I think the challenge went so well because the restriction of no STAB really forced your noggin into overdrive. This nuzlocke was clean and well played!
What a fun run. Was great seeing all of these different moves on various mons And obligatory, "You don't get to be champion of the Pokemon League without knowing how to spam full restores!"
How about a Nuzlocke where you're limited to pokemon with a base speed stat of 60 or lower! A lot of strats seem to rely on outspeeding, so it'd be cool to see how you make due with (almost) always going second!
@Whatastandupguy I believe you mean to say set up stalling means that you're wasting Turns till your opponent struggles because you have no win condition.
Even though I rarely use it, my favourite Eeveelution is Vaporeon. There's usually a bunch of better water types to pick up, but I've always loved Vaporeon's design and how bulky and reliable it is in battle. Espeon is probably a close second for the same reasons, and I've used it more often in my own runs.
Vaporeon's also my favorite, but like you I also don't use it that much, for similar reasons. However, I'm more likely to use my own runner-up, Umbreon. It's my go-to Eeveelution for HGSS due to Taunt, Payback, and giving it a Lagging Tail to almost guarantee going last.
i love how at the end, even when Sandslash didn't have much of an impact, flygonHG was still humble, and was like "it's ok, not everyone is lucky" instead of getting mad.
I do enjoy watching Nuzlockers doing some interesting challenges. Also, Flygon, Littlelocke in the future? I would like to see you attempt that challenge.
Glaceon is definitely my favourite eevee. They have a beautiful design. I’ve also a newfound appreciation of Espeon of late though so they would probably take second place.
I love your videos flygon! You put so much thought and effort into your nuzlocke challenges, and your video style is so funny and relaxing at the same time. Its always a pleasure watching, keep up the good work!
STABless runs are ones I've seen on the forums sometimes, yeah! It's cool to see them make their way to the TH-cam side of the Nuzlocke community - Not to say that one is better than the other, by any means, but runs like these are a nice change of pace from the monotypes a lot of folks do! If you're interested in other rulesets that have similar added rules but give you opportunities to use a wide variety of Pokémon, a similar option would be a run where you can't use super effective moves! Or ones that have similar rules to the monotypes in terms of Pokémon restrictions, but based on other factors, like a Colorlocke, where you can only use Pokémon of a particular color in the dex... oh, or one I tried out last year called a Chainlocke, where you unlock types as you catch new Pokémon, and lock the types away as they die, based on the ones you currently own - So for instance, starting with Charmander, you can catch Fire and Flying types since that line is Fire and Flying types, and then when you catch, say, a Pidgey, you unlock Normal, since Pidgey is Flying and Normal! But then if your Charmander dies and you haven't caught a Vulpix or Growlithe or something, Fire types are locked away again, since you don't have a living Fire type. It's not very hard in Kanto imo, but there's some interesting potential in games with more limited encounters and type variety, especially early on!
Great video! It's nice that you took a break, these challenges are draining after all. I didn't know what STAB moves were so I learned something new haha I wish the next challenge includes a Nosepass, to expand on the lore of Nosey.
