I am 56. About 15 years ago, a friend asked me why I was doing something and before I knew what I was saying, I said to my friend, " so we, my children (I have 5) and hopefully all generations after me can have this knowledge and benefit from it" It wasn't until that moment and I verbalized it, that I knew my why. I have 10 grandchildren now and so far ALL of them are being taught some of those things I was doing 20 years ago. I am now learning herbs for the same reason....I have one granddaughter doing herbs with me and most of the grandkids humor me and take my herbal 'concoctions'😂 May they take what they have learned and know MORE than us!
It's beautiful to watch all my favorite creators (almost at the same time), being moved to change some of what they are sharing.... I believe this is The Holy Spirit moving 🙏🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌
I think we are all "kindred spirits" here among the followers of The Honeystead. We all have an affinity for the different things you share. I am 69 years old and raised three children. I grew many herbs for the past 40 years and quite often cooked with them as well as preserved them for their beauty. That evolved into making healing medicinal salves and teas. I catered small events for about 15 years using my herbs in many recipes simply because they were delicious as well as their health giving properties. Now my interests are delving deeper into foraging and growing some "wild" plants and other greens that are not sold at my local farmers market or garden center. It is an evolution toward using everything the Lord has put in my path and learning from people who cross my life. My dear - I look forward to the future and learning more from you and others so that I can pass it on. blessings and thankfulness!!!❤
I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and have been DEVOURING your content. I know we don’t know each other, but you feel like a friend!! I’m SO thankful for all you’ve so generously shared, as I’ve leaned so much. I’m also SUPER excited to join you on your journey-as a community who is passionate about the holistic approach to life, we are walking each other home. 🥰 Thank you for all you do, friend!! I cannot wait to support you now and in the future!!
What a blessing when you find yourself in a new phase of life to take stock in where you have been versus where God wants for your next phase. Blessings
Oh you’re not burdening your children if they have to take care of you. I never heard a person say that they regret they had to take care of their parent toward the end of their life. In fact it helps them grow in faith and stop and think of their own life. Its actually a blessing. We all are going to die one day. You are doing a good thing because most people now don’t trust the medical system. You are a blessing to us because you motivate us to learn how to take better care of the gift of our bodies the way God designed it to be. Thank you so much. 💐
Oh yes I completely agree! I should clarify... we are caregivers to my grandmother and she is so healthy! We are so thankful that she took care of herself by walking, eating healthy, never smoking etc... It makes me see that I want to do the same for my children when it is my time. Caring for people who didn't take care of themselves is completely different then the ones who do 💛
@@TheHoneystead I’m 72, taking care of my 96 year old mother who’s in a wheelchair, almost blind with macular degeneration and almost completely deaf. But her mind is still very sharp. A very sad situation. I don’t want to do this to my children. I will find a plant decoction to help myself check out before I get to where I can’t take care of myself. But I so love you and your channel. I just started my herbalism journey a little over a year ago. I never knew I could make my own medicine! I have many tinctures and oils made and this winter is my time to learn all about them and what they offer. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and life with us! 🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻
I’m 45 and have taken care of my elders before they passed. We have our own garden and apothecary and cooking nourishing meals for them brought me the greatest joy and now they are gone I’m turning my focus to my baby niece. I will treasure the meals I cooked and shared with my elders. My parents are still young (mid 60s). So for the moment I’m doing more on my home garden and apothecary.
You are so right about your future self. The good care I took in my 30's serves me well today in my 50's, and herbs and nutrition are the center of that. 100%.
Hello! I have now seen a couple of your videos, and I am hooked! You’re talking to us from your heart, just as if we were the neighbors down the road. That’s what touches me. Thank you for putting yourself ‘out there’.
