Oh and Samantha's suspicion of "Fake Sidney" is not at all unfounded. Apparently the original script had her and Roman as the killers (and in a relationship), but rumor has it that the studio forced them to make it just one killer this time for variety and so they did some re-shoots, but they still left some scenes that were shot back when she was supposed to be one of the killers and that's what gives you that feeling.

Great reaction as always ! From what I've read online, originally Scream 3 was supposed to have 2 killers, with Angelina being the girlfriend/accomplice to Roman. Looking forward to the reactions to the next few installments !
In 2017 this got looked at in a very different light. Lance Henriksen character John Milton as a possible representation of Harvey Weinstein. With John Milton scene talking discusses taking advantage of aspiring actresses and the mirror bedroom.
Great timing. Just went back and watched your reactions to 1 and 2 the other day. Also yeah this is definitely the runt of the litter in the franchise, but still an entertaining movie.
the funny thing about this movie was in real life scripts have gotten leaked online so they had to keep changing the scenes and who got killed and who was the real killer... to this day they still shred scripts and notes and keep top secret scenes private until the day of filming LOL
I saw this in theaters and remember really loving the ending of this movie. Back then we all thought it would be the last one, so the ending made a lot of sense.
As someone who ADORES the SCREAM franchise and has watched them all 100s of times (my favorite series), this film was “decent”. It wasn’t horrific but by Scream standards it’s the lowest of the bar. It was rushed when it was made. 4 through 6 are REALLY good and it goes back to it’s roots. PLEASE don’t give up on this series! ❤
Awesome how you put it together that Maureen had a son!! I think it was meant to be the detective before they changed who the killer was! Now he’s just a legit creep who was way too into the case. Knew who Sid was and had a file on her, liked movies and made references like Billy, and used this opportunity to get close to Sidney which ended up working in for him in the end. All in all the fact he was a fan, took the case, and then ended up in their living room hanging out was weird
Roger Jackson has done the voice of Ghostface for every Scream movie that's been made The reason this sequel is more cpmedic was because it was originally gonna be more violent was gonna have Stu revealed to be alive having students doing his dirty work but then they had to severely tone it down in light of the recent Columbine school shootings
28:44 Fun fact, Scott Foley was actually stabbed by Neve Campbell by accident. She missed the pad on his shoulder and stabbed him for real. So that was a real scream from him being stabbed.
Is this confirmed, because that apparently also happened to Skeet Ulrich in Scream 1 - when Sidney bursts out of the closet and stabs him with the umbrella tip. Did you get the movie right, or is Neve Campbell just clumsy?
This reaction is probably the best one I've seen because you had the exact same theory as me 😂 I was actually shocked at the reveal because I thought I had it all figured out.
There was the briefest moment in time where the blunt, short bang was a thing. I never understood it, and I really think that it was some kinda joke that got out of hand.
I definitely think there was probably a version of the script where Jennifer and Detective Kincaid were the killers. That's why both used Dewey's phone at some point, attempting to track Sidney. Kincaid told Sidney he grew up in Hollywood. In that draft, he was probably her brother and Jennifer was his ambitious by-any-means girlfriend. Remember when in the closet/mirror scene Jennifer screams she can't die because she's the actual killer in the script? Also, Sam questioning if all of the Stab cast was in on it was a VERY interesting theory. This is from Wikipedia's 'Scream 3' page: In a 2013 interview, [Kevin] Williamson further detailed his original script, which would have seen the killers be a "Stab" fan club of Woodsboro kids. "All the members of the club would have been involved in the killings and the final 'twist' of the movie was when Sidney walked into the house after Ghostface had killed everyone... and they all rose up. None of them were actually dead and they'd planned the whole thing."
In one of the early versions of the script, Emily Mortimer’s character “Angelina” was supposed to be the second killer. She would have been Roman’s secret girlfriend. I think they changed it due to runtime.
