I’m enrolled in the holistic wellness pathway through Hill College (and LOVING it!!!) and we’re just starting our deep dive on herbs. I’m amazed by them! And I love the self-awareness that herbalism encourages. You have to know yourself well and know the herbs well to choose herbs with the proper energetics not only for the issue you’re treating but also for your own constitution. Truly amazing art and science all wrapped in one!!! ❤

I use stinging nettles in almost all of my teas, I just love it! Its wonderful with Spearmint or any mint really 😍 One of the best little herbala to take for the Cvid time. I do a blend of Nettles, cinnamon, Astragalus root, licorice root and a few others specifically for the viral season..
The Astragalus does give it slightly woody taste but its more of just a herbal taste not straight up wood.
Nettles has so many vitamins & minerals though which is perfect for fall/winter use.
Vit A,C,D, quercetin (polyphenol), calcium, iron, Potassium, fatty acids and amino acids.
Besides just the vitamins & mineral content, its just a great overall little plant.. It can help protect the liver from damage from heavy metals, toxins etc.
Its great for hair too, I use it in my hair rinse!
Shouldn't take it internally though if preggers and/or have severe blood pressure issues as it can mess with BP meds.
I love watching you two in your Apothecary. I am hoping (God willing) that some day I will have my own medical and herbal practice with a large Apothecary attached to the medical practice. I LOVE all things herbal. God is SO neat to provide all that we need to aid us in healing and gracious to show us how!!

Thank you for your insight into your process. Everyone has their own way of choosing herbs (sometimes they choose us!) Newbie here as of today. I enjoyed this one so much. For about 2 years I have made an overnight infusion of mixed herbs. I love drinking it cold and my additive is lemon juice. I don't drink anything other than water and teas and some coffee here and there. I was happily surprised, after seeing some of the different herbs you used, are some of the same I've been using. I'm mostly a dabbler and a dreamer when it comes to herbalism. I have grown though over the past couple of years, and I plan to delve even deeper and get my certificate in the near future. I made up a small bottle of mullein oil and I am amazed at the speed which it works on rashes, small cuts, and gasp, (some in the family have used it for hemorrhoids) which I assured them it was safe for that. They were so surprised at the instant relief! But I digress. I love that you and mama are a team!

I have never commented on any videos, but I feel I needed to just let you know my experience. I have CHF ( congestive heart failure) with a mitral valve prolapse.
I chose to use herbs that have natural beta blockers instead of the synthetic approach. I decided to use Astragalus root every morning as tea. It has done wonders for me! I'm not an herbalist, but I've been studying herbs since 1995, and this one worked for me. You both have opened my eyes to nutrition as well as my overall health. I used to have heart episodes every day ( multiple times a day), and now I have maybe one every two months. Thank you!!! My family thanks you as well!!
    Good bless!

Loved this video. In the past few years I have gotten into herbal teas. The "Stop and Go" blend sounds wonderful. I definitely need to start growing more herbs, etc to make my own blends.
I just had my first cup of Goldenrod Tea - thanks to you ladies. I loved it and now Goldenrod is hanging up to dry. To think I just thought it was a pretty yellow weed. My cousin's front pasture is next to ours and is loaded with it. I talked to my other cousin and she is drying some as well. She grew up around here and knows more on foraging then me. Her problem is her health, she cannot get out like she used to.
I was talking to one of my boys last night and he mention he cannot have herbal teas which is a favorite of his. He just had a kidney transplant over a month ago. I ask what he did with his extra tea and he said I threw it all out so it would not be there to remind me.

