The amount of knowledge I’ve learned from this channel is amazing
One huge reason I watch every video of his, literally have become so much more well diverse in the different universes because of the channel
What people consider knowledge these days is amazing
I think they are a really really underrated collectable, and honestly, with more exposure to the meduim, I can only think the early out of print stuff will be sought after soon.

I'm always amazed by current omnibus craze. When I worked at a comic shop they were some of the slowest sellers.
I feel like they still don’t sell well in retail. But online they’re hot.
@@GemMintCollectibles Probably because they can get them cheaper online. They just go to comic shops when online bookstores run out just as you said in the video.
The worst thing (I guess xD) about this channel is that it’s so well explained and the review are so good that I end up buying stuff that I didn’t knew I needed!
I made a killing selling my omnibus books. I had all first prints. Thor omnibus vol.1 Kirby cover sold for a little under 1k. bought a lot of nice comics with that money. Once books go out of print the prices sore. From my experience anyways.
Feel bad for that person if it ever gets a reprint 🤣 Congrats on selling it tho best feeling is when you make extra money on the side.
@@Trillionairejourney Ya know you bring up kind of a good point brother.....Do reprints kill the value of older prints when it comes to Omnibus books? I wonder what Gems take is on it.
@@GHite-vf8wr I think so. Personally I would rather save money and buy the reprint than the 1st print. Usually they fix mapping too.

I'm not gonna lie before I ever got an omnibus I was skeptical of how big they were and if they would be uncomfortable to read, but now I have 6 and they are dope! Easily one of the best ways to get the entirety of a story you're looking for
I'm still waiting on Savage Sword Of Conan Omni 1 to come back to earth on price.
Aftermarket prices on some of the books I’ve missed out on are outrageous so I’m really thankful for reprints

I run a record store and have been a collector of most physical media since I was a kid. This is a great resource for the 101 of collecting almost anything. Know your market well enough and you’ll know what to buy and when/where

Some books are just priceless to you. Know plans to ever (never say never) sell my omnibuses. But this has become such a fun, and could be an expensive hobby.

Man great video. The Omni shirt though digging that. I’m not even about selling mine I just love the collection. I’ve only paid a little over 100 for one that was out of print. My collection growing like crazy. This has become my favorite thing to collect.

Great video my friend! Maybe you could do another one on statues and what to look for if you are interested in using them as an investment to be either traded or sold down the line.
A fabulous, thorough explanation overall! Just wanted to point this out: for us international collectors, the up-to-50% discounts are very rarely found on the day of release. With some luck, Amazon, BookDepository, Archonia, and others may offer discounts but only if they have books left that didn’t sell out on release. Hardly the case with big Marvel/DC titles. I would say it’s a really expensive hobby for someone outside the US, but no less enjoyable!

I love the omnibus format. Very convenient, and for me far less expensive than trying to get the complete runs from my childhood and before that I care about and not go completely broke in the process.
Once You Showed me the Omnis It hurts to buy Single Comics lol I want the whole Series !!!! 🙌
I could never hope to replace my original collection (long since lost - was made to sell when I went to college) so I've been snapping up Omnis from the runs I had and it's been nice to have access to so many of my favorite comics again - even if not the same as having the original issues. That said, I've missed some volumes just by virtue of when I started paying attention and it's frustrating when they are OOP and only available at more than double cover price less than 24 months after originally published (looking at you Savage Sword of Conan Vol. 1, among others). Really hope Marvel keeps reprinting and adding more volumes to their line.

Good video, pretty informative for those new to the hobby. I would like to see a follow-up vid explaining to people why prices for new books are so low and available at a discount compared to other collectibles like statues, but it's mostly just boring economics of supply & demand, edition sizes/print runs, and stock/warehouse storage availability.

Definitely makes you think when buying or passing on an omnibus or deluxe type edition of a book.

I've definitely discovered that you can probably get cover price back or more on any Omni eventually. When Death and Return of Superman sold out its 2nd printing in like day, which I have I was seeing it on eBay for like 3 time cover, which is cool. You should do a follow up video. The regret of those who buy a book on the aftermarket for some ridiculous price and a week later a reprint is announced. That's painful on the other side of the coin, but as they say. The books are worth whatever someone is willing to pay.

So i used to lightly collect comics in HS like in 04ish mostly carnage some spider man n randoms (mortal kombat, spawn) but i never new omnibus’ existed lol in one week alone i bought 3 😂😂😅😅 but thanks for your videos big dog they’ve helped me to pin point which ones i needed