It was an absolutely brilliant decision to have the culprit call a victim AS HIMSELF. That fooled the audience more than any of the characters! We're all like, 'The killer can imitate anyone's voice! It wasn't Roman!" But it WAS him. I didn't even realize how that happened until I was on my way home from the theater. So clever! What's even more clever is that Roman called as himself when the second victim is killed, so it appears that the pattern of the attacks is still being established. We, the viewers, are becoming accustomed to Ghostface calling as some other person before switching to the "killer" voice...but of course, that's not his voice either. Ingenious. I have always felt that this movie gets ragged on unjustifiably. It's certainly not the low point in the series, as a lot of people think. I also really loved the moment when Jennifer (Fake Gail) tries to save herself from getting slaughtered by claiming that "Gail" turns out to be Ghostface in "Stab 3". Good try Jennifer, but I don't think that would have dissuaded him. A couple of weeks after seeing the movie, I was walking around downtown Chicago when I passed a woman talking to someone on her phone. All I heard was, "It was her brother. And she didn't know that she had a brother." I wanted to ask her if she was talking about this movie, but I restrained myself.
Angelina was originally going to be the Second Killer, but executives meddled and removed that. There were also talks to get Stu Macher to return in Scream 3 as a second killer, but again that was stopped by higherups. Angelina is not officially confirmed to be dead, and was not listed as a victim on the trilogy boxset.
08:37 TBR cracked me up 11:38 and this is how Joe Swanson ♿️ became disabled 😂 The fact you watched Scary Movie first is a classic mistake you can’t *not* see that movie when watching the ones they parodied so well
My appreciation for 3 has grown over time. It is a very fun watch. Fake Sydney was originally the 2nd killer (and Roman's girlfriend). They changed it because execs didn't like that Fake "Sydney" was in a relationship with Sydney's brother (stupid execs). I still watch the movie as if she is the 2nd killer and it works. Looking forward to your reaction to 4 😊
I'm glad you guys liked this! You should watch Arlington Road if you haven't already. It's written by the same guy who wrote this movie (from Kevin Williamson's outline). Scream 4 is better, though, because it's written by Kevin Williamson himself, and he is the best at this. He is writing and directing Scream 7, last I heard. Anyway, I love Scream 4. Can't wait for you to see it. To me, it is the second best in the series after the original Scream. Scream 2 and 3 are interchangeable to me in third place. Scream 6 and 5 are in last place, especially Scream 5.
Scream 1: Sydney's mom has an affair with Billy's dad, ruins his parents' marriage, Billy's mom abandons their family, Billy wants revenge. Scream 2: Billy's mom wants revenge for Sydney killing Billy. Scream 3: Sydney's mom's abandoned son tried to reconnect with her, was rejected, stalked and recorded her, and set everything in motion by telling Billy about the affair. Lot of mommy issues.
Finally! LOL, I had actually given up hope that you guys would check out the rest of the "SCREAM" movie sequels after you watched the 2nd movie. I can't wait to see your reaction videos to the 4th, 5th, and 6th "SCREAM" movies. :)
@@andreadeamon6419 She was in the first 'Tales of the City' series (which is where I knew her from), but that was back in the 90s, which was also a long time ago.
In regards to your guess that Patrick Dempsey is Sydney’s brother, Neve Campbell would eventually go on to play Derek’s sister on Greys Anatomy. So that’s kind of funny. :)
I was totally sold it was Dempsey too lol! For a sequel this really got me, because I usually feel they never live up but this was pretty good. But never mind about Patrick Dempsey @11:35 That's PATRICK WARBURTON!! You're dam right TBR that he was a great Security Guard, he definitely could've ended the movie if he shut the killer down in that moment, but at least he went down hard. The only reason the killer won against him was cuz he cheated with element of surprise + a weapon, otherwise Patrick Warburton woulda pummeled him! Very cool pick for the Halloween season guys! Always love your videos!
I hope you finish reacting to all of them sooner than later. I've always liked the Scream franchise, and these are some of my favorite reactions of yours.