I love your content and I have learned a lot from you. It IS information that is being forgotten. Homemade things are a little or more work that fast food kind of life. I appreciate you VERY much. I hope you live your life to the fullest with your family and if you choose to post- I will watch it ❤😊❤
Kaylee, I watched your videos for about a year. I haven't watched in a while but you influenced me to go to herbalism school. You taught me how to find a good one. I'm mostly through the first year and I've learned so much. I don't know if I want to be a clinical herbalist, but I know this has made my life better. Thank you
Girl. I think I speak globally, WE LOVE YOU taking us along your journey! I know I`ve learned a ton through your classes and I want more. Someday I`d like to come for a workshop. Bless you and your family 💜Kim
Glad I watched you tonight I started making herbal medicine this year. I lost my mum of 95 7 days ago and while watching y. slept more than 3 hrs a night for the past week I have valerian Tincture that I made so fingers crossed tonight I shall sleep.Thank you so much
Wowza!! the 40s are the BEST! thank you for all you contribute, you have made a profound impact in my world....pushing out walls, building dreams, and admiring with gratitude, fellow women (and men) getting back to whats really important. you are a ture gift!!
You're just a youngin!! I will be 49 in March! Unreal how time flies!! So glad I found herbalism several years ago and foraging many more than that. Such a good life!
I am here for whatever life revolutions you have coming into your space, we can't grow as a person without change. You are a big inspiration for me. We are similar in a way yet different, I will 39 next year and will be celebrating my 19th anniversary in March. I don't have any kid, but have plenty nieces and nephews. The last few years I have heard the call of being self sufficient, to go holistic more than I have before and to become an herbalist in hopes to fill a void around my rural area, to help spread the word about alternative ways to heal and to be healthy. I just started my own herbal journey full time last Spring and my soul is soaring finally. Thank you for everything you have shared and everything you will continue to share.
I think whatever you choose to share with the world will be a gift my dear. You have been such an educational source for me and I find a sense of serenity watching your videos. Thank you for letting us into our life a little bit ❤
Hi Kaylee. For few moments there I thought you were about to cry. Your children are fast approaching adulthood and we keep getting older. I will tell you this, when I turned 30 I was so depressed. Silly really, 30. My life was very hard in my thirties. But when I turned 40, wow! I felt great! I looked good, had an excellent job, but then my body began to change little by little. That is why I began to learn about herbs and wild edibles, because when I turned 51 the big "change" hit me and it hit me hard. So take it from someone who knows, I wish I knew in my thirties what I know now. You are heading in the right direction. Keep up the good work you lovely thing you.
I'm one who have never thought twice about having poop on my jeans dirt in my hands and something I can say after watching your videos you have inspired me to look more into herbs and just naturally growing everything that we are supposed to as a god-fearing person. In 2017 my husband and I decided we're not eating pork no more because it says in the Bible that we are not to eat pork so why not if we know that we are not supposed to eat pork then that's a sin that we're disobeying. Growing your own food knowing where it comes from there is such an honor and just thanking the lord himself for the food that he's provided you as your person to grow and raise and butcher and then on table it's a wonderful feeling my health has not been the greatest but I can say that since changing my diet and really looking at what I'm eating and paying attention to what does what to my body and how I feel being my own doctor has made such a difference in such a blessing. Thank you for sharing till next time God Bless.
I found your site as a new beekeeper and have been drawn to watching regularly as you seem to speak the same language as me, herbs, garden, bees, life. I find your videos so inspiring and even though I am nearly twenty years older, have learned so much and continue to do so. Thank you for sharing and teaching us all. Love your phrase at the end too 🥰 🙏🏻
I'll still be here. I'm growing in herbalism and medicinals. You're one of my mentors and inspirations to try new things. I grow a lot but I don't know how to use what I grow. Thanks.
Thank you again for a great video. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that doesn't get around to pressing their tinctures until months after they're ready. That's the great thing about them. And don't worry about changing things up. We all go through different stages in our life time. That's what makes life interesting. Ecclesiastes 3:1-For every matter there is an appointed time, even a time for every pursuit under the heavens...
