  • This is common problem but easy fix in all BMW cars.
    Similar procedures for all N62 engines in BMW e53 X5 e60 e61 e63 e64 e65 e66
    Other 4 and 6 cylinders in 2002-2015 BMW should be the same.

    Isn't there a vacuum hose that connects to the cap of the one on the passenger side? Also, are they sold as a pair or just singles? Thanks!

    If these are fine what else could be the cause of the rough idle and smoke exchaust

      You may wanna check spark plugs and coils. If all is well, then have injectors cleaned.

      If you properly replaced these and your 100 percent sure you don’t have vacuum leaks it will 100 percent be the valve stem seals

    How should the car stop smoking after replacing is it immediately or few days

    • @DurianGarage
      @DurianGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If this diaphragm is the cause, smoke should stop within the next drive.

    • @animalgift692
      @animalgift692 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it still smoke what might be the cause because am driving 540i E60 V8.. the smoke is not continuous, when it idles for like 3mins when i drive it releases a white smoke then the smoke is gone again until i stop again on traffic then same problem all over again

      Although your symptom sounds like accumulated oil puddle in intake plenum, which burns out during driving and causes smoke, but next step might be might me valve stem seal. Before going further, just be sure the ccv valve is correctly replaced and the plastic casing/cap is bone dry.

    What cold air intake is that? Also have links to the kits you bought?

    • @DurianGarage
      @DurianGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This intake filter kit was customized just for the looks (K&N Cone filter, silicone hose, and fiberglass cover) . I think the factory intake set was good enough. :)

    I can't find that cap with the male fit here in Arizona. They only sell the female.

      you ever find out anything more? currently going thru the same issue. Tech on the phone was telling me that the original way was to connect the hoses to the caps. Apparently now BMW recommends not to connect those hoses. Thats why its made without the little barb

    • @gaijinxrecords6683
      @gaijinxrecords6683 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SRG420 well, I just put the caps they gave me on it so it has a whistle for a blow off technically. Ha. The reason that these aren't male anymore is because they changed the whole setup. I believe it was called pcv breather setup. So just throw the new caps on and be cool with or order the whole setup which I think still ends up doing the same thing
