  • The Toyota Corolla GR is FINALLY HERE! Possibly the most hyped up car of the year is a 100% Toyota built hot hatch that has big promises. With all wheel drive, 300HP, and so much more to offer - the GR Corolla is almost in a league of its own with no Ford Focus RS, Mitsubishi Evo, or Subaru STI to challenge it in the market. So was it worth all the hype? Let's for a drive and find out.

I feel like a lot of companies are losing touch with their core consumers. Getting rid of options that made people choose their products in the first place (Samsung getting rid of the micro sd card slot on flagship and high end models comes to mind) making absolutely boring shit (Mitsubishi). End of day, most people wouldn't know how to actually run these companies, but at least they wouldn't be so out of touch with what the people want.

I think the last really "sporty" Corolla we got in the states was the 05-06 XRS, which had the Lotus Elise powertrain in it. I think this car is going to hold value extremely well. Better than STi’s. Which is good for people in the north east with the rain being such a factor in depreciation on buying a new car. Being that said, even with the new design which I love! And this awd system for winters. It’s an amazing set up for 37k plus tax don’t get me wrong. I’m first in the list at my local dealer for one. But I have seen from Ryan ( Toyota drift member) he only uses this car in 50/50 mode. And other reviews prove this point further, that the 60/40 and 70/30 splits don’t actually help the car oversteer because it lacks the power to due so ( on the Michelin tires it comes with) Ryan himself did the debut demo donuts in the gr corolla In his vlog stating the only usable mode stock on the gr corolla is the 50/50 split.
