs to and do your remaining communication over machines you control (or last last think you do (or can)). Shits fucked up and has to be changed from the top. Considering most battery are glued in nowadays... We give up our autonomy for small conveniences - a smart dictatorship if u ask me.

    Not true. For something as simple as dissident speech on a blog that mentions your name passively they can (and have) put trackers on you and built cases that eventually make it to the circuit courts based explicitly on words you didn't write, and your travel patterns. Even if you win the case, you still lose because in this country, regardless of what the "law is" you are guilty until proven innocent.

    You probably mistakenly installed a trojan/backdoor, or some random guy managed to, and when you disabled it, the remote program was still trying to connect a couple times a second, or the attacker got mad and tried to DoS you. Since the LoadQM program is a part of MSN Messenger it makes sense that there would be incoming connections from their servers... Perhaps the trojan was controlled through MSN messages?
