Now there are 2 bar from 1150t/mn. the truck has more torque at low speeds. the volvo and scania are set like that at the output of the plant. when it exceeds 1500t/mn, the turbo pressure drops considerably. the truck does not accelerate better and consume more. in the video, at 5:52 turbo pressure is 1.9bar for 1550t/mn. to 5:25 pressure is 2.2 bar for 1400 rpm
I can not really answer this question, it all depends on the conduct of each driver and Calibration of the speedometer or wear of the rear tractor tires. this is why we play to make comparisons equal load always in the same rise

Ahahah...you can´t fool me: at 2:52, volvo put half gear down in order to keep up with Daf (otherwise it was impossible to match it), which maintained at the same gear, at the same speed. Starting at 2:52 until 4:07 where the hill starts to get less hilly, you can see volvo starting to gain terrain while daf is still keeping on the same gear and speed (55km/h, 1400rpm). I´m pretty sure at 2:52 volvo jumped the rpm to 1500-1600, in order to get slightly more torque and power to match daf. In summary, the power of both are quite equivalent, the difference is which one is smart enough to squeeze the engine faster (shifting sooner).
The fact is that the DAF is a ATE version, the older version is able to make a kickdown when you're running up a hill. The ATE is a little bit like a pinched version of the normal XF105, but surprisingly enough the output is exactly the same. The ATE version is set on a limited 85km/h max, but there's a option (not in the truck) to set 89 km/h. I'm curious when you get a new XF euro 6 for a test.

it is also my opinion. but it is the maintenance of the concession volvo and daf who advocated this way contracts. all 100000km for volvo all 90000km for DAF Obviously the oil used does not cost the same price as conventional oil. there anyway intermediate revisions for filter change ....
Ok, thats clear.... Does your DAF drive faster uphill after the move of the turbo range? I know a driver who chip tuned his DAF 105 510. Before the chiptuning the DAF produced 513 hp and 2550 nm on the engine power test. After the Chiptuning it was 591 hp and 2805 nm. Uphill it drives almost the same speed as a V8 R620, and clearly faster than the R560. It has also a little bit better fuel consumption. I don't know precisely the change of it,..because I don't speak the driver very much...
In other video with Magnum 500DXI you saied it was a good consumition and have ratio 2:85 with 315/80 tyres. What your opinion? And the Scania R620 have ratio 3:08,write? Is not very short to the powerfull? You drive with charge go and back?
yes the daf (and this volvo) at an engine speed of 1410t/mn 90km / h. Normally the ratio of 3:08, the engine speed should be 1380t/mn. the speedometer was calibrated with dead tires. GPS says 92km / h

They are good drivers but Volvo is more responsive than Daf. The driver Dfa make good in gear changing because the max torque is bat 1500 rpm,more than this just have more fuel consomition.
Im driving the same daf 510 only with automatic gearbox, and NO WAY that this pussy volvo could pass me...but i think the driver in volvo was better :(
At the end the Volvo will always defeat the DAF :) The Volvo engines are reliable aswell as strong in torque at 'low' rpm. The DAF needs every inch of power to keep going. Causing (as we can also see at the end of the video) temperaturegauge in the area of: Too hot. The Volvo well it stays at it's normal temprature nomatter how you drive it. (trust me i tried to break a Volvo by using the kickdown and the Volvo laughed at me) Fuelusage DAF uses alot more fuel than a Volvo. As shown aswell. So in conclusion: I dont get why there are still DAFs on the Road. Volvo is much better.

Nous avons vraiment voulu faire de notre mieux pour faire ce comparatif mais nous étions équipés que de 2 simples appareils photo numérique dont 1 qui malheueusement n'arretait pas de s'arreter en plein tournage . Obligé d'ouvrir le clapet de la batterie pour pouvoir le redémarer. Ne pouvant pas nous permettre de faire ce genre d'essais sur la route tous les jours , nous avons fait le montage video avec les séquences manquantes. libre à tous d'apprécier cette video comme vous le voulez.

Y a quoi que tu vois pas dans cette vidéo ? On voit juste 2 camions aux performances équivalentes. Le volvo lui a repris 8 ou 10 secondes sur 7mn a la fin. C est totalement négligeable. C est une sensation le manque de pêche du daf. J ai des copains qui font du trajet assez sévère avec du 500 volvo et du daf 510. C est vrai que le sac ne lâchera jamais le volvo . Mais au final, sur thionville pontarlier(330km) ,il n y a pas 5mn d écart entre les 2. Je roule en daf et je connais très bien là sensation de lourdeur ressentie par rapport a un FH. Mais ça n est qu une impression. .

Indeed thats possible, when you buy a ATE DAF you can choose for 85 km/h or 89/90 km/h limited speed.
There's no ATE version of the 510, ATE is 410 and 460 only.
Besides that, a manual gearbox never has a kickdown function.
