Over 30 years & I can still remember the different smells walking through here. Not bad, just the equipment & the food stalls. This place will be a memory until the day I can't see over the dirt anymore.
Was going to write the same thing!! SO MANY memories of that place, that and the skating rink in town....I was born and raised in PC and just moved back recently, man have things changed...sigh...I wish things could go back to the way they were in the 80s...
@@walterm8797 I'm from PSJ. Bear in mind, though, the fact we all thought we would die in a massive nuclear exchange. Back then it was a matter of when, not if. I'll concede that MOST change has been for the worse, but not ALL.
When u grew up in the 80s as a teen.., this was the place! everything about it is nostalgia for those who come to see this. There's very few memories had here that were anything less that amazing... I miss this park, this Florida and this time... Simple.
We spent all day at Ship Wreck Island water park and it was incredible. Once darkness started to fall the fun didn't end because we went to Miracle Strip which was right across the street. This was 1986 or maybe 1987. That might have been the best day of my childhood.
I LOVED Goofy Golf! My best friends dad did the airbrushing there and they had a little room they would stay in on the weekends during the summer so they didn't have to fight beach traffic. I had the best memories of staying out there and playing TONS of goofy golf!
Also, a few years earlier, at Petticoat Junction. "Highway 98 will take you to the happy place that makes you smile: You're at Petticoat Junction! Amusement Park!"
Thank you for this video. My childhood was spent taking summer vacations to PCB. We would spend the day on the hot beaches then shower, go out for dinner then hit miracle strip at night. Such precious memories. I went during the summer of ‘03 for their final summer open. Gosh I miss those days.
I miss this so bad. I grew up in PC and spent, literally, my life on these rides. Rode the Starline on my dads lap when I was 3 years old in '88, which you totally could not do now a days. Just like the Musik Express when it went backwards! Thank you so much for uploading!
Brings back many memories for me. Going there since late 70s through the 80s. Was my childhood stomping ground. And love that you got keep feeling fascination in here! One of my faves from back in the day.
Backstory: I worked there the summer of 90 when I was 15. Worked on most of the rides… Music Express, Sea Dragon, & Wave Swinger (Swings) are what I was assigned to most. We all fought to work Abominable snowman, Dante’s, & The Dungeon because they were air conditioned. LOL… the music you heard on each ride was what we brought from home. Thats how I learned of The Cure, EnVogue, Enigma, & Guy. Everyone started on the Log Ride for a week to train… then moved to The Bullet (the ride at the very beginning)… We would flirt with the food people to get free food. It was such a fun moment in time!!
"Ladies and Gentlemen boys and girls of all ages, please keep your hands and feet in the car, Dantes Inferno is now going to go backwards!!" Shout at the Devil.... loved working Dante
Awesome video! There's nothing better than riding The Music Express while listening to Boston. Please upload any other footage you may have of Panama City Beach, I love it.
Great video. However, I wish you had gotten some footage of the train going way back in the dark woods and inside Abominable Snowman and Dante's Inferno. Great vid, brings back so much memories.
I was riding my bicycle up Front beach road a few weeks ago.Thought I would ride to where the Miracle Strip once was. As road past 'Alvins magic mountain" remember,It looked look a volcano. Anyway...my heart felt kinda sad seeing any empty lot with weeds. If I were a TIME Traveler,I set the controls for the wrong time period.2016 ain't it. Now if I could just get back to 1981.
Spent many years going to see family in Panama City Beach stayed at the camp ground right next to miracle strip would the starliner roller coster. Walk the strip play skeet ball walk the pier MISS this Place
Good video, thanks for sharing! I wish there existed a video from my youth when I spent a good deal of time out there. Unfortunately, that would've had to have been captured on 8mm movie film.
0:41 there's a chance that's me and my dad front seat on the roller coaster, we were there around this time in 1988 and I road the front seat just sayin:)
May I use some of this footage in a video a review for of Starliner that I'm working on? I'll put your channel's name on screen, and give you full credits in the description. Great to see this footage!
They were going to build condos but it never happened so the lot is just vacant and overgrown. As far as the new miracle strip amusement Park goes, it has already gone out of business and bankrupted.
LOL at "2 Live Is What We Are" by 2 Live Crew starting at 1:53. Human League at 3:35. Too bad this video has 1/2 second snippets of the park areas, with the only long parts being of the typical carnival rides. :(
Times will NEVER be this good again!!! Ever!!!!🥲🥲🥲
Over 30 years & I can still remember the different smells walking through here. Not bad, just the equipment & the food stalls. This place will be a memory until the day I can't see over the dirt anymore.
Brings tears to my eyes, I loved this place as a kid and teenager

Also loved Goofy Golf and Dracula's Castle, that fantastic horror wax museum out in front of Miracle Strip. Funnest times of my life, 1977-1989

Goofy Golf is still there. Took my son there last month and played both courses. Too bad Miracle strip is gone though.

Wish they still had as many traditional amusement parks.

Sure thanks.
I wish there were video of the inside of the haunted house.
Abominable Snowman was the best. I never rode the one with the devil head.
The "Starliner's" trains weren't remodeled yet in this video.
Did they tear it down to build condos? Isn't there a new one?
They were going to build condos but it never happened so the lot is just vacant and overgrown. As far as the new miracle strip amusement Park goes, it has already gone out of business and bankrupted.
