- The Energy Transition Advisory Committee (ETAC) has issued a study that suggests diesel as a fuel should be banned in India by 2027. What does the ETAC actually say? Is the diesel ban likely to happen? What happens to your diesel car? What is the future of diesel as a fuel in India? Shams Raza Naqvi and Kingshuk Dutta discuss all this and much more in the first ever episode of the car&bike podcast.

Sir, em looking to buy diesel kia seltos facelift, but confuse about ban. I work in NCR but hometown is in rural haryana. Should I buy diesel or petrol😊
You can go ahead and buy a Diesel specially if your daily running is high. As of now Diesel cars can run for a full 10 years in NCR.
My view is the same. Need a more long term and structured implementation rather than recommendations that may sound ground-breaking but not practical to implement
It is a great topic and you guys have done an amazing job explaining the subject in depth, however it would be too early to implement the rule, but it's about the right time to make people aware of it.
I love how they talked about the topic in depth 😮
Interesting
I just bought Tata Nexon diesel costing 16lakhs. My emi is for 5 years and I'm going to use it only for 4 years?😢
A well justified podcast, loved it 🔥🔥
Should i buy altroz diesel now in 2023 or Should i skip it
The current rule for diesel engine vehicles is that they can be run for 15 years. For now, no decision taken on not registering diesel vehicles after 2027.
Stopping from the manufacturing end does make sense...but its very unfair to see very well maintained less used high end SUVs like innova, fortuners, safaris, bmws etc forced to get sold out of DelhiNCR moving in other areas just because of that pollution hype.
Just think for that matter how is it that these same cars do not cause such pollution during Feb-October, but are heavily penalised during november-feb (coinciding with stubble burning in Punjab) for causing pollution when BS/Euro norms are perfectly tuned as per govt stipulations.
Plus most of these SUVs hardly cross 50-100k kms in 10 years time untill they are scrapped/sold out. I cannot ever figure out that how well maintained LMV private disel cars cause so much pollution.
I think Mr Gadkari and our lawmakers are in a tearing hurry to get into deal with Elon Musk to sell as much batter vehicles as possible which is highly unethicle.
Atleast the running Diesels should be allowed to complete their lifespan as they are highly efficient and most f the car buyers cannot jump onto buying hydrogen-battery car just as Mr Gadkari pleases.
Hey guys ...i m from madhya pradesh..here is no rule of 10 years or so ,,
So my question is should I go for diesel car my running is not so much but i love that torque in diesel car
I m planning for altroz or nexon diesel ..on emi.
Go for it if you're ok with the price difference considering low running. Both are good options.
Obsolescence holds sway, across the board. It was obsolete even before you bought it. Especially anything connected to electronics. Harsh realities of life. It was good while it lasted 🤷♂️
It's a good initiative, but India needs a little bit more time to implement it😊
No please I want that Torque...
Just read tweet of Mr.Andy Palmer 4mer Engineering Chief of Nissan and now heading Switch Mobility the electric arm of Hinduja owned Ashok Leyland and STUDY done in 2021 by VOLVO that Electric Vehicle manufacturing leaves 70% MORE Carbon Footprints in comparison to making ICE car.
Latest study of IIT Kharagpur.
In india nobody can speak against govt. Its like north korea
Only Diesel....
Electric is not practical...
So it’s advisable to buy diesel car in 2023 ?
Hi MITESH SHAH! Thank you for your question. However, any decision is most likely to impact new cars and not the ones already being used.
@@carandbike Can I buy Currently new diesel car ?(due to per day running 150km)
