Welcome to freedom brah. I had a similar start. Built my first PC and then built more and more for friends and family. Then I became an engineer at a software company. Fedora is the best BTW. Way better than Debian and Arch lol
Not trying to mock you here or anything, but can you explain what makes Fedora better? I've used Linux Mint for years and now I've started the switch to MX Linux (both XFCE). I've tried Fedora back in the day (Fedora 25) and just didn't adapt to it too well... Has it gotten better since then? And in what ways? Please elaborate if you can, I genuinely want to try Fedora again some day...
Man i really loved it. I'd like to see more updates on this linux machine. I'd like to see tutorial/guide like mutahar (SOG) from you n how you made it.
I'll learn about virtual machines, since I wouldn't want to wipe my computer after configuring all of my emulators. I basically did everything Muta said to do, except I highly do not recommend updating your drivers through the Driver Manager. My computer would not boot, took days to not figure out, and reinstalling Mint 21.3 over again, so update drivers through the glorious terminal.
Get ready for the best computing experience you ever had. I am happy to tell you, you took the red pill 💊. Welcome to freedom buddy. Get comfy, you'll be here for the rest of your life.
Which laptop model do you have? Linux Mint has a really old base so it's not great for new hardware like others have said. But also runs old version of drivers and display protocol, so gaming might be a better experience on a different distro. That's just my 2 cents as a nerd tho. Good video, you should post a bit about machine learning if you get into it.
The laptop I used to use for everything was a Dell Inspiron 5577, a gaming laptop. To clarify, if I read this wrong, this video is not showcasing my laptop, but the computer I built.
In my experience, running Linux mint with the 6.5 kernel is completely stable. Those needing newer kernels still have choices on mint but are likely to be using Arch based distros.
RetroArch could give you most, if not all those pinned emulators in one place.
The truthfulness of the old saying of "If you plan on playing games, use Windows" is starting to become a lie...

I'd update the kernel If I were using bleeding edge tech like RTX 4000 or 13+14th gen CPU
I'll look into that. Thank you

Your "new setup" needs some adjustment. EXTREMELY quiet mic in this vid. Glad I have external speakers, I'm very interested in what you have here. :)
Thanks. I'm still working on adjusting audio mixing for future vids
