      +Hassan Nabih It doesn't compare. Not in terms of quality, just in terms of theme and atmosphere.

      not in terms of quality? excuse me? lool you must be joking.

      Hassan Nabih ?
      What I mean is that they don't compare in terms of theme and atmosphere. In terms of quality, sure, they're both fine shows.

      +Trent Hamilton I thought this season of The Leftovers was amazing, but Fargo is literally the best show I've ever seen.

    Good review everyone.
    I guess we should have known the girls were GR members. In that first episode after they were frolicking in the lake we see a scene with them in the car and they are completely silent and straight faced. It seemed like an out of place scene after how happy and expressive they were just prior to that. Turns out it was a clue to whom they were really associated with.

    Doesn't the reveal of Evie at the end of "Ten Thirteen" somewhat disprove the "bird in the box" theory? Her mother believes that when she wished that her daughter would be taken care of if she left the family, she attributed her disappearance to "being taken."

    megs fascination with the departure is odd considering she didn't lose anybody. Perhaps because her mother died the previous day she's expressing her frustration at people forgetting through departure

    Even the music plays with you on this show,
    Ep 9 used furious five, kurtis blow white lines, a cocaine song, meaning we the audiences mind blown, revolving around Meg
    Ep 1 used Bobby blue bland, rocking the same old boat, kind of a civil rights song, used when the garvey's move to jardin, kind of like look who's moved in.
    A very well writing show. I gotta seen the finale, and I will probably leave with more questions than answers

    International Assassin was incredible. But again, I didn't hate the ending of Lost and the episode reminded me of Lost in a big way.

    C'mon guys, the beauty of the show has always been that it takes place in the supernatural and the whole meaning can be summed up in the opening song. And I agree with Alonso; great song.

    International Assassin is the most ambitious and arguably the best episode of the series, and you guys decided to combine it with episode 9 in your review? Really? Usually I wouldn't mind, but International Assassin deserves a stand alone review.
    You uploaded 5 reviews in one night. 4 of which are multiple episode reviews. Catching up much? And what about Fargo? You guys are three episodes behind. Are you doing a three episode review? These are two of the best shows on TV. They deserve stand alone reviews. It's better when you don't know what happens in the next episode. Yeah, I know the two episodes of The Leftovers are unrelated, but you still managed to let episode 9 spill into your review of 8.
    Save the multiple episode reviews for Netflix. What the fuck, What The Flick?

      I was expecting a review like how they got into GOT which is jot close to compared to this show.
      Its like every week they miss the symbols and reference of this show and just gloss over it like the walking dead. Like just now they got the bird in the box?
      This show is not for them, its for thinkers and for puzzle players and these people reviewing 5 shows in a row don't have room for that kind of thinking.

    • @Bonitaymorena
      @Bonitaymorena 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +HeirOfGlee You're so right this show has so much detail just like lost your really have to pay attention to every second. So do you think it was actually supernatural and that was like purgatory?? Also was John molested by the grandpa or was it the grandson Michael?? I thought the grandpa was talking about John but some people think it was Michael. This weeks episodes was even better!!!

    • @HeirOfGlee
      @HeirOfGlee 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      MsLoupe aka Bonitaymorena
      The molestation I cant even figure, I thought it was the wife that was molested. But its obvioulsy supernatural for me because (and we keep forgetting) people disappeared , even the baby in a womb disappears before her eyes.
      Also all the way across the seas a guy died and came back to life and said he was in a hotel the whole time, just like this episode. So cant be a coincidence all the way in Australia for a guy to say he was in a hotel when he was dead.
      Also remember father say that picture move when he asked for a sign?
      with all of that you cant say its scientific for a baby to disappear in the womb , or a girl right from under you.

    • @Bonitaymorena
      @Bonitaymorena 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      HeirOfGlee ohh snap I forgot about the picture. Yes it's definately like Lost where some aspects or supernatural and some or easily explained like the girl joining the GR. And Med possibly blowing up the river. I really hope they manged to get renewed for season 3 so we can learn more about the man in Australia and Kevin's father who's a prophet.

    It’s funny that nobody on the panel grasps the whole super power angle/storyline. I just finished S2. It’s pretty clearly a story about people who’ve been gifted with powers.