I preferred this to Scream 2, actually - the sequel was just so similar to the original. Very formulaic. I loved Carrie Fisher's cameo - her being angry at the "slut" who slept with George Lucas got the great role lol And, this is the first one where there was only 1 killer.
Most people probably won't agree, but this wraps up everything nicely for me, so I've never bothered with the later films. It's a trilogy, as far as I'm concerned (RIP Randy...again). Parker Posey is just sublime 😍
David Arquette and Courteney Cox met on the set of Scream (1996), dated while shooting Scream 2 (1997), and married a month before principal photography of this movie began. They cut short their honeymoon in order to film it. Cox added "Arquette" to her name, as seen in the credits.
Scream 3 is often thought of the weaker of the original trilogy, but it's a damn good movie in it's own right, and that's just because the first two were exceptional. Again the writing is just so clever back at Woodsboro, but this time on a replica film set!
This was really supposed to be the last Scream movie. Kevin (the writer) and Wes wanted it to be a trilogy, and they knew from the beginning that it was going to be three movies. That’s why the ending was the way it was-Sidney left the door open because she knew it was finally all over and had nothing to worry about. The movies go downhill from here.
There isn't a Scream movie that I DONT like, but I've always had a soft spot for this one. And I won't lie, I used to cry every time Sidney has to kill her own brother. Probably a mix of my affection for Scott Foley and the fact that my big brother was my hero. Plus I was pretty young. Seeing it now, Roman was a shit brother whose only redeeming quality was the actor who played him. You guys cracked me up being suspicious of McDreamy right out the gate 😂 pretty sure we're supposed to suspect him, but y'all went all in on him and it was very entertaining. Hope you guys keep watching the rest of the franchise. They only get more meta and for me, the comedy is what makes these movies the best of the slasher genre.
There’s an incredibly important piece of lore in this movie that we don’t talk about. The fact that Jay and Silent Bob exist means that Alanis Morrissette is God in the scream series.
I think this is the only Scream movie I saw in the Cinema, it's a lot of fun playing 'guess who's the killer' more than the rest to me. But it's a great series and I hope you keep going right up to present. Don't want to give too much info but far as I know, Matthew Lillard had nothing to do with this movie, he does do uncredited voices on two of them though, he was an offscreen voice in the 2nd one as one of the people at a party. Thanks for the reaction, loved it. ❤
This one leans into comedy, and is objectively the funniest Scream with a truly brilliant comedic cast. The comedy is to counteract how dark the story is. We learn Sidney's mother was sexually assaulted and Roman is a child of rape, and that he knew it and was rejected by his mother because of it. He is without question the darkest killer in the franchise. He hates himself and wants to end his entire bloodline. Thus him killing his mother, Milton (the orchestrator of his mother's assault where he was conceived), and trying to kill his sister. So much darker than everyone else who wore the mask. It's not even close.
The famous scream voice was done by: Roger L. Jackson..I don't know if he did this for all movies but certainly for the first trilogy..He would never appear on set, because he would like to be called "The voice" of the killer only I guess..However in part 3 the killer uses a voice recorder wich simulates voices...so it could be Stu on a certain point.....but not in general
Matthew Lillard was originally the killer in the SCREAM 3 script but there was controversy involving Columbine that made the writer go a different direction. The SCREAM 3 script went through a lot of transitions. A female writer wrote 20% of the script but was uncredited bc she didn’t write the majority. You guys were right about a few other things. Kincaid’s partner was also written as a killer at one point as well as “Actress Sidney”. Neve Campbell was forced to do the movie by the Weinsteins. That’s why she’s in it only a total of 15 min. Scott Foley found out last min while on set that he was the killer.
Scream 1 and 2 are the best, in my opinion. I was disappointed with 3 when I first saw it, but I liked that it took place in Hollywood on a movie set, and the relationship between the two Gails, Emily Mortimers weird Sydney-actress and of course Neve Campbell steals every scene she's in - she is the heart of the franchise and the best Final Girl, in my opinion!
