I'm in the closing stages of restoring a real one of these. A saloon. Just came in from the shed and your video pops up! The car itself came out in '61, so I presume you're referring to when Matchbox launched their's. My original showroom brochure calls that shade of yellow Primrose. Great restoration. Thanks.

Another fine restoration, Marty. Really like the silver wheels on this model. Makes for something different and makes the model stand out more than something with normal black wheels. That's part of the charm the older Lesney Matchbox cars had.

I had one of these when I was a very young kid. It brings back sad memories b/c I remember playing with the model in a cabinet drawer in my Mom's sewing room. Somehow I lost it that day. At the time it was my favorite car, so I used to go back to that drawer and look for the car whenever I would remember it. Never did find it!

Damn good color match. I don't know about hobby paints, but all the interior paint I've used is a gamble as to whether it will dry lighter or darker. I would always tell the customers to wait 'till it dried, among other things. Not to digress, but a patch of test paint on a light wall will always look too dark Paint matching is an interesting challenge. Even the lighting can work against success. Good job, Marty. I have seen that you have a surprisingly good eye.

Vauxhalls are not common in the US, but as a teen a buddy had two of them. The 1965 looked like somebody washed a 55 Chevy and it shrunk, the 67 was same deal but looked like a shrunken 57 Chevy. Cool little cars. Funny how he liked little cars... he was a huge guy.

The ones I see at car events are always two tone. Mostly blue and cream or two tone green.
