When he says "the humanity itself", I wonder does he mean humanity as in mankind or humanity as in humaneness. It matters not, because even though both are fleeting in the grimdark universe of Warhammer 40,000 they are both worth fighting for.
Both. Salamanders understand that they defend humans from the terrors of the universe and that they safeguard all that is good about us. Their entire philosophy is to try and emphasize that goodness and are the only chapter that understands that they must do both.

*This* is how I want my Firstborn/Primaris interactions. A grizzled, worn-down veteran, weighed down with glory, honor, and the memories of those he could not save. A young warrior, eager to prove his worth in battle, dealing with failure for the first time and taking the first steps toward understanding how his elders became as they are now. Sure, the Primaris are physically superior to Firstborn in many ways. But there’s no *story* in that. A Primaris on his own is just another super-soldier. A Primaris with a chapter is on his way to becoming a true Astartes. And the Astartes are legend.
“Despite the insanity of the black rage, despite the butcher’s nails implanted millennia ago, despite the hatred, anger, pain and suffering, the true worst curse of an astartes is the salamander’s kindness. For however many they cherish and save, thousands more will perish. And they will feel every one. So why is it in doubt if the salamanders are a brutal chapter? Only in the depths of suffering can true rage be brewed, and a broken heart is an endless well of suffering” - Philosophical guy somewhere, probably
I admit out of all the different chapters under the Imperium of Man, I would rather be a Salamander because I would rather be able to express some emotions like they do rather than not be able to. Besides… That Chaos Heretic will face the wrath OF THE EMPEROR’S WILL FOR WHAT HE DID TO THAT CHILD!!!! WHO’S WITH ME BROTHERS?!?!?
@codwarhero9883 i might ( irl) end up as a pdf guardsmen but i explained what equipment i needed to kill a heretic: now my regiment is half hellguns and half heavy plasma guns
One of the hardest lessons a hero must learn... You can't save everyone. You won't always be fast enough to make it in time. Strong enough to hold them all back. Endure long enough to hold out. There will always be those fate takes away before we can intervene... But as long as you learn from that which has happened, both your failings and what you couldn't change despite your efforts, then it hasn't been a complete loss. As long as you do your best, and learn from the past, you can hold your head up with pride...
I love how when he walks through the fire, as the Space Marine doll burns, and as the bloody tears on his shoulder pad burns away, the fire looks first like tears in the wind, then like the flames of an angered dragon.
The fire inside burned brightly for years as the Space Marine fought, and yet, for a moment the light dimmed, the lords of chaos rejoiced, thinking they had broken this one… until they felt the heat of an intense inferno, burning brighter than the sun, they had not destroyed his light, they had not put out his fire, they had just simply provided fuel for it to burn brighter than a star
- Damn, this made me almost cry twice. Even still, I love this comic, and I can't wait to see what happens next. - What background music did yo use for the sad scenes? I find it fitting, and now I'm curious. - I bet that Plague Marine will be hearing a lot of "Vulkan lives!" and stomping noises from now on.
I am so glad this showed in my feed, Salamanders are my all time favorite and everything about this shows why, the emotion he felt that made me feel, Salamanders thinking like this, like me, It is ....heart wrenching And I too feel an unquenchable nova of hatred for that plague marine and would hunt him into the Eye of Terror
The salamanders are truly the best chapter in character they treat thier emotions as strenth the pain they feel only fuels the fury to destroy those who harm the innocent. i wish we had more games based on them.
I'd love to see a Black Templar added into the mix at some point. A young black templar, who's heard that the Salamanders are soft. Just their entire dynamic with the Salamanders valuing human life and the Templars valuing glory. The two chapters could learn so much from one another.
If I might offer an addition? Let’s make this a whole Death Watch sorta thing. I offer, a freshly crossed the rubicon Firstborn Space wolf, one of the grey hunters. An old grizzled warrior bearing countless scars, the last of his pack. Ready for one more good hunt for his saga.
Let it be known that Vulcan and his children are indeed the most kind hearted chapter of the space marines. But even a kind person has a deep anger, that is the most violent and dangerous flame to burn their foe to ash.
Just the image of the Salamander standing in the funeral pyre and being engulfed by the ashes of those he couldn't save is just heartbreaking. Those guardsmen too, even though they are masked you can tell some hard emotions were going through their minds when they looked upon the sight of him doing so. I honestly love wholesome/feelsy 40K stories like this. I know 40K is all about the "grimdark only war raaaaaaaaaaaaaaah for the EMPREAH!!!" but I feel stories like these work perfectly in showing why humanity continues to fight, the very reason all those guardsmen die every day, why the astartes engage the worst horrors, and why theres an exterminatus every month. The spirit of humanity perseveres in the grim darkness of the distant future, which leads us to both keep fighting for a noble heroic cause as well as commit the most atrocious of acts. When you fight for the Emperor, you fight for all of us. The Emperor Protects.