I love your videos!! I have started my garden but getting them to take has been difficult. I am learning what kind of soil these plant like and building garden beds for them. I have mullin taking off and I think echinacea but I may be wrong on that one.😂 I’m excited for spring. Over the winter I’m setting up everything and give the soil time to marinate and absorb as much nutrients as possible
I am focusing on feeding myself and my family in a more healthy way. And an alternative lifestyle from the mainstream. As I sat down to peel 10 lbs of potatoes to meal prep mashed potatoes for the freezer i wanted something to watch while I did it. I'm all caught up on Roots and Refuge, so I came to your channel to catch up. And it was perfect timing. Because I needed a good reminder while my hands were cramping up why I was peeling 10 lbs of potatoes! Thank you Kayleigh. As always, I get so much from your chamnel
I don't comment often, I guess but I'm brought such joy by your videos! Whether you are foraging with Grandma or the puppy (who's not quite a puppy anymore), tending your lovely colonies of honeybees, harvesting from your planted apothecary, making tinctures or teas... Doesn't matter specifically what you're doing - I always learn something, get a message that seems pointed right at me, and feel blessed to have watched and HEARD you. I am proudly 52 years old and my oldest child is nearly as old as you. I tell you that only to say this: A person is never too old to learn, regardless of the age of the teacher. I am quickly reaching the age where more of the medical professionals I see for myself or my children tend to be my age or younger and it is a little jarring to think about. (It feels like not so long ago, every doctor was substantially older than me and therefore easier to realize they were "smarter".) So please, keep on sharing what you're led to share or teach - I am one who is totally here for it!
Interesting that you said your reasons were for your children and their future. I have recently come to the same conclusion ,sadly, much later than you. My father has dementia and I fear my children having to go through the same with me. Thank you for your insight and confirmation this is a good path. Blessings
❤ iv been.....away from my normal, the last while and I am so glad I saw your video pop up this morning. Thank you for bringing us along and sharing open heartedly. 😊
Kaylee, thank you so much for following the lead of the Holy Spirit! Through your obedience, you are allowing others to learn how to care for ourselves. The Bee Attuned is fantastic and I am anxiously waiting for your book. I highly recommend your and Jill’s online herbalism class to anyone that wants to start diving deeper into the world of herbalism. Although I live on a tiny property on a small lake , I am currently revamping my landscape to grow mostly medicinals. And with Camp Mack’s woods behind me, I’m blown away by all I can forage. I may not know the names of the plants but , I can recognize that it’s “ something “ and dig out the Petersons. Hoping to come down to your neck of the woods for a class and do some hiking this season as well. Continue walking in faith and trusting the lead of the Spirit, and you will always be exactly where you need to be at any given time. Blessings on you and yours!
I am in this same mindset of life. My children are in their 30s, and my husband and I are knocking on retirement's door. Doing what we can to reduce our childrens "burden" while imparting to or documenting for their benefit life lessons is the legacy we want to leave for them. It's a scary phase of life but we are working on embracing it. God will be with you; lean on him.
You touch my heart with every video, but especially this one…..I’m 75…If I knew then what I know NOW…..If only I could have raised my kids this way….My husband hates the smell of valerian root…..I don’t mind it at all! I throw it into teas I make for myself! I’ll be making a tincture now! You’ve changed my ideas of natural meds…..those that God gave us, so much! I’m so thrilled I found you! My son just made your version of Elderberry Syrup when he and his wife were sick…within 2 days they felt like going to work (over the weekend) and were FINE! I’m making it for us and our daughter and grands! Thank you for all you teach us!!!❤❤❤
oh I adore you so much, you share my passion so much just the same !!!!! and my bday was Nov 26th and I turned 40. everyone always thinks I'm so very very young. I have a 20 yr old a 16 yr old a 14 yr old and a 6 yr old. :) you're just like us !!! my husband does the bees I do the herbs and wound healing stuff :)
This is the conversation we all need to be a part of. Many blessings. And don’t worry about the dairy, the goal has always been interdependence, not doing it all as one individual. Community will be key.
