Your next video should be about how you got into consulting, what school you went to, what major you studied and how your teachings lead you to your current job. Would love to see that!

You go to school where you will become an expert in a specific field. Then you finish your masters degree and maybe even do a phd. Then after that you can offer consulting to anyone in that field.. yes it is that simple. Will anyone be interested? Maybe. Consultant=sell yourself and your service to a company

Could you do a video about how you get the job in consulting? Also, how do young consultants accumulate expertise advice to solve the clients' problems, which are often large businesses?

From what I’ve seen in DC, you basically just need to come from a rich family or school (ie Georgetown)... talent, hustle, intellect, friendliness and courtesy are all tangential
Go take a look on LinkedIn and you’ll see how many people with the title “consultant” at Deloitte, Accenture, etc were just basically handed a job. Mommy and daddy matter more than anything

Hello Mrphantom, just in case you still need help. I just got into the consultant field through a program Microsoft has for student. It is called MACH (Microsoft Academic for College Hire). If you are a bachelor or master student, you can apply for it. You must either be 2 or 1 semester away from graduation or has graduated less than a year ago. Feel free to ask me if you have more questions. Good day!!!

i'm a newbie in my current job, which is a PR Consultant agency. It was always frustrating to explain what I actually do, since as you have said in the video, consultants handle several clients from various fields. We do different strategic with each client, so it's kind of tricky to explain it, but your brief explanation sums up the basic people need to know! Thanks for this, now I guess I can simply show people your video, or at least know how to explain it in the simple way haha

my career path is the exact opposite to yours :P I started out as a strategic business consultant for 2 years. it was a great job/career if you love problem solving and learning about different industries. I got to do a lot of interesting projects with many types of clients. And yes travel is key but sometimes a major stress as well. But after 2 years it just wasn't what I was looking for so now I'm breaking into PR.. Just got my first PR job at an MCN and I'm pretty excited, though scared to my wits as well since I have no prior knowledge or experience in the fields. So fingers crossed! I think that you have a thoughtful explanation on what is consulting and what does a consultant do! I'm senior undergraduate student and I'm interested in working as a consultant after I graduate, can you give me any advises for me to do for the interviews and resumes?

    Hi Kay,
You mentioned about an alternative deliverable method in the video. Would you be able to share what tools you use?
