My mom is 100 years old and still healthy and sane. She ate a lot of red and white meat directly bought from her brother in law’s farm. She liked her steak cooked extra rare. She drank about 2 coffees and tea everyday. She ate a lot of home made sweets such as butter tarts and all fruit pies. She is doing great!

Another source of wisdom on health and longevity is ayurveda from India it's said to be older and than traditional Chinese medicine.
Im almost 69 years old and 6 years ago i lived in a second story apartment and arthritis in my left shoulder, left elbow, and both knees was very painful. Begged my doctor for pain relief but everything he prescribed either didn't work or helped a little. So i started doing research.
Every morning i woke in agony a pain level of 7-8. First thing in the morning was "Oh God i hate mornings" so o started reading researching drug free pain relief. I stumbled across an ayurveda recipe with three simple spices
Turmeric, ginger and black pepper in proper proportions. So i made the dog spice blend powder and took about 3/4-1 tsp of the blend first thing in the morning with 2 tablespoons of lemon juice with a teaspoon of honey to improve The flavor.
The recipe was supposed to be made into a hot tea one drank in the morning.
Lemon juice is acidic but many doctors report that once in the body it boosts the body's alkalinity.
It didn't really make sense but tried it "just in case they were right".
I drank that blend in 2-3 swallows every morning. At first i didn't feel any relief but i kept it up. But after 2 weeks i started noticing relief. After 3-4 weeks my mornings didn't start with "Oh God I hate mornings anymore". My pain levels dropped From 7-8 down to a 1-2. Shortly afterwards i was walking a mile or 2 before Breakfast.
I still drink that concoction every morning. I even told my doctor how much this simple recipe helped.
At prices as of a few months ago i could but the spices to last about two years for $20-22 dollars. If you want the recipe, and the spices I buy on Amazon send an email, and i will send you the recipe, with links to the spices, and you don't want to deal with the loose spices i will also send you almost the same recipe in capsule form. The only difference is the capsules use more turmeric than my recipe called for.
    Address
kahuna2bears@gmail.com. i was called the big kahuna by people in the IT industry after i sent testified in a class action suit against crooked computer store owner and sending them to the big house (prison). Its cute and i used as part of my email address ever since

Traditionalist Chinese medicine and philosophy is very interested and it was very pupular in the 60’s with macrobiotic. It existed in the basic form as a low fat starch based with vegetables and a bit of miso and small amount of fruits ( too much fruit too yin and too cooking) and they used 10 different where the one used to treat disease was most stric Rice and vegetables

Thank you for this very informative video. I'd add that for me, someone with a highly sensitive bio-marker on my DNA, proper therapy has been the single greatest component in wellness. I've always lived in this constant "fight or flight" space, which is very harmful, chiefly because of the cortisol coursing through my system and wreaking havoc in my central nervous system. Learning skills to better cope with my stress-response, has been an incredible restorative.

There’s no such thing as a “Mediterranean diet.” Anymore than there’s a Kentucky diet or Haitian diet. The very idea of a “Mediterranean diet” was made up by a professor. It’s a vague wishy washy grouping of foods that tend to be found in the Mediterranean but no clear do’s/dont, no macro or micronutrients guidelines. It’s just a big “hey, isn’t olive oil great?!👍🏼 “. Avocados are wonderful and not historically part of the Mediterranean. It’s a new world food. Is it part of the so called diet? It’s a stupid “diet” that is only good for selling books and duping the gullible.

we need to use care in looking at diets of Blue Zones or as i did recently which was diets of countries with least amount of IBS - these areas might be the same or have significant overlap w blue zones you speak of. initially i thought this is easy then it occurred to me just blindly following the diets might not get same results if i didnt take into account the sourcing/processing of the foods. factoring in pesticides for example or any other commercial processing practices with produce, grains, meats, etc.

If you mean the US, it is a big country with many different regions with different ways of eating. We eat fruits, vegetables, meats, and healthy grains. All man made foods are bad for us as humans, but if you misprepare God's food, and do not cook or clean them properly, they can also harm. A family I know got parasites visiting a certain African country. So, everyone needs to be careful of the foods they put in their mouth.