It see.s that your heart intuitively knew your why before you could verbalize it.❤ This reminds me of a verse "God will give us the desire of our heart"psalm 37:4..this means to me that He planted that seed of desire for you.❤
I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR CONTENT.🥰. I am a very sick person. My body decided to freeze up with an Ebstein Barr Virus back in May. (No known cure). One big practice I have to do is to calm the li.bis system...You are a calming presence for me...And I havebig goals to get closest to source healing..ie natural..So..Thank you also for all you teaching.
Cool friend, hello! That's what I'm talking about! ❤ Delicious skin care & we love you! Love the skin you're in 😊! Enjoy adding hot or warm water to a teaspoon of it , that's an energy boost!! Proud of you for doing an excellent work for your honey stead family! Enjoy the season! Meow!
You have inspired me and my family very much over the past couple years. I'm very grateful for everything you have shared with us and I look forward to the content to come. Keep up the great work and I'll keep getting my hands dirty. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family 🦃❤️
I enjoy every one of your videos. I’ve been wanting to expand my knowledge in this field, because I lost my grandmother to dementia, and she was the herbalist of the family. All of her knowledge died with her when she couldn’t remember anything she taught me. The one thing I absolutely hate about losing her decades ago is her mushroom knowledge. I never got to learn that from her.
@ I’m in the process of finding land so I can get a small farm. Just trying to find the right piece of property. I would love to grow 90% of my food and medicine.
You are amazing I'm so glad I found your channel months ago. you are a very relaxing person and so fun to learn from Im almost 60 and you are 8 years older than my daughter. and I have learned so much from you in just a few months. just keep up the good work and be you .
I love your content, and I love that it will be evolving. 💫 I am also a herbalist, (I do traditional as well as folk/spiritual herbalism) I’m 61 and infuse rose in a blend of oils for my evening face oil. My skin actually looks very youthful. Love rose 🌹
This is maybe a bit of a random request, but could you please make a video showing how you clean and ensure your equipment and workspace is clean and sanitised for working with your herbs? For example, I've always wondered about the clay grinding bowl is that wold require a full wash or simply needs brushed out. Do bottles get hand washed or be put in the dishwasher? Love all your videos, thank you so much! :)
You are doing a good job. Just remember that in this life some things you can change some you cant. It would appear that you are teaching your kids the proper way. In other cultures it is not a burden to look after your parents, it is considered an honor and it is done with love. Sadly in the modern world we are in now, that way of life has been lost and it is not valued. Most of your fear of getting old and being a burden to your kids is not necessary now, because it can cause health issues for you, being now worried about future. So it's a double pain, you hurt now and you will hurt in old age. Keep on living a clean life as you do, teach your kids to be humble and respect mother nature, parents and keep God in their life. Doing good in this life gets imprinted in our souls karma and we evolve as a result. You have helped many, and you should be proud of that. I wish you all the best.
Jesus is the reason! I am a beek so was drawn to your site through that. I thank God that I seem to have always been led to sites that have spiritual reasons for their lifes work! Have a blessed day. Enjoy your content.
Have you ever made rose water ?? It’s nice to spray on external.. I use rose petals with witch hazel to extract then strain and pour in a spray bottle and mist .. it helps dark spots and nice on hot summer days…
Hit me in the UK 🫶 and I'm honoured to listen in to what you have to say. It's always a pleasure and I cannot wait to try the honey and roses ❤️ happy new year to you and all your loved ones.
Praying for your new chapter in life. Love what you do and share with so many people. I'm still learning about this. I was wondering do you use rose petals to make that mask ? God has a plan for everyone ,hope you grow what he has planted for you . God bless and have a happy thanksgiving and a merry Christmas.
