She's Australian actually. Assuming you thought she was from the UK. Easy mistake to make! Sometimes I think the Australian accent sounds English and the South African accent, like New Zealand or something😂
Today, I was at my local Florist, and the floor was a buzz with cuttings...they literally urged me to take some Carnations Stems...and I got a Handful of Rose Stems too! Amazing! I have them under Humidity in various containers! :) What a Day! I have a promise to come back for more in one week, making myself a visitor every Friday! I was Welcomed!
Thank you so much for sharing going to give this a try I will do one with honey and one with rooting powder. When ever I have tried rooting gel or powder they have never worked. Someone told me for roses a potato and cinnamon on rose stem works well. Going to give that a bash too.
Well , Hello ! I am down Newcastle way in NSW ! Just came across your short but very informative Video , my Young Lady ,lol ! I thank You for it ! I have Propagated Carnations before but not like You described it ! Mine are a hit and a miss ! At the moment I have three 2.4 Metre long by 200 mm high and 120 mm wide Wooden Beds that I made and they are full with Seeds bought from Bunnings and growing quite well ! No Flowers yet but soon ! Also , I watched other Videos on how to prune the Carnations to get bigger Blooms of the Flowers ! I will try it all ! Carnations are the first Flowers I ever bought for my Wifey before we were even Married and she sure Loves them ! Thanks again , Cheers , Klaus !
Wonderful video thanku ! I liked this video in particular because it was concise, as well as informative. I hate when people drone on about something such as a series on raspberry growing I watched the other day; the u-tubers padded out the video to make it longer which wastes precious time. However this video was perfect, and it's great to know about the bottle-propagator too, many thanks for this. I had wondered where I was going wrong as I'd take good cuttings but they would always dry out & "crisp-up". Many thanks !!
Just tried this! Super excited to see the results. I used a 4L bottle and a few cuttings from a Mother's Day carnation my 5yo gave me. Hoping it works as it would be so cool to remember it 🥰
I planted carnation seedlings about a month ago (40 germinated) that are doing well so far (my first for growing carnations). After seeing your great video, I want to do a compare and see if I can raise carnations from cuttings like you taught and see a compare. Thank-you for sharing your expertise!
I tried this a few wks back with some carnations I had gotten in mid March. Out of 7, I have 2 that have grown new stems/leaves🥰 (idk the correct word.) I’m so excited to seeing them grow more!
Thanks so much! I recently got into gardening, and a friend said that sphagnum moss can help with keeping the container humid. Do you think it’s a good idea?
Great explanation. One question. You said once planted you’ll have that carnation growing in your garden forever. I live in zone 6/7. If I plant it in the ground, will it come back year to year?
Could you explain more in depth on where to cut the stem? Sorry if its a confusing question i know nothing about flowers and am trying to save a carnation
First cut is done under a node and the second cut should be above a node. Nodes are those little lumps on the stem she points at where the leaves grow from

Hello, I liked how you explained very easily and your video gave me hope please support me🥲 do you think that I can use this technique with my anastasia& eucalyptus bouqet? It is my engagement bouqet and I don’t want it to die, I want to keep it alive and put it in my future home🥲🙏🏻 thanks again💕
I never knew carnations could be propated from the flower stems. Thanks so much!
Omg thank you for posting this video. It's one of the few that propagates it from flowers. A huge thanks, great work!
Never realised how simple it is to propagate these great flowers, thanks a bunch UK👍

Yes but just keep an eye on it to ensure it's not making it to wet
@@westridgefloristtoowoomba8079 ok, thank you so much!

I'm not 100% sure though I think they will. I would suggest taking a few cuttings to have as a back up for replanting.
Grate tutorial. What is the compound name?

Great advice,thanks Lady
Thank you for sharing ❤❤
This is so clear . Thank you
Once we close the bottle how many times needs to be sprayed?
Not until it produces roots the water will recycle in it however if you think it looks a bit dry give it a spray.
What a great video, thank you!
Does the container have holes?
Did you make holes on the bottle cap??
Nope
Should this be kept indoors or outdoors?
Either outside or inside where it's got good sunlight so near a window hope you have good success!!
Does it work the same if I don’t have compound?
If you don't have compound use honey.....without either it may work but will take longer
How do you save like a wedding bouquet

Chemist or supermarket or hardware all have them or you can repurpose a house hold spray bottle. Just wash it out we'll using a bit of detergent.
