That’s so cool. Please let me know how the bunnies like it.
I've searched for 3 months via youtube to find the beginning sc around the hoop. Yours has been the one to not look so beyond my brain compression. As I'm stash busting catbed, I'm using 4 strand #4 type yarn. thank so much for well focused video tutorial.

Nice pattern! Nice and simple and well explained. Thank you!
Thanks
Thank you. A great video. I was wondering if you could advise the actual size please. I'm using my stash of half skeins etc so it would be a great help.
The overall size is 22”x22”. I used 2 balls of Bernat Blanket yarn. It is super bulky 6, 300g/10.5oz, 201m/220yds per ball.
I just finished making one for my Chihuahua and she loves it. I used 3 yarn balls due to i crochet tight not loose. I was wondering how to you wash the cave when its dirty?
I hand-washed mine and hung it in tub to drip dry.
Hi! Thank you for this tutorial, the cat cave looks super cute and I've started crocheting it for my cat. I'm using the different type of yarn and different size hoop. What would be the best way to go about increases in the second row? Would it be better to make the same amount of increases as you or to keep adding an increase every six loops? In the second case I would have twice more increases then you do.
Sorry for my English, it's not my native language :)
You can increase the same as I do in the video however, you might need to add a few more or less increase round’s depending on how thick or thin the yarn is. You can measure the width of the cat cave as guide to see if you have enough increase rows. The width should be a little wider than the hoop you using. I hope this helps you out.
Thank you, that helps a lot ❤️
How well does the wooden hoop hold up with washing? Do you think a metal hoop would work as well? I'm hoping to make for shy or scared shelter cats, and I'm sure the laundering won't be gentle. Thank you so much!
I don’t machine wash my cat cave. I hand wash them and lay them flat to dry. I would assume a wash machine would snap the wooden hoop. A metal hoop might fair better in a washing machine. Keep me posted if you use a metal hoop. Great idea!
at my home w/2 small dogs we sometimes have a race for what ever is the favorite item.... so I would have to go metal hoop as things get a bit wild at times!
Did you ever try it with the metal hoop?
No, I have not used a metal hoop.
This looks so cool but my question is: my cats, really one more than the other, really like yarn, I have a lot of trouble trying to crochet with them around, does your cat(s) bother this cat cave?
My cat loves his cave. Sometimes he sleeps on top and sometimes he sleeps inside it.
Thank you! How many meters of yarn do I need?
It takes 2 balls of Bernat Blanket Big Ball or 2 Bernat Blanket O’Go. Each ball is 10.5 oz/300g, 220 yds/201 m.
@@NinjaBunnyCrochet Thank you!
Is there any way to make this machine washable?
If you use a plastic hoop it might allow for machine washing on delicate cycle. However, I don’t think a washer with agitator would be able to used because the hoop could get caught on it. I would be concerned it would either break the hoop or the hoop would damage the washer.
Can you use a slightly smaller hoop if that's all you have?
Sure, the opening will be a little smaller. I have a big boy cat. He is 16 pounds. If your cat is smaller a smaller hoop should be ok.
Thank you. We are getting a kitty in a few weeks.
Cool. 😻

Do we need the hoop?
The hoop holds the cat cave open.
Instead of the wood I just cut out cardboard box of like a little circle, and I’m hoping this works😅
If the cardboard is sturdy enough it might work out just fine. I’ve not tried it before.
