  • In this video, Dr Mike explains the electrical conduction of the heart.
    He shows how a wave of depolarisation can move from the SA node to the atria to the AV node to the bundle of His to the Purkinje fibres.
    He also shows how these electrical waves can be interpreted on an ECG (EKG)

    I am just in awe of the way you can teach this. I was completely lost in class. When I graduate nursing school it will be primarily because of you. Please don't ever stop teaching, you're amazing.

      Same here. Nursing student. Currently my Situation. I can sit through class for 2 hours and still not process the information given. But I found his videos and THE LIGHT BULB COMES ON IN MY BRAIN!! Thank YOU!!!

    This is absolutely incredible teaching. Your enthusiasm and pace are superb. This is the first time as a first year medical student that someone has explained ECG with context and it has given so much more meaning to it seeing it in terms of where the positive charges are over time.       So far I really don't think so but they need to start watching TH-cam videos themselves. I'm tired of paying for classes to them learn everything from youtube.

    I have looked at this system many times, I love the way you explain this! As a nurse doing another Cardiac course this just finally made sense so I can explain to patients and hopefully understand EKG better.     First time I’ve actually heard someone describe the depolarisation and the T wave like that. I always wondered why we get a positive deflection for the T wave and this explained it perfectly.

    Boom!....I've watched half a dozen other videos to really understand why the "T" wave is (normally) positive in Lead II, when the intuition is that in "repol" it should be negative going..... you're the first that explained it so simply that it all made sense!...Thank you kindly Dr. Mike!!!

    I have watched several videos on this however none of them included the lead and how the direction of the charges are picked up by the lead. It added an extra layer to understand the whole process. Really great video, thank you!

    Thanks for upload going for a Cardiogram in a few days time and this has helped me understand its basically an electronic cct with flip flops & Capcitors with a data bus
    Have Now decided to become a heart surgeon & do my own Heart transplant!🤔♥️
