Hi bob, thank you!! I have so many stencils and I made them all. It’s brilliant just digging in and choosing a handful. I’ve decided I want more skinny ones though so I’ll probably cut a few down. Texture plates are a double edged sword. Once it’s all glued on, that’s it…no changing it up. But on the other hand there’s no way I’d have had all those wee bits handy.
My dear Kirsten, every pull turned out to be an unique artwork and expresses your UNIQUE Style. I really adore your distinctive way of art. I would frame each of these works with high quality passepartouts and frame them right away. Compliment, you are a real artist! All the best from Carinthia, Austria 🥰
Aw Judith, thank you 🥰 I actually realised when I was making these that I have made a lot of stuff and all the hard work and time is paying off now, as these were very quick to make and mostly worked well together. All the best to you too 🥰🥰🥰
Loved seeing the black and white printing, so creative, and cool! I'm smitten with combo of black, white and a touch of red, I use often. Love your stencil shapes, and the collograph boards are really great!
Hi Kirsten. Lovely prints and what you make of them is astonishing for me. I wish I could see the prints through your eyes, because I am far from being able to sort out which parts will be in the forground or background. So I´ll go on watching, training my visual capacities . Perhaps you could make a video showing your process (it´s not easy perhaps using oil paints because of the drying periods...) Wishing you sweet and artful dreams Britta (send you a mail)
Hi Britta ❤️, I will definitely make a video, I’m trying to get a few under my belt first. I’m very annoyed with myself though, I filmed my first use of them and thoughts…but deleted it in error 😩😖😩😖😩😖 I have limited storage on my phone so delete after video put on YT. This got deleted with the last videos lot 😭 These are water mixable oils so touch drying time 1-5 days roughly. Obviously the thicker the layer, the longer the time. I do have artful dreams, I’m obsessed…it’s ridiculous 🤣 I wish you artful dreams too Britta ❤️
Hi Sophie, acetate sheets. I buy them in the range uk. Ten 12x12 inches for £2. You can also use paper, plastic stationery folders etc. I just find the acetate cheap, easy to cut and reusable.
Hi Kirsten..I love watching you work and appreciate your commentary as you work…you wrote that you use acetate sheets to make your stencils. What do you use to cut them?
Hi C, I use scissors and a sort of craft knife. I have a video “how I make stencils for the gel plate, it’s easy” which shows the actual tools and how I design (draw a squiggle with a thick marker) and cut them. I pretty much described the sum total of that video there 😂
I’ve never tried transparency film however a quick google suggests it’s generally Mylar or acetate. I use acetate as easy to cut and cheap!! So I think we use the same thing ❤️
👁👁👉I've been a non content TH-camr observer channel for a couple of years, but I soon will begin posting my music, animation, and graphic art work soon. I'm currently enrolled my in my local commuity collage studying Adobe After Effects software. I'm also building a power PC graphic computer to produce my work on. I looking forward to trying my hand at Gel plate printing also. So,stay tuned.👍
Hi, apologies I’m so late in replying. I’ve had a cold and been painting like crazy, ignoring life in general 😂 I don’t do generic “gee thanks” replies, I’d rather wait and respond properly. That sounds amazing, I will definitely subscribe and watch. My teenage son has a built computer for gaming (end of my knowledge there). Adobe after effects sounds fantastic, I have tried photoshop type software in a trial but the technical skills required were huge. It’s not even about which button to press etc, I have very little understanding of even basic brightness, exposure etc. I probably should as it will likely improve my art. Do you recommend a basic place to start?
@@quirkyqueens👁👁 I'm just messing around with my home channel trying out different looks before I start posting in earnest. Don't worry about about responding when your in the creative art zone, I understand.
@@quirkyqueens 👁👁I'll be playing around with Moho animation software, Blender softeware Because I'm a student I'll have access the Adobe software family and I'll be recording progressive crazy music, photography, sculpture and stop motion studio software drawing and painting. I know, I'm a very strange bird.😎
@@quirkyqueens👁👁👉 To be frank, I think you are doing just fine with what you are doing. Because Adobe software is very expensive. So one must have, access to college instruction software discounts, or parents who are very very rich. All is not lost though, there are free alternative too Adobe software. Do a search on TH-cam to learn what options are available to you.
I love gel prints too. And as for your question at 4:30 yes! Yes, you do need to use gell prints in everthing. It's the law. You're a law-abiding citizen, aren't you? I don't want to be put in the position of having to report you to the council that governs these sort of things. Do the right thing, Kirsten, and put gell prints in everything.
As a lowly member of gelli watch, I will endeavour to read the tomb of policies apple. Imagine my gel plate was removed due to under use of gel prints 😱
I like the way you edited this video. Thanks for showcasing black and white gel printing-neutrals tend to get overlooked.
These black and white prints are excellent! Love your use of stencils and texture plates. Thank you!

Thanks Kathy, I’ve had a cold and been painting like crazy (as you seen on IG). I love how atmospheric black and white is.
I love your black and whites, very inspiring! You create so much depth in those prints by layering the stencils, beautiful!❤🌿
The colligraph patterns really adds to the effect too!❤🌿
Hi boel, apologies for late reply. Black and white is just so atmospheric…I should do it more often!!! It gives your painting a head start I think ❤️🌻
It absolutely does. I’ve been watching Marta on collographprinting channel. I’ve learned so much from her!!!
❤🌿
Thanks for telling me about Marta, I looked her up and love the way she worrks too - very exciting process!❤🌿
👁👁👍Very impressive! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I like this print very much.
It’s the skeleton guy that makes it, amazing what you can achieve with a bit of corrugated cardboard 🥳🤓👀
Hi Kirsten!
Beautiful tuto!
When Dürer meets Man Rey and Surrealism!
Hi Marie, this made my day…what a compliment!!!! Of course I’m going to research both these artists in detail now ❤️
Oh yes, these are great! TY for sharing!
Thanks Sonja, I hope you’re well ❤️
Love the way you throw everything on your plate and get some amazing results 🎉
This should be the description of my channel Reni 😂🥳🥰

Hello from beautiful British Columbia canada
One day I’ll visit Canada, it must be beautiful and it’s so big!!
love those! Kirsten what do you make your home made stencils out of? Thank you, very inspiring stuff!
