    Sir, is this was a recall?
    Because I have the same issue with my 2005 BMW X5 E53 4.4i.
    Can you help me please.
    Thank you Sir!

    In the video you see a CCV membrane (the round cover mentioned) on the drivers side only. The cover mentioned for the passenger side that has the same round cover has a CCV too. If you do not have that on your passenger cover, then the tube going from cover to the other cover's CCV should have its own CCV in it and a connection to the block in the middle (see 0:52 for the tube without CCV). So: either you have a CCV on each cover, or you have on on the cover and one in the tube. Same 'pot', same round cover and same orange membrane inside. The problem? These membranes become hard and the tubes/membrane housings become sludged with oil/condensation and thus get clogged. So if you replace the membranes, do take off the tube and clean everything thoroughly. One CCV for both banks apparently is not enough.

      Correct...that what was left out when the part s were ordered. The update covers have a separate CCV. Thank you for your comment. If you have not already subscribed to our tstseminars TH-cam channel please do so. Interested in more training? Go to www.tstseminars.org

      thanks for your comment...the problem was that there was an update on the cover...the parts supplier messed up and did not have the external tube and CCV. We had to get that from the BMW dealer. Thanks for watching and sharing ... If you have not already Subscribed to our tstseminars TH-cam channel please do so. Interested in more training? So you're saying it can function appropriately with just the one CCV on the drivers side? I don't see where the diaphragm is within the tube housing; the tube housing looks awfully small.

    Wow great info. Thanks. Hey I'm getting a P2187 & 89 pending code here and there then it goes away. But more importantly I cannot get my secondary air or the Evap to get ready for the emissions test. Could it be its running lean because of a vacuum leak? Same engine btw and the car drives & sounds perfectly. Lmk please. Thanks

      Without looking at your scan data I would guess that you have an issue with both of the systems that is preventing the Monitors from become Ready. Hello i have a 04 545i that smokes valve covers doesnt seem to be leaking spark plugs are bone dry but i do get that sound when opening the oil cap and dip stick. Can it be the factory breather hoses or oil separator???

    • @TSTseminars
      @TSTseminars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      John it sounds like it could be. If you have a manometer or know someone that does you can check the reading to make sure. Usually about 60k and over the problem appears. Hope that helps...thanks for watching. If you have not already subscribed to our tstseminars TH-cam channel please do so. Interested in more training? Your stem seals could still be on their way out even if the plugs appear to be dry.
      Try running 10w40 high mileage oil (it's a bit thicker but still technically in spec for an N62).
      In case it's just lifer tick you might also be able to fix it by doing the bleeding trick. Start her up and keep her above 3500RPM for about 5 minutes. I have to do this whenever my N62 sits for 2 long without being driven but it shuts it right up for months as long as I drive it at least every few days.

    The driver side PCV valve is external. Put that in and will be fixed. There is no need for a new cover.

      Just change the 2 PCV valves if you have the old valve covers. They are cheap and easy to replace

    Could the noise be random sometime little louder than other times

    • @TSTseminars
      @TSTseminars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      David that maybe possible...if you have over 75k on the engine you should check the breather/PCV system to make sure the crankcase pressure is within specification.