32:54 Well you are right... Angelina Tyler was indeed involved originally but they decided like 2/3 into the production to leave it as one killer. Would have been great, Angelina is quite zany in parts of this film. I used to have big problems with the revisionist history and the whole long lost brother tacked on plot but the film is still quite nostalgic to me. I wish however Cotton's death would have been a bit more gory and bigger. I think they planned to have him being hung dead on the Hollywood sign after he got attacked. That would have been pretty cool. Last year a 2 hr 22 minutes Assembly cut of Scream 3 leaked and basically every kill scene has a bit more of an edge to it. It's all a bit slimmed down in the final cut. Jennifer should have survived, she was fun... eventhough I think Parker Posey who played her thought she was in Scary Movie 😅😂 Matthew Lillard was already paid for the movie he was originally in the film as Stu who is in prison and has a cult following who is out there killing for him. This story was thrown out very shortly before production when the Columbine shootings happened. This plot was used many years later in Kevin Williamson's tv series 'The Following'.
I have so much nostalgia for the first 3 movies. I grew up watching them. 4 came out when I was like 14 so I was still a kid and do enjoy that movie but the first 3 are special to me. Also this one has the scariest scene in the whole franchise ! When Maureen is at the window 😂 I do kinda wish they kept Cotton in a bit longer cause I love that guy, he cracks me up in Scream 2

Yay! I just rewatched the first 2 on your channel yesterday and was wondering if you were going to do number 3 this year. What a surprise! Thank you.
Haha I did the same.
I think Scream franchise is one of the rare ones that maintain their quality quite well. No bad movies in it, just which one is your favorite and Scream 3 is my number 3 favorite, but the rest is still super fun for me!
.. you two are so cute putting all this together 😂
I honestly don't understand why people say they don't like this one
Great reaction as always ! From what I've read online, originally Scream 3 was supposed to have 2 killers, with Angelina being the girlfriend/accomplice to Roman. Looking forward to the reactions to the next few installments !
In 2017 this got looked at in a very different light. Lance Henriksen character John Milton as a possible representation of Harvey Weinstein. With John Milton scene talking discusses taking advantage of aspiring actresses and the mirror bedroom.
I always found this interesting with the Weinstein brothers being producers on this movie haha.
love you guys keep the good works!!!
I love Parker Posey - underrated actress
FINALLY‼️ lol great reaction u guys. Plz do all movies soon
Fun Fact: Neve Campbell would later play Patrick Dempsey's character Derek Shepherd's younger sister in a episode of Grey's Anatomy
Everyone craps on the third one, but honestly it’s a lot of fun.
Yeah I think it's under appreciated frankly. Interesting plot too.
Roger Jackson has done the voice of Ghostface for every Scream movie that's been made
The reason this sequel is more cpmedic was because it was originally gonna be more violent was gonna have Stu revealed to be alive having students doing his dirty work but then they had to severely tone it down in light of the recent Columbine school shootings
They changed the plot but the violence wasn't changed although they might have added more comedy to it.
The iconic scream voice in all the _Scream_ films is done by actor Roger L. Jackson. 😁
12:40 OMG ive been asking this for YEARS. You're the first person that I have ever heard ask the same thing!
@@theaikidoka Yup, it's confirmed for both... That was the running joke. Neve nearly kills her castmates. Listen to the DVD commentary.
@@erauprcwa Ah, good to know. Thanks. Also, note to self, don't do action roles alongside Neve Campbell lol
@@theaikidoka lol
Awesome reaction
Beginning death wow suprised
Randy’s cameo was amazing
The trios work together awesome
Roman of course is the killer
Thank You Guys For Watching This!!!!!
Please Continue With The Franchise
I love the whole franchise!!! Part 4 is one of my favorites
This reaction is probably the best one I've seen because you had the exact same theory as me 😂 I was actually shocked at the reveal because I thought I had it all figured out.
