My little one and I lived and traveled in one of these years ago. I took the mattress off of one side and put it on top of the other and then put a rug on the other side and that’s where I stored everything and he played up there like his own little room. We loved it. It was a precious little home away from home for us for 2 years. You got a great deal. Congratulations! Enjoy ❤

I bought a used 2006 popup camper last year and got a flat tire after 300 miles on my first trip. Luckily I had a spare, and bought a new spare a couple hours later at a nearby Tractor Supply Co. They had a whole rack of trailer wheels with tires already on them.

Hi there, Love your videos. I have a 1984 type that is almost identical to yours and I picked it up on the side of the road for $300. An old hunter had used it and it was full of mud, etc... A lot of cleaning later, I still have minor repairs to do. I, quite frankly, never thought of removing the sink! I just might now. What a great idea. I've had the camper for about seven years now and am finally ready to tackle all the proper maintenance - I did have the tarp professionally repaired last year, plus a few other little things, but, quite frankly the expense and quality of work left me astounded. I can do better myself.

Great to see a wee update from you and how the camper has faired after a few trips. Honestly though how bad did it smell after being stored outside all winter? Great work on the propane stove as well. Worth keeping an eye on your vents then. With all that said, how awesome is this little $350 camper. Way to go, are you on your way to more horse shows/trials?

I have always loved pop-up campers. I happen to see a video of a gentleman from Michigan who took his pop-up camper, removed the bed slabs with the netting and converted it over to a solid wood camper that doesn't retract or pop-up anymore period now because of the algorithm it put your video up there and I decided to check it out. And I enjoy your content! You don't ramble on about the things that you are going to do or have done, but I do have to point out to you that a set of tires from 94 makes them 30 years old! And even though one of the tires is cracking or dry riding on that seam, where the tread is at the other ones are close behind it. Even though they don't have cracks in them! The fact of the matter is that when you go to take that camper on its first trip and drive it down the road or on a highway or interstate wherever you may go I can almost guarantee you that either on the way to your campsite. Or on the way back home. One of those tires is going to give out! I have seen too many horror stories about pull behind pop-up campers that had bad tires on them, and they flipped over, and the people who owned them lost them because they were completely destroyed exclamation. Point I believe Harbor freight carries that size of tire or you can take them to a tire shop and get them replaced. But your chances of getting the actual tire for the original rims. Means that you might not even be able to get them and have to buy brand new tires. Either a size up or a size down which is extremely expensive. Or you can do the next best thing and go to Harbor freight and spend a fraction of the price, and just get 3 new rims with the tires already on them! Keep app the good work and I look forward to your future endeavors. You have a new follower!
Always be careful of those things that you would think that are great Adam's such as the hooks that you want to put by the door because I've seen too many horror stories on those as well. People trying to get in or go out really fast and they end up poking a hole in their leg! Those are usually meant to be a pier and not in a major traffic area, such as an area where you walk by. Believe me, those can be very dangerous! LOL.

I’m very impressed with what you’re doing and how much you have done so far. I’ve never camped in a pop-up camper. I went to the beach with an aunt and her kids one year and gone tent camping many, many times. I was a Girl Scout leader for about 23 years and took them camping at least once a year. It’s fun and none of those tents came with sinks or toilets.

Also the roof take the center rubber seal off of the center of the outside of ur roof and get 3 gallons of flex seal rubber liquid sealant and paint rollers and painting poles and very good painter's tape and painter's plastic sheathing and up the plastic under the roof line so that it doesn't get on the sides of ur trlr and sand rinse the roof 2 time and when using the flex seal rubber coating pour a lot on and by the place where the seal was let dry and then coat the whole roof even the sides of the roof with the painter's rollers however buy plenty to change out the rollers as needed and let dry then put more on it and repeat til u use ur whole 3 gallons this will help with the roof plus no more leaking if yall prepare the surface be4 flex seal rubber sealant however this is just idea maybe it will help keep it from leaking and keep walking tall always and catch yall on the flippy flops and smile

I had to get new VIN numbers for my camper because I bought from state that doesn't require a title. 3 different DMV's before I found someone that knew how to do it. She basically registered it as a homebuilt and issued a new VIN number and new title. Indiana changed the rules and I had to get title on an inflatable boat I had owned for years. Before, anything under a certain weight or value didn't require a title. It was a nightmare.

Tire manufacturers recommend new trailer tires every 4-5 years. In the tire there are compounds called anti-ozonants that get distributed through the rubber by driving on them. Since trailer tires sit unused mostly they go bad. There will be an oval with a 4 digit code in it on the tire. This is the week and year manufactured. I know this because I had a trailer tire explode on my travel trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike. Better safe than sorry.

    • @timgillman

I'd say anything in the 90's decade and older are really easy to do some patch work and go to town (or country) with, after sitting for long periods of time. 2000's and newer (depending on too many factors to count) You have too many plastics and computers and faux materials that degrade and stop working even after one year of use or nonuse. Of course this is just my opinion, I'm in my 30s and have been too poor my entire life to afford all of the things I would like to have any proper experience first hand. It's only what I have observed 3rd hand so to speak.
