In his memoir, SIZE MATTERS NOT, Warwick Davis mentions this movie was in many ways a Godsend, as he and his wife Samantha's first son, Lloyd, had died within a few days of birth from a genetic defect. The script for LEPRECHAUN not only helped with the bills, but gave both him and Samantha an "escape" from grief as it took them to the US to film the movie in California and gave them time to mourn (as well as Davis trying out being a "villain" for the first time). Warwick Davis actually had lunch with his former WILLOW director Ron Howard not long after finishing the film and mentioned LEPRECHAUN. Howard was not happy about the film idea and said, "Uh........just don't do anymore." However, the next time they met up for a visit, Davis reluctantly admitted he had done three more sequels. Ron Howard just sighed and said, "Well........my daughter and her boyfriend love those movies and my brother literally acted in the second one...........so who am I to judge?"

Ozzie has one of the more impressive "minor character" resumes in 80s-early 90s Hollywood. You guys just saw him as Stilwell Angel (grown up at the end) from A League of Their Own, he is the arch-nemesis of Pee-Wee in the Big Adventure, he's on the basketball team with Michael J Fox in Teen Wolf, and he's in The Naked Gun, yelling from the baseball stands "Hey, Its Enrico Pallazo!"...not a bad list.
I'd recommend reacting to the 1988 American science fiction horror comedy Killer Klowns from Outer Space. It's about an invasion of aliens who look, act, and have technology based on clowns. The Klowns come to Earth in order to capture, kill, and harvest the humans in a small town. It's a fun movie if you've never seen it, and it has a lot of cool creature effects done by the Chiodo Brothers. The Chiodo Brothers also wrote and directed the movie. It's a fun, wild ride, like this one. Just an absolute blast.

The greatest Irish-themed film is THE QUIET MAN, starring John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara. It’s my favorite John Wayne film. A wonderful story about an Irish-American man who moves to Ireland, falls in love with a fiery redhead and has to deal with her brother - the town bully.

The writer/director for the Leprechaun originally intended for this to be like a horror film for kids until he was told it had more potential as an adult horror film.
You might think the idea that the Leprechaun can be distracted by things like four leaf clovers and dirty shoes, but old Irish stories about the Fair Folk is that they have strange rules that they are compelled by their own worlds rules to follow. Being literal extra-dimensional beings that are foreign to our reality, they HAVE to do things that to us don't make any sense, like compulsively cleaning shoes or counting the individual grains of spilled salt.
There are six Leprechaun movies with Warwick Davis playing the titular character.
