Moved from NYC to Atlanta 12 years ago. Nothing wrong with Atlanta, but honestly speaking. no one actually moves from NYC to Atlanta and truly thinks it’s better. The ONLY reason people leave NY is because of the cost of living. If money was no object i’d definitely go back to NY and buy a nice brownstone. I at least moved near transit down here. You’ll be surprised how much more you’ll appreciate the subway once you don’t have it anymore, because TRUST ME the rail system down here sucks. I definitely get why people leave NY, i’m guilty of it too, but please do NOT move down here and live in one of these far reaching dead zones like Gwinnett county or Canton or Snellville. You’ll NEED a car or you’ll be royally FCKD.

As someone who grew up in the NY/NJ area, I agree with you 100%! There is no place like NYC IMO. I moved to WA state over 23 years ago and Seattle has been a huge disappointment to say the least! My husband and I will probably retire to either NC or Tennessee because it will be more affordable on a fixed income but if money were no object, I would go back to the NY area in a heartbeat!!!

Moved from Queens to Atlanta in 2006 @ 30 yrs old and haven’t looked back since ❤ One thing I didn’t consider though is allergies 🤧 If you suffer with minor allergies in NYC be prepared for full blown chronic symptoms after moving to GA… it’s essentially a giant forest 😬🌲🌲🌲🌲🌲

As someone who’s born and raised in Georgia and been here all my life, Atlanta has become flooded with northerners and they have literally changed the culture and vibe of the city. Anyone moving down here from NY should feel right at home because y’all have colonized Atlanta to be NY

Why are so many people loving to Atlanta? There’s a ton of NY and NJ people moving here. Why? The city is getting ridiculously congested.

Georgia is a much poorer state than that of New York or California. Georgia’s lower cost of living goes hand in hand with the lower earning potential of its workers.

If people could afford it nobody would leave NYC!! Its the most culturally diverse city, some of the best restaurants, museums and institutions in the world. Beautiful parks and historic buildings and neighborhoods, fast pace, exciting, open 24hrs and is beautifully gritty!!

You are required to have a permit to legally own a gun in Georgia. You aren't required to register your gun. You also must have a legal gun to conceal carry. Of course, criminals with illegal guns don't care about the guns. That's not unlike NY.

All apartments there are 2200-6000 ! There is no where in ATL for 600-750 rent that is a lie. Even if he wanted a 1 bedroom in Buckhead 1600-2400. @@mousedream1550