I have a friend! I grow a lot of herbs! You and others have helped me learn! I am having a synchronicity in my life! I made fire cider vinegar! He ran out elderberry syrup! Long story short, He is going through me car. Mt best friend called 2 minutes later.Car died, cane field. Our friend, the 1/4 mile and the body shop is across the street! He towed her! They are going to let it stay there! This could litterally be a Twillight Zone!
My freind a doctor! She works more like we do. I have to grow in pots, so I took them in. I have a kitchen window full of baby herbs, becauase the sun is perfect! Anyway! I showed her pictures! She told me she was so proud of ne. She asked mt to help her plant herb garden in the spring!
I left my extensive nursing career and moved off grid in the mountains of Idaho on 10 acres. Growing everything developing my apothecary, meat and dairy processing facilities. Incorporating music/sound therapy with meditation and all the things! Doing it for my children and grandchildren…….for @ least the next 7 generations ✨🫶🏻✌🏻
Thank you for sharing. Love your channel. Looking forward to your book. Can't wait for the medicinal herbs, how to make them, how long they store well, dosages for the herbs used. Can't wait. Will all this info bee(😅) in your book? ❤2u&all. When does the book come out to buy?
I love your videos. I have learned so much from you and your mom. I want to THANK YOU for sharing your knowledge with us! You do not look your age. My oldest is 40 than I have a 38, 35, and 32 year old. I am learning later in life, but enjoying every minute of it. God has blessed me with my health (I just deal with knee pain and back pain from injuries years ago, but I use natural products.) I am on no medication, while my 4 kids are. My daughter says it is because of your lifestyle - you are in the country, you have your chickens, herbs, and a garden. I was just talking to my 38 year old son about the season and dry skin. He says his skin gets drier quickly since he has had a kidney transplant. I told him I am trying different types of herbal remedies for dry skin because those store bought lotions do not do any good. Any tips? I definitely would love to try the Honey Rose Mask. I am looking forward to getting your book. I love how so many people I follow, have come up with their own books from Homesteading, Recipes, etc. It makes the books extra special.
I guessed you in your late 20’s. Then I saw a video with your teen daughter and figured you must be a little older than I guessed - not because you look it just based on clues. To hear you’re almost 39 is shocking. Keep doing what you’re doing and sharing what you’re doing so we can all do it and stay healthy too. However, I’m a dude and I’ll do the things that keep us healthy but am not doing the mask thing - it’s just not manly enough lol. Keep up the great content!
Hi Kailee (sorry if I misspelled your name 🤔) I just finished watching this episode on TH-cam and have a question about harvesting the valerian root. What is the best time of year? Fall, winter spring? I'm assuming not summer when it is in bloom? Thanks for sharing all that you do 🥰
This one may not be the best for littles! I would try catnip and also focus on a good night routine. Bath, books, keep it calm, and the big thing is to remove anything that could stimulate her mind. 💛
The only constant is change. Thank you for opening your heart and soul to us/me. I have a daughter who is in her mid thirties and having a bit of regression back to being a teenager, I do know that she will go through many changes in the coming years. I love her to bits and sometimes she makes me a bit crazy. Sharing is caring.
Hi, love your content! Question…I get my honey from a local bee keeper. Right now in my area the temperature is like 17 degrees, and I forgot my honey in my vehicle and it froze😮 is it still ok?

Your contents started changing a lot once your mom left the videos. We sure miss her and the old style videos.
Yes, that is true and I do believe at some point she will return once her life isn't as "lifie" 💛
Thank you for all that you do. You are so inspirational to myself and my mom. This summer we are going to move together on a farm of our own.

Always love to listen. .
I am here for this journey, it’s nice to feel that I have someone walking the same path.
I am excited about your book coming out!