Watching you and your mom makes me wish I had of had that kind of relationship with my mom. She left the family home when I was 13 and it was not till I was 50 that I forgave her. She just passed this year at 94. She was the best gardener of foods and flowers that I have ever come across. Had I had a better relationship with her I would have benefited from her green thumb. I have many herbal books but will be purchasing more so that I can have a better understanding of their uses. I was shocked when I read that echinacea really was not a flu cold remedy but more for sepsis etc. It will be women like you and your mom that will help us to be able to help our families stay healthy without chemical drugs. Thank You. ps. my husband used stinging nettle for years for his allergies but only the freeze dried form worked for him. We now live where he does not have seasonal allergies. :-)

This was fun to watch. It was interesting that it came up for viewing at this time, as I have been thinking about trying Ashwagandha in some form for myself and a friend. So have decided to try a tea as the nutty flavor sounds good along with the calming effect and am thinking of red clover to add to it. Just have to double check if that was the adaptogen your spoke of.
So far, I have made three tinctures (jewelweed with Witch Hazel for a family member, corn silk with 100 proof vodka for a friend and Golden rod with 80 proof vodka). I found and dried mullein but haven’t used it yet. What started it all was watching a channel that came up randomly teaching how to forage for White Pine pine needles and making a tea. It was very mild but delicious. And now I’m hooked.😀. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.

Good day sweet ladies,. i just found you a couple of days ago and subscribed. I have issues with cold sores and they are huge and i get sick from them, my salivary glands start acting up when i have them. I have hot and cold flashes from them, it's horrible. I used to take anti virus medication all through winter but my gp won't give them to me anymore as she feels like i take a lot of medication already. (oxycodon and other pain meds) .. The doctor that always used to give them to me is no longer in the practise and so i have to deal with this gp that i have always had problems with. For me it's about quality of life and not quantity to be honest and so if i would die a little earlier taking these meds i would be fine with that. Sorry this is such a long message but i feel like i have to say all this to make clear how much this effects me in life. I have tried ALL the things that people say works for them and they just do NOT for me.. The gp that gave these anti virus meds once said he never saw cold sores this bad in his carreer. Now for my question of course... what would you suggest i take to help me get rid of them or even prevent them from happening?? again i have tried all the things under the sun as far as i know. I do take lysine tablets all winter. Please please please can you help me figure this out?? Thank you for listening, lots of kisses from Holland xxx Juliette

And normally around my period i get so angry i stay away from people. Since I've been using these two i have been so much more able to cope with life. Also tmi our sex life improved like 100% literally all over each other when b4 all we wanted to do was try and get sleep. 😂

I love your channel and am in the process of switching the bulk of our medicine cabinet to natural herbal remedies. I have dealt with respiratory issues since I was two and used to drink a commercially available respiratory tea that helped me tremendously. The manufacturer discontinued the product. Is there any way you would consider blending it and selling it?
It has eucalyptus leaf, licorice root, slippery elm bark, wild cherry bark, elecampane rhizome, marshmallow root, spearmint leaf, West Indian lemongrass leaf, lemon peel, stevia leaf, and lemon myrtle leaf.
It helped me so much and I am so sad not to have it anymore.

We could look into that blend there are some herbs on the list that we already have, some we may have to look at acquiring from ethical sources

This combination sounds like it was made for me. The only thing is I’m already on a therapeutic dose of ashwagandha. What you y’all suggest for an adjustment?

I'd like to make a video suggestion if possible. I'm really interested in hearing more about your process of staging your herbs as well as the different bases (First base, second, third) as mentioned in the video.
I feel as though I've heard this discussed before however I'm struggling to find much information on this.
Hope you see this, thank you!

I would call it Daytime delight. Didn't know nettle would help with urinary health. I have had kidney stones for years.

THANK YOU so much for sharing this information. I was so surprised to see you boil the herbs. It was my understanding that you add boiled water to the herbs and allow them to infuse for about 8 min. I thought boiling destroyed some of the nutrient. Can you please share your thoughts on this.🙏

Thank you for all the information on medicinal herbs you share. I have used essential oils for the last few years to help my husband with his degenerative arthritis and degenerative disc disease. I am a nurse. I would like to add medicinal herb to my knowledge for my patients also. I'm loving the content you put out. My question is about the Tulsi or Holy Basil you are using in this video, what is the scientific name? There are so many different one's when looked up.

I enjoyed watching you thoughtfully come up with a wonderful tea blend.
I'm new to the herb world. Last night I had a cup of lemon balm tea before bed. It was good but kinda bland. I we wondering about adding red raspberry leaf to boost the flavor. Would that be a good blend?
