Controversial, but favourite dance of the night for me. Now don't all roll your eyes at once 🤣 Full of flair, passion and swivels. His lifts and partnering skills are constantly improving, and he's developed so much over the course of this series, I love it 🥰

I actually really enjoyed this routine, you could tell he enjoyed this dance. Dan has improved immensely from week 1
I know that Dan gets a lot of guff but I loved that routine! Yes it was more Broadway than Charleston but I'll give that a pass for musicals week. He's improved so much and is absolutely living his best life and I am here for it!

Wowser - I loved this! Dan has been sort of under the radar for me, nice enough but not blown me away. But THIS performance was great. Lots of energy, swivel action spot on, some tricky syncopations, and perfectly matched to Nadiya. Singing in the Rain is one of my favourite musicals and now I think that this is one of my favourite routines. Go on Dan!
These two have great chemistry and their joy in dancing together is infectious.
Dan isn't my winner but he has been such a joy to watch and his improvement over the weeks is phenomenal. This may have been my favourite dance of the night
I think the reason Dan is still in the competition is because he was a complete beginner and now he's doing this! Genuine and legitimate, that's why people are voting for him. You can tell that Shirley is on his side and is rooting for him too. So many contestants enter Strictly having gone to stage school and with a heafty dance background. But Dan had none of those things and I can see him now going all the way to the final.
Dan is not the only one who has never danced before Rose never danced before dan took longer to learn and keeps on about it every week this years voting by the judges has been erratic to say they least especially in the dance off.
@@margueritahancock6504 I'll have to look into that and verify what you're saying.......tbf though, Rose is a follow and Dan is a lead. I've danced and the greater pressure is definitely on the lead. I think the amateur leads have a more difficult time than the amateur follows.

@@KimKim-pp5fn Yes and no. He's a BBC presenter therefore he's more recognisable to viewers (which means they're more likely to vote for him) because Strictly airs on the BBC. But the BBC aren't keeping him on the show, his presence on the show has caused massive backlash for the last 5+ weeks. What would they possibly gain from stopping him leaving?
Aj has never danced before and she is so much better. plus lets be honest no one would enjoy strictly if it didnt have genuinely good dancers on it
Definitely Dan’s best dance! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - he may not be the best dancer in the competition, but he’s the one I always find myself waiting and rooting for. His improvement up to this point has been so impressive, and I love the fact that he’s genuinely enjoying himself and the process. His partnership with Nadiya is so great too - I love watching them on their socials. They’re very well-matched in my opinion. I’m afraid they won’t escape the dance-off this week, but I’d be gutted to see them go.
An excellent homage to the original dance sequence in the film, including lots of classic bits. And there are only 2 dancers!
Ps Nadyia 's dress is also a good nod. Once again well done Vicky and co.
The level of improvement from Dan week on week is insane. He might actually be one of the most improved celebs ever. He needs to make sure he's finishing all his lines with his arms and his weight needs to be more forward but these are finishing touches. His level of performance is so much more than previous weeks. It makes me so happy. 9

Nice!! Dan can really execute the Charleston footwork well. It went much better than I expected. I think the sofa thing could have been cut, too risky for them, but I commend them for being theatrical. He really was dancing and flowing through the dance. Stop the hate on him and acknowledge how good he is. Sure, he's no AJ, Rose or John, but he's been flourishing, and more importantly... _Nadiya's been genuinely dancing!_ Even though it isn't at the same place (this is meant to be Blackpool Week), Musicals week was the furthest Nadiya has ever gotten. Since Davood, she hasn't gotten good partners and wasn't even in 2020. I'm grateful for Dan, because he's allowed Nadiya to shine again, and show her personality. Long time fans, could you have seen Nadiya before doing a dance was wacky as the Lobster Jive? This partnership has done wonders for her. I love them and I'm glad they got this far.

OOF, that black screen error. Dan has had some up and down weeks during Strictly, but today I thought he did superior! He could've put a bit more into his personality, but his swivels were spot on and it feels like he is really presenting more now! I'm so happy he got his highest score yet, but.. he's also at the bottom of the leaderboard sadly. I really can't believe 31 was the bottom tonight, everyone is great now!

