  • Enjoy the first-ever complete BART ride out of SFO, as this 9-car San Francisco/Pittsburg Bay Point train departs Platform 3 at the tenth-busiest airport in the United States for Daly City Station in Northern San Mateo County on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in the Bay Area.
Since the opening of San Francisco Int'l Airport Station in 2003, the San Francisco/Pittsburg Bay Point train -- now one of only two trains that serves the airport at any given time -- has made it easier for out-of-towners to tour San Francisco and the Bay Area for excellent entertainment, shopping, recreational and photo opportunities.
However, this clip shows only the SFO-to-Daly City stretch of the BART system because Daly City is the end of the line for all San Francisco and peninsula-bound trains originating in Fremont and Dublin/Pleasanton. Those from Richmond Station in West Contra Costa County also terminate in Daly City, but only on Saturdays. Passengers headed in the Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont directions (from San Mateo County) technically can transfer to those two trains at Daly City Station. Normally all Dublin/Pleasanton and Fremont trains arriving in Daly City pull into Platform 1, but on rare occasions, Platform 2.
Although the very next northbound stop (Balboa Park) is BART's official designated transfer point for this purpose, some commuters may want to get off a stop earlier in Daly City for priority seating, as trains usually fill up quickly upon arrival at the four Downtown San Francisco stations.