A Dragons roar. I don't remember much of the battle. Screaming civilians burning buildings and the smell that throne awful smell. I do remember the Dragon a giant of green that came to stand beside us took of his helmet a face as black as midnight looked down at me with eyes like rubies and raised his flamer. "in us all of humanity stands. Will you walk with me?"
Thorgrim Grudgebearer: So, I know I'm not from this universe but we have this tradition where we write down unforgivable things we will not rest until they're avenged and I think you may want to write down yours.
... I have seen a great many atrocities. Worlds torn asunder, families ripped apart, and the truth is, it never gets easier to watch. And that is good. So long as you feel sadness, you yet have strength and humanity inside you. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we are victorious. Our will to go on is all that we have at the end of it all.
"I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend"
“The mind is a sharp blade. Do not, point it inwards.”
That’s actually sound advice on so many levels.
And some wounds it caused may never heal

I urge you to pray to your Dark God that the resilience he bestowed upon you is strong, for I swear, upon the Emperor's name, I will track you down, and I will find a way to make you feel pain."
Emperor protect both marines, because I know Nurgle won't be able to stop what that salamander is going to do to him.
Damn! Love it
Khorne: To whoever pissed off that Salamander, you're fucked. Just straight up, I can't save you now so you may as well get a decent life insurance policy.
Absolutely amazing, dude. Literal chills.
Only made possible by your stellar voicing
May his blade never dull, may he stay warm upon the anvil, growing stronger with every blow…may the sons of Mortarion tremble at the wrath of the dragon of Nocturne, raining bring promethium suns upon the evil that plagued traitor brought to that world.
*They shall be the finest warriors, these men who give themselves to him. Like clay he shall mould them and in the furnace of war forge them. They will be of iron will and steely muscle. In great armour shall he clad them and with the mightiest guns will they be armed. They will be untouched by plague or disease, no* _sickness_ *will blight them. They will have tactics, strategies and machines such that no foe can best them in battle. They are his bulwark against the Terror. They are the Defenders of Humanity. They are his Space Marines and they shall know no fear.*
Tremble son of Mortarion. For within this son of Vulcan, a fire so bright burns infinitely, deeply, and it will not tire nor weaken. It will burn, until it consumes you. And rends you from reality.
_It is our hope you burn slowly. Son of the plagued primark._
Very well made! :D
Amazing work
Screenshot!
Amazing job
Coming back to this comment, still peak
Find the one that did the deed and End him , let justice be served then remember them brother, not their final moments, but the last you shared and those before, the burden of losing loved ones is a burden no one should have to take, but that is Life, that is War.
Its always the salamanders that have the most tragic comics
Meanwhile we can’t have lamenter comics because it’s cause us ultra depression.
That plague marine is as good as dead
Ah shit, Khorne got a Salamander. We're fucked.
Nope: khorne and the death guard are both running away so that should be telling.
The scorching flames from a heavy flamer is nothing compared to the rage that burns within those eyes.
"The furnace that is Vulkan's rage has always been a difficult one to ignite.
But when one DOES manage to stoke its flames... it has been known to reduce entire worlds to ash."
........this gave me the feels (not sure how to describe) so much.....i hope our salamander gets his JUSTICS!!! FOR VALKEN!!!
*Hands the Salamander a Super Shotgun and preps his helmet to blast Doom music.*
The only chapter that deserve a thousand NO ten thousand home worlds
“Despite the insanity of the black rage, despite the butcher’s nails implanted millennia ago, despite the hatred, anger, pain and suffering, the true worst curse of an astartes is the salamander’s kindness. For however many they cherish and save, thousands more will perish. And they will feel every one. So why is it in doubt if the salamanders are a brutal chapter? Only in the depths of suffering can true rage be brewed, and a broken heart is an endless well of suffering”
- Philosophical guy somewhere, probably
Peak comment
He boutta treat that plague marine like Vulkan treats eldar children
And this is why the Salamanders are my favorite chapter.
Top notch voice acting as always
I admit out of all the different chapters under the Imperium of Man, I would rather be a Salamander because I would rather be able to express some emotions like they do rather than not be able to. Besides…
That Chaos Heretic will face the wrath OF THE EMPEROR’S WILL FOR WHAT HE DID TO THAT CHILD!!!! WHO’S WITH ME BROTHERS?!?!?