    Firstly, Michelle Boley, you are very smart, Coulda listened to you and Alonso feed into each other's observations and theories for much longer than this format allowed. What is the reason that such small amounts of time are allotted for these reviews and discussions? I sincerely think we would all forgive What the Flick... if you never do this again with such intense material. I gotta say it's worth the extra production cost to maintain your audience. Thank you n advance for your consideration :)

    I think the mother wanted to tell the pencil joke. Because that is the first thing Meg tells after visiting the palm print guy.
    Also Megs phone has the same ringtone that the sound in John's house he could not find in 1st episode.
    In Purgatory Kevin drives the same Mercedes in which girls disappier.
    And both times Kevin survives death there is an earthquake. Only because of earthquake the water is gone and the second time it helps to dig himself out of the grave. Otherwise it is pretty hard to dig yourself from the grave. But maybe that doesn't matter.
    The Purgatory reminded me of Inception. You fill it with people you know - your concience.

    • @stevend24
      @stevend24 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Rihards Grigs That's a good catch for the ringtone. Maybe that was Evie's phone she secretly hid in the house to get in contact with Meg?

    I love the idea that the explosives were used to drain the lake thus distracting from the girls escaping the town. But what are they up to?? There was that a flash of a scene showing the trailer on the bridge (When Meg was talking to other leaders of the Guilty Remnants). Not sure if it was parked on the bridge or heading into town. I have highly enjoyed this season!

    love the show. love your critiques.
    that said -- Ben, get a grip. the poison Kevin took was described as a substance that would "stop his heart" & allowed for resuscitation prior to 5 minutes to prevent brain death.
    i love the way the show hints very heavily at the supernatural while also undermining those hints. the interpretation is yours -- not empirical proof of either. pay closer attention.

      +Great Owl I think they were spreading their scent around the woods, to prepare for later searches. Meg would've given Evie instructions and having come from a home with an abusive father, the sense of being needed empowered her (Evie seems to enjoy the secrecy. The broken pencil joke while playing catch with her dad, (ntm whatever's in that unopened present to John) The heated sign language conversation with her mom the night before so John couldn't "hear".... She wants power and has been programmed to committ suicide with her teenage companions. Who else could Meg have convinced to go along? the foreshadowing of the grenade on the bus...

    • @PaperDragons
      @PaperDragons 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Danielle Mosley True. I think the trailer may be packed with explosives. If the do hang themselves in the GR white suits they may blow the trailer when everyone comes to see... unless of course Tom sops them... but you already know someone will be standing right behind him. Exciting to see what will happen!

    I think Kevin was only unconscious in "real" time for about 5 mins and only a few seconds after being buried. He was never going to need the epinephrine shot. Evangeline told her dad the pencil Knock knock joke in E1while playing pitch, which she got from Meg while eating carrots. The girls were running in the woods without their clothes but they were not scared or trying to run away from something, they were running "to" something.

    It still doesn't mean Kevin wasn't just hallucinating and had a low heart beat. Unless he had been dead and buried for days at the point he woke up, in that case it really is supernatural.

    • @HeirOfGlee
      @HeirOfGlee 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      What about the real life Australian guy coming from the dead from in the caves saying he was in a hotel, also in the hotel Kevin ask for where the well was and he responded "do you mean the caves?".

      HeirOfGlee You mean his father?

    • @HeirOfGlee
      @HeirOfGlee 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      KarstenOkk
      No his father only contacted him through the TV which is why the fire alarm kept comming on he can only communicate through fire, but Kevin guild (forgot his name think its virgil) before he left with the littel girl he asked where the well was and vigil ask "did he mean the caves"
      the Australian (which can be the guy on the bridge because of his accent) at the beginning of this season it was said to be dead and come back to life and he came from the caves. This was in the news before they shut off the tv. The Australian said he was in a hotel this while time.
      also that bird that didnt come back t life was in the same hotel before virgil killed him after he drank the water.

    • @KarstenOkk
      @KarstenOkk 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      HeirOfGlee Yeah I got the bird part, but that whole cave story looks like some serious detective work. I'm gonna take your word for it

  • @MathyMuso
    @MathyMuso 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Still hold the opinion that none of it is supernatural. Had to really over think it, but I'm sure Kevin just seemed dead as opposed to actually dead. The grandpa drinking the water and erasing his memory is probably a confirmation to us, the audience, that he is in fact dead (unless he's alive in the real world, then that buggers my theory completely)
    All that said, one of the best hours of television drama EVER! Second maybe to Ozymandias (breaking bad).
    The Liv Tyler episode was cool too I guess...
