He could have been a plumber 😂❤🎉 Love this song and the musicianship - John is a true blue Aussie but loves all humanity. And it clearly shows in many of his songs - this one particularly. This is a musical production all on its own. He said in his Australian of the Year speech - Lets encompass all humanity, which is so good. Angus is phenomenal on the drums. Thanks Torben ❤😂🎉
All of John's musicians and back up singers are top class, which is what you'd expect to see supporting the greatest singer/showman on the planet.🥰 I hope you're feeling much better.❤
Fantastic reaction, Torben. John is the greatest, and I went to the Chain Reaction concert about six time. It was absolutely amazing. John has never, ever disappointed us. He's the best!! The GOAT!!!!
@@AussieDebb I sure do. When Sadie was launched, I was 14, and I instantly fell in love with John. I'm 71 now, and I don't think there would be a handful of days since I was 14 that I haven't listened to him sing, perform or talk, either live or on record, tape, cd, dvd or online. And I can't tell you how many times I've seen him live in concerts, stage productions and TV shows. I have multiple dozens and dozens of ticket stubs. John's music and golden voice have helped me through some dark periods of my life. Now, because of my love of John, my children (I have 5), grandchildren (I have 15) and great grandchildren (I have 3), all know and love him, too. I even have a couple of American friends that know and love John through me. So, yes, I'm a mega fan of John's.
@@Bobbygirl63 Oh that's fantastic Bobby - I was being a bit sarcastic - that's why I put the laughing faces and hearts after my last comment. Love how you love John and your family are carrying it on because of you. It's fantastic ♥️🥰♥️
Thanks for reacting to this especially now as it’s just on 12 months since Australians failed to vote for an Indigenous Voice to our Parliament. John supported the vote by allowing “your the voice” to be used by the yes campaign. Many of his “fans” were up in arms saying he was never political!! This song right here is about exactly the issue- dispossession of land and culture by a dominant invading country. The unique issue in Australian is that despite Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples living here for thousands of years the British declared there was no people here. John has always sang about political and world issues and I love him for that. A man of principle❤❤❤❤
Thank you for saying this! I have thought the same so many times over!! He has always been political. His songs are supposed to evoke emotion and promote positive change in the world ❤❤ He stands up for what is right, and I love him for that too and was equally proud of him for offering his song to the campaign ❤❤❤
It was absolutely mindless from the 'fans'. His biggest hit was an anti-nuclear call to action. I've always loved him for not being afraid to write and perform songs like this.
Thanks Torben. I'd be happy for all your reactions be John Farnham, but Australia has so many fantastic artists, so I'd be happy to watch them as well. Love your reactions...❤
@AussieDebb Hi Debb!!! I only just saw your reply. Have been so busy and stressed at work, but listening to John's book and his beautiful voice was my down-time. I'm well apart from the tiredness. I hope you are well in your part of our stormy sunshine state. Are there any more updates on the fan art and your wonderful series that I should know about. I feel I might be behind on some reactions or I'm just not getting them. Hoping to chat to you and the gang again soon. Stay safe and take care 🙂 ❤️
@Jojomac-ix7oi Hiya. They've recorded 20 to 22 and I've asked Paul to make them live one day apart because they are from the same year 2000. I'm sending them 23 to 25 over the next couple of weeks 😊 By the sound of it you haven't had your shifts cut. I hope you're not overdoing it. I haven't been putting many single videos up - did you see Jimmy & David and Sherbet? Hope to catch up real soon. Love ya ❤️💗❤️
This was actually written about the Romans invasion of Britain and attempts at invading the Scotts (hence "all roads lead to Rome") but it definitely resonates with the British invasion of Australia and the disposession of Aboriginal peoples. I love this song so so much. Thanks for the great reaction.❤ IMO (and I don't really care if you agree or not), I think the time has come to change the date for Australia Day celebrations.
No. This song was written by John, Joe Creighton and I can't think of the name of the other person. There is another song of the same name which you might be confused with
@Jojomac-ix7oi well you might want to talk to John about that. I watched or listened to a podcast where John himself spoke about writing the song and this is what he said. He even used the same words, "hense, all roads lead to Rome." Correct on who wrote it though.
@DeborahWilliams-n1s sorry, was a bit tired and didn't read your comment properly. Not disagreeing with you about the origin of the song because, in my mind I knew that. I was just saying that John, Ross and Joe wrote it. Sorry about that...I think I need a holiday.