^ hopefully me and a few other chapters
@@gmailquinn Glad to have you. The Imperium of Man will rise against this heretic
@codwarhero9883 i might ( irl) end up as a pdf guardsmen but i explained what equipment i needed to kill a heretic: now my regiment is half hellguns and half heavy plasma guns
Im not a Salamander. But as a grey knight i feel your pain brotha. BURN THEM IN FLAME !!!! I will delete its spirit after. He will not reach the warp.
Never did i expect warhammer to make me cry...
But here we are...
Man that's a really really mad Salamander and it looks like hes about ready to go hunting with a heavy flamer.
*it was at this moment, the Plauge Marine, had a strange feeling he had fucked up*
We can all agree that chaos marine is getting a$$ whopping of a historic proportions
The plauge marine is gonna get barrel stuffed with a multimelta, and it will be glorious
That would be too merciful
2:23 the music is so perfect
The most terrifying thing to come across is a kind killing being that is on a mission who have felt loss
Beware a kindred's rage: beware a kind man's rage for the fuze is long and the damage unimaginable
wherever he currently is, Vulkan's very proud of you lad.
Salamander marine after watching the footage: " LET THE GALAXY BURN!"
I love how you actually made the Astartes vox filter sound good.
Deathguard: “Why do I hear boss music?”
“We had to remove Master Chief’s helmet so he could show emotion”
Meanwhile:
Ultradepression.
No sadness, only:
Extreme RAGE
He is beyonf furious. His usual calm has been compromised
That would be if he would team up with a lamentor
@@macshadow1150 he is going to to hunt that traitor down with *IMMENSE ABHORRENCE*
Beautiful, perfection, marvelous. Father Vulkan would be proud.
Without loss, there will being nothing that can be found...
We must lose something to find another...
I hope the salamanders goes full doomguy.
I am so glad this showed in my feed, Salamanders are my all time favorite and everything about this shows why, the emotion he felt that made me feel, Salamanders thinking like this, like me,
It is ....heart wrenching
And I too feel an unquenchable nova of hatred for that plague marine and would hunt him into the Eye of Terror
Yep even years later it still hits just as hard
I don’t even think doom guy could be that pissed
The salamanders are truly the best chapter in character they treat thier emotions as strenth the pain they feel only fuels the fury to destroy those who harm the innocent. i wish we had more games based on them.
And all of the stars above fell silent as the rage within the gentle soul grew, for nothing shall stop his wrath from shining through.
I’m not crying your crying! Also this philosophy of theirs is why them and the White Scars are my favorites
I started fucking crying and then my sadness turned to rage
I'd love to see a Black Templar added into the mix at some point. A young black templar, who's heard that the Salamanders are soft.
Just their entire dynamic with the Salamanders valuing human life and the Templars valuing glory. The two chapters could learn so much from one another.
If that ever happened: salamander, headbutts black templar into unconscious
If I might offer an addition? Let’s make this a whole Death Watch sorta thing. I offer, a freshly crossed the rubicon Firstborn Space wolf, one of the grey hunters. An old grizzled warrior bearing countless scars, the last of his pack. Ready for one more good hunt for his saga.
1yr later i'm still waiting for part4
i want to see more of this series
This is beautiful.... the flame like a light in the grim darkness.
Let it be known that Vulcan and his children are indeed the most kind hearted chapter of the space marines. But even a kind person has a deep anger, that is the most violent and dangerous flame to burn their foe to ash.
Kindest people have the longest fuze and to light it is irreparable
Even Khorne shivers when a Salamander goes on the warpath.
^
Khorne: NURGLE!!!! YOU DON FUKED UP!!!!!
Nurgle: what now?
Khorne: YOU PISSED OFF A SALAMANDER!!!!!!
Nurlge seeing his domain burn: SHET
*"They died quickly. You will not."*
That Deathguard will feel the unbridled fiery wrath of Vulkan.
"Our emotions may be weakness, but that make us stronger because we know what we fighting for"
- Salamander Probably
Thorgrim Grudgebearer: So, I know I'm not from this universe but we have this tradition where we write down unforgivable things we will not rest until they're avenged and I think you may want to write down yours.
...
I have seen a great many atrocities. Worlds torn asunder, families ripped apart, and the truth is, it never gets easier to watch. And that is good. So long as you feel sadness, you yet have strength and humanity inside you. Sometimes we lose, sometimes we are victorious. Our will to go on is all that we have at the end of it all.