@@pennyandfishy7241 A 7? At least an 8 beautuful swivel, off beat choreography well executed, no mistakes other than a slightly awkward lift at the end. Dan is the only contestant left to have had a "journey". Dont get me wrong I'm a Rose and AJ supporter but they have been good from the get go and we have seen Dan improve week after week so got to give credit where its due.

His best dance, no question! Nice energy throughout, lovely facial expressions. Swivels were pretty decent, with nice precision (some were cleaner than others). Once again, I agree with Cynthia, I feel like Dan needs to finish his lines especially towards the end. In addition, the last lift could have been cleaner going in but other than that. A solid week for Dan, finally!!

Definitely his best dance to date, filled with good swivel, great character and personality but it has to be his turn to go, everyone else is just better! Its good but everyone else is just better rn. His free arm needs alot of work, it needed more Charleston content and attitude but a good effort and definitely one of Nadiya's better dances. *8/10* being generous but still his turnnnnn!!!!!
Everyone else may be better dancers but they're not better improved and that's what counts with public votes. People resonate far more with someone who was a complete beginner and has improved weeknin week out than someone who came into the competition already a good dancer. So I don't think he's even going to be in the dance off.
7/10 moments of excellence however his time to go.

The lift at the sofa got a bit stuck. But for a man who has never danced before strictly, it’s amazing. Yes could have exaggerated more for Charleston.
I don’t believe any of the stars have dance backgrounds. So, shouldn’t be considered
I was quite nervous for Dan when they did be was doing a Charleston but I thought he did really well! It really bothers me how much slack he gets for not being eliminated yet but he truly deserves to still be in the competition. He's done so well and has genuinely improved every week, and isn't isn't the point of the show, people who haven't danced before learning new skills? I'd rather people like him in the final than trained performers who have had an unfair advantage from the off.

Those better dancers you mention where not complete beginners, so it wasn't an even playing field. I don't get how people just gloss over this fact and blindly compare him to the others. The public are keeping him in for this very reason, and long may it Continue because there is something uplifting and inspiring watching someone improve week in week out whereas watching an already good dancer just doesn't feel sincere.

This was Dan's best dance so far without any doubt! He is not on the same level as others, but I finally saw a vast improvement and a vast progression! At last he was not hiding his emitions, he succeeded in coping with being nervous, he was performing, he was finally enjoying, his partnership with Nadiya was lovely, he was into the music and into the story of the number. Dan and Nadiya probably woke up so tired because they were practicing the charleston all night long. Lovely synchronicity, good swivel action, excellent musicality, pretty clean lines... Dan did not miss a bit nor a step, he has demonstrated some neat footwork, and above all, as I have already mentioned - his feel for the music, the way he translated every beat of the song with his movements, was absolutely surprising and amazing. I would have loved to see more actual charleston content, the swivels could have been more precise and smoother, and Dan's arms could have been a tad less stiff, so the dance wasn't perfect by any means, but Dan has exceeded himself through his hard work. Finally, a proper dancer is starting to emerge, he is not thinking about the steps - he is living the steps, he is not thinking about the music - he is breathing the music, he came out with the cleanest and softest body movement he has ever had, he managed to put together some decent technique and fantastic artistry (letting go of all his fears and really performing). I really, really hope and pray that he won't lose this ability for his next dance. For now on, I want to see this growth. My score: a 7.

To me this was far a better performance from Dan than many of his others, as I feel that the judges have previously overmarked him. It's not the best performance of the night though...

Compared to Rhys' charleston last week, this felt like a week 5/6 dance. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt at the same standard as everyone else.
Shirleys scoring was so bad for this she scored both Dan and rose 9 when Rose’s dance is worlds apart form Dan’s. Was this his best dance yes absolutely but he is one of the weakest dancers and to be marked the same as one of if not the best dancers on the show, tell me how that makes sense
Rose danced mainly in hold throughout the dance. It was lovely, enjoyable and well executed. Dan was on his own throughout most of the dance, he kept time, he was in step, he looked as if he was having the time of his life and but for a little uncomely lift towards the end , to me, one of the best dances of the night

i was literally watching this dance and all i was saying was “awwww” 🤍 i’m so proud of how far dan’s got and this was by far his best dance yet! he did so well with the use of the props and you could definitely see the enthusiasm and happiness radiating off of him! i adore his talent
