    Cars do not lose that much horsepower as people seem to believe. Speak to any car engineer and you’ll learn the opposite. Nose? It’s something you learn early in when taking driving lessons. High cost maintenance? Try owning a Porsche. Tires? It’s can do nearly 200 mph. I hope you would buy good tires. Cheap interior? I hope you guys know that most Porsche boxster have real leather only on the part where your buttocks touches. Yes the rest is pleather and most of the interior is hard plastic. No one buys a corvette expecting a luxury interior. It’s a fast sleek American sports car that you either love or hate. Most children will give you thumbs up while riding the school bus.
    “GMA” has every reason to be proud of this beast and they’ve done a “very nice job….” Herein. This gm logo is a way to pad on the back of every employee currently working the assembly line.
    This corvette has no competitor for it’s price appearance performance and overall icon badge

    Just keep going to you feel something, then back up , lol. But no, I keep the front of my C6 Z pristine by being very very carrrreful! Yup, you should have had a real V8, LS7. Would have solved some of your issues. But maybe you just need a Miata, ha , ha. I have a Boss also, and no car is perfect. But Corvette's really do rock. Start riding in the competition at similar price, and ride, steering and dependability is not there. You have a great first world problem my friend :-)

    Currently have two (2) C6 corvettes, 2007/2008 convertible with a Callaway hypertech chrome package and 2012 grand sport convertible centennial edition. Both LS3 motors, one (1) supercharged, 430 hp @ the rear wheels the other naturally aspirated 430 hp @ the crank. Both @ 30,000 miles, neither is underpowered. These American muscle cars are a great value compared to Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren. Having owned BMW, Jaguar & Mercedes automobiles as well I cannot attest to those interiors being of any different pleather & plastic type materials, it’s what all auto manufacturers do & use.

    In regards to the small rear deck lid spoiler,when GM designed the Z06,that little spoiler was all that was required for the downforce the car produces. You should do some research before posting shit like this video

    Hey Tom, here are are some thoughts.
    Chrome wheels - why does GM still offer these.
    Lack of power? Show us 350 anywhere else that’s 25k today. Surprisingly my 06Z 58000kms later axle back and a corsa CAI and a tune put 466 at the wheels just last year.
    Seats… they suck it’s an embarrassment to any sports car. Honda Civic base models hold you in better.
    Steering wheel- from a cobalt parts bin
    Rear lip is a joke.
    That hood goes on forever and yes it’s costly if you’re not great in a parking lot.

  • @NCBWilcox
    @NCBWilcox ปีที่แล้ว

    Certainly, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
    Yes, the seats should have been better.
    Of course, we all prefer more power.
    I own a C6 ZO6 with the “terrible” plastic dash. At 13 years old, it looks new. No cracking.
    From my viewpoint, the most important metric is Performance per Dollar. Compared to vehicles of a similar vintage, the Corvette is superior in this regard.
    Unless a “solid” rear fascia makes the car faster, the flexibility is not that important.
    The bottom line is a Corvette is to be driven. It is not intended to be a museum piece.
    Just my $0.02.

    • @FindtheRightRoad
      @FindtheRightRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. I do agree they should be driven. I owned this car 4 years and put 29K miles on it before selling it last month.

    most issues resolved in 2008 with the NPP exhaust and a mild to wild fob. Your maintenance issues are absurd, a once a year oil change is NOT expensive, just do all your own maintenance. You have the Z06 spoiler on your car, the base spoiler in much worse.

    • @FindtheRightRoad
      @FindtheRightRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I will respectfully disagree. $175 for an oil change IS expensive compared to a Ford Fusion or Honda Accord. And keep in mind...some of us just want to DRIVE our cars, not do maintenance on them. I did that back when I was young and did not have a lot of money. Now I pay others to do that (just like mowing your lawn or plowing snow).

    • @fireplacedude23
      @fireplacedude23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FindtheRightRoad Ehh it's not cheap but it isn't expensive. To have oil done on my VW Passat is $122 around my area. Probably around $70 if I catch a sale at the local auto parts store otherwise north of $80. That's a stock daily driver Passat too. So, while it's not cheap it doesn't strike me as expensive.

    Really, Get a ls3 c6 and you will have pleanty of power especially with the dual mode exhaust. To complain about plastic on a 3200 lb corvette is ridiculous. What a weak video. it's a 50k vehicle with 436 hp. Spend a couple of grand to upgrade interior bits and you will still have yourself a steal. The only think that I hate is the steering wheel, the base suspension, and the headights on certain vehicle colors. It's all easily fixable.

    I liked the video you did when you got the car but this video is utterly pointless.
    1. You bought the car from a dealer sight unseen and paid $26,000. Of course you had to replace the tires Tom. Because you didn’t bother to ask for the date codes first. But you could have bought Continental Extreme Contacts for $500 less and gotten a longer wearing, just as highly rated set of tires (in all categories).
    2. You don’t like the cheap interior? Dude, this is your 4th corvette. By now you should have come to terms with the fact that this is one of the reasons these cars are so reasonable.
    3. You paid the dealer to change your oil? Go to Valvoline next time and save $70 for the same service and comparable synthetic oil.
    4. Your other complaints are so fricken petty. This video served no purpose.