Love your phrase at the end too 🥰 🙏🏻
To every thing ,turn turn there is a season, turn turn , and a time for every purpose, under heaven.🙏🏻
This has been my favorite video you’ve shared 💞 so touching and sincere 🫶🏼🥹
YOUR VIDEO IS SO GOOD AND i love that your moving to holistic with all the health with pre paredness in many areas.
Interesting that you said your reasons were for your children and their future. I have recently come to the same conclusion ,sadly, much later than you. My father has dementia and I fear my children having to go through the same with me. Thank you for your insight and confirmation this is a good path. Blessings
You are truly a blessing to me. Thank God for your knowledge and wisdom.
I have been feeling a shift lately. I think we have been. Thank you for being so open and inspiring.
I agree also!!! Stress do unalive people and make us sick. Here for the journey my friend!! 🥰🥰
Thanks for sharing your journey. Change is good and I love your channel. Congratulations on your anniversary ❤🎉
Keep you the great work
Good to see you and we all got to keep moving ❣️
I'm here for all of it! Kaylee I love your soul and how you share so much knowledge with all of us. Thank you!
Thank you for all you teach us!!!❤❤❤
I just turned 40 back in September!!! Happy Birthday!! Whenever it is!! 😂❤
oh I adore you so much, you share my passion so much just the same !!!!! and my bday was Nov 26th and I turned 40. everyone always thinks I'm so very very young.
Kid, you are still sooo young!!
LOVE the brown coat! Excited for you girly ❤
I love all your content ❤
It see.s that your heart intuitively knew your why before you could verbalize it.❤
This reminds me of a verse "God will give us the desire of our heart"psalm 37:4..this means to me that He planted that seed of desire for you.❤
Thank you so much for your info. ❤
I would love to see some of your home cooking recipes as I am trying to cook all our meals from scratch, but need more ideas and pointers ❤
Meow!
Wonderful! As a student of both your YT channel and online courses, I approve! Not that you need it❤️🌿 Be blessed
I would love to see you grow in this space and knowing that your grandmother was an herbalist is simply beautiful to add to your story 💛
As an entrepreneur, your changes are welcome. You said it perfectly, entrepreneurship is all about creativity.
❤ You're a beautiful soul.
I love your content, and I love that it will be evolving. 💫
I am also a herbalist, (I do traditional as well as folk/spiritual herbalism)
I’m 61 and infuse rose in a blend of oils for my evening face oil.
You reminded me I had to make a few things, and yes I made the honey rose facial, along with a couple of other things totally awesome! Thank you❤
You are doing a good job.
Love this!
I have and love it as well!!!
Hit me in the UK 🫶 and I'm honoured to listen in to what you have to say. It's always a pleasure and I cannot wait to try the honey and roses ❤️ happy new year to you and all your loved ones.
That pestle bowl is beautiful and I love the rose and honey face mask. Can’t wait to try that!!!
It's so wonderful!!
That was beautiful. TY
Bee Expo 2025? Are you going it’s the best thing ever
I think it would do most of us a lot of good to slow down and think about the reason why.
I'll forever learn!! Yes, I do use rose petals 🌹
Cool
Hi, how are you preparing the rose buds? Dehydrate? Dry out naturally? Thanks! love this and looking forward to trying!
Thanks for sharing all that you do 🥰
Natures image farm channel and heathy living farm channel are similar wonderful friends of mine. Did you ever do tinksture with bee propolis ?
Where did you get that wonderful mortar and pestal?
It is your content to change
I need to learn how to find valerian in southwest Indiana.
Can ai give valerian tincture to a 7yrs old for help her sleep? A non alcohol base of course. Thank you!! Love your videos ❤❤
She will for sure! 💛 ((hugs))
Hi, love your content!
Question…I get my honey from a local bee keeper. Right now in my area the temperature is like 17 degrees, and I forgot my honey in my vehicle and it froze😮 is it still ok?
Oh I've done that too! You can put the jar in warm water to help or simply enjoy frozen honey.. with is actually delicious!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
How long do you leave the honey face mask on your face?
