    Such an iconic sound. That was in my go-to rig for the late 80's early 90's. MP1 + Alesis Quadraverb as the backbone of the rig and I was set. Lots of other effects came and went, but those two were the workhorses.

  • @BobBriessinck
    @BobBriessinck 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Such a bummer they didn't model the stereo chorus! The chorus is mono and the delay is stereo, but the stereo chorus is the whole magic of the thing... I wrote them about this but they basically replied like 'whatever'. At least they replied.

  • @zoomzoom3950
    @zoomzoom3950 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Interesting.
    My main rig back in the day was all ADA, with an Alesis QuadraVerb. My ADA rig included the MP-1, MQ-1, B200S and 4 x 2x12 vertical split stacks. I eventually replaced the MP-1 and MQ-1 with an MP-2, which adds a graphic EQ to each patch. I also had a spare MP-1 and MP-2.
    I still have my MP-2, the rest is long gone.
    I'm going to look into this plugin! Cheers!

    Great demo. I love all the tones, and this is spot on as far as capturing the magic of the classic MP1 which I've loved since the late 80s. These were very popular with some high end shredders I knew in that scene in L.A. I remember when I plugged my old Charvel with a JB into a friend's MP-1 and how amazing it sounded. I wanted to take it home! I was using Boogies, Marshalls, Laneys and Randalls in those days with the occasional Crate or Gallien Krueger I borrowed from my drummer. But the MP 1 was amazing.

    I've always loved the sounds the ADA MP-1, but found the interface to a bit too confusing. That, and you had to purchase the midi foot controller separately. That was why I went with the Digitech GSP-21 Pro. It not only came with the controller, but it had an LCD screen that made programming much simpler and you could even name the patches that would be displayed on the the controller.
    The plug-in, however, seems much easier to use.

    I've been using a MP-1 since 1989. I toured with the thing and I absolutely love it. But now that I'm older, I can't carry around a refrigerator sized rack full of processing gear for it. So I was thinking of a laptop, with this thing loaded as a stand alone unit. Out of that into my Harley Benton Thunder 99 Power Amp Pedal, into (2) 1x12 Celestion cabs. The only thing I don't see any info on is controlling it. If the presets can be changed via a midi fool controller, I'm in business. Do you happen to know if that is an option on the plugin? If it isn't, then they certainly need to add that function. I mean that's what a real MP-1 is all about. Having all those luscious sounds at your tippy toes.

I've been (and a lot of others too) after the folks at Amplitube to put out an MP-1 model. This gets my attention, as I just sold mine last year. The price is a no brainer, for sure. But I'll have to see if they have a demo of this. As an MP-1 user since around '95...and VERY familiar with how it sounds, but with my guitars (especially my RG550) running through it. I'm really tempted to just jump on it, but I really need to have "that" sound and feel to make me happy. Very cool that Nembrini made this. Sounds pretty great. Love your RG. I had one of those for years in blue and loved mine. I also had the Nuno N4 guitar and it has one of my favorite necks. I would love to hear you do a demo of Thomas McRocklin's new Polychrome DSP plugin and hear your thoughts on it too!

    After watching your demo for the 5th time and being amazed, I purchased it and don't regret it for a second!!! Outstanding playing by you and an outstanding product from Nembrini! For the life of me though, I can't get the Pan controls to move. I've watched other demos and they are all at 12:00 noon as well. Any ideas?

    PLugin sounds pretty spot on. But man, if you've got a couple of MP1's. I would recommend the MKII? mod on one of them if the guy that did it back then still does it..or obtaining one. I know it's sacrilege, and it ruins the clean channel. But imo it sounds way tighter and cutting in the distortion channels. Less hairy. Still one of the best sounds i ever had of any amp ever for tight metal. I ran it through a microtube 200 playing my Akira Takasaki sigs through my old custom pieced together cab, that thing was so punchy and loud unmiced it still cut through my other guitar players 5150 full stack miced through the pa. A lot of it was the Akira though, though those things are hard ash and maple, they cut through anything. And if you ever stood in front of Akira in a club face height with his Marshalls, and wonder why you forever have permanent tinnitus, that may be why hah. In fact he should be long deaf by now lol. Might be an actual legitimate reason why they named themselves Loudness.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did a 3TM to one of them and got the other to do another mod but haven't got to it. Akira had one of my fave tones ever!

    I just downloaded a demo of this - Is there a way to get the actual ADA-MP1 presets loaded on it? Unless I'm using this wrong, it looks like the demo is only programmable, no presets (I love the preset tones).

    I find it much easier to dial in amp sims using an already recorded gtr DI, rather than trying to play live and tweak the settings with your mouse, whilst not dropping your pick.

    I had one when I was like 19. And due to the age restrictions in impulse and intelligence, I traded it for a Krank Revolution +1 -head which I later traded for a 6505+ which I later sold for drugs and alcohol I guess. Most likely reason.

    Have to say that this is the best software anything for guitar I've ever heard! Most software for guitar often just sounds fatiguing and has a lot of digital qualities I don't like for guitar, but this really sounds like it's worth. I would be interested in hearing the other cab sims built in because I'm not a huge fan of v30s. You've also captured some early Testament tones too! They were using them in the late 80s and early 90s.