Great reaction. Can’t wait for your reaction to Scream 4 in 2028
The scariest thing in this movie is Gayle’s bangs 😅
There was the briefest moment in time where the blunt, short bang was a thing. I never understood it, and I really think that it was some kinda joke that got out of hand.
@ 100% correct 😆
Absolutely. The hairdresser on set needs to be fired yesterday n arrested😂
20:31 Close prediction you had there. 😊
Nope. But Detective Wallace was considered, before Laeta Kalogridis was brought on to do rewrites, and her and Wes decided to just have one killer
Lol Patrick Swayze 😂😂
Ye... I dont trust people who work with orcas tho
Awesome. Can't wait until you get to 6. Happy Halloween!!
How would they bring him back though?
@@Jake-t8t
Stu is not dead in the Scream-verse.
08:37 TBR cracked me up
11:38 and this is how Joe Swanson ♿️ became disabled 😂
The fact you watched Scary Movie first is a classic mistake you can’t *not* see that movie when watching the ones they parodied so well
My appreciation for 3 has grown over time.
“Oh I Got It Wrong!!”
Dan
Best wrong guess yet.
Scream 7 confirmed and can’t wait to see Sidney back in action
I kinda really love the line “what’s your favourite scary movie” then the detective says “my life” so dramatic and I love it 😂
Finally!
LOL, I had actually given up hope that you guys would check out the rest of the "SCREAM" movie sequels after you watched the 2nd movie. I can't wait to see your reaction videos to the 4th, 5th, and 6th "SCREAM" movies. :)
Parker Posey steals the movie.
Love her. She was on as the world turns a long time ago. Sadly haven't seen her in anything for a long time though
@@andreadeamon6419 She was in the first 'Tales of the City' series (which is where I knew her from), but that was back in the 90s, which was also a long time ago.
It's so overused to me now but I honestly do feel she was one of the more underrated/undervalued performers of her time.
In regards to your guess that Patrick Dempsey is Sydney’s brother, Neve Campbell would eventually go on to play Derek’s sister on Greys Anatomy. So that’s kind of funny. :)
That's hot. Wait...
“It was definitely not him” 🤭
David Arquette and Courteney Cox met on the set of Scream (1996), dated while shooting Scream 2 (1997), and married a month before principal photography of this movie began. They cut short their honeymoon in order to film it. Cox added "Arquette" to her name, as seen in the credits.
14:32 notice Courtney and David all tanned up, they just got back from their honeymoon before shooting that scene.
what a weird thing to know
@@paulelroy6650 I listened to Wes cravens commentary on scream3
Gale telling Jennifer to “wait for the f’n movie” cracks me up every time
Scream 3 is often thought of the weaker of the original trilogy, but it's a damn good movie in it's own right, and that's just because the first two were exceptional.
This one gets crapped on a lot, but i love it. I think it is the most entertaining.
People give this movie a hard time but I think it's so much fun.
There’s an incredibly important piece of lore in this movie that we don’t talk about. The fact that Jay and Silent Bob exist means that Alanis Morrissette is God in the scream series.
16:41- RIP CARRIE FISHER!!!!!😢
Scream is a horror comedy n no one can prove me wrong lol it was more comedy then stabby lol every line is golden
This is kinda of stepdown in the franchise, cool reaction as always Schmitt & Samantha, you both take care

Parker Posey cracks me up in this movie
Maureen coming up to the window is the scariest thing in all the Scream movies 😂
Here we go Sam’s “Oh No!!”s!!
Hell yeah, let's goooo.
I think Neve was busier at the time so they wrote in more for Gail and Dewey.
Happy Halloween ❤️
Jennifer should have survived, she was fun... eventhough I think Parker Posey who played her thought she was in Scary Movie 😅😂
Matthew Lillard was already paid for the movie he was originally in the film as Stu who is in prison and has a cult following who is out there killing for him.
