1. learn how to study. science of learning, 20%, don’t overprepare
2. academics are not your whole life. there are a lot of opportunities outside that.
3. make each city your own. explore it in a way that you like. don’t just go to coffee shops, tech conferences. eg: she did some modelling, went to an American sign language conference. explore the culture through books, movies, language classes
4. it won’t be like the foundation year after the foundation year. community will break out in groups, you will find the things you want to do outside the community. everyone has their own schedule after the first year and academics become easier.
5. learn the difference between compassion and empathy, practice compassion more. don’t absorb other peoples emotions.
6. dating: there are many different ways to do it. do what feels right. some people are in a long distance relationship with someone from home, some use tinder and bumble, some met their love while travelling, some date within minerva. don’t feel the pressure of dating someone. don’t feel pressured to date.
7. create a culture of negativity. don’t complain to bond. uplift everyone instead of projecting your shit.
8. don’t save up on food. your health is priceless. don’t just eat noodles. invest in your health.
9. embrace the joy of missing out. there is always something going on. it’s okay to say no sometimes.
10. don’t get caught up in negativity. focus on how you’re living your dream. you have a lot of things that you always wished for. always be grateful.
I just loved all the advice!!! I've been wanting to apply to Minerva since my second year of High School (like 5, 6 years ago hahahaha). But I think this time I'll actually do it!
