Last February I was part of your no spend challenge. It really helped me to reset my finances. But, I did a bit of overspending for Christmas, so I decided on a no spend January and started on the 1st. The first few days take some self-control, but then it gets easier. I tell myself I can only purchase essentials, also I want to be a good steward of the money God has given me. I encourage everyone to try this for one month, it will change how you think about your finances.
I remember that, Jackie!! Thanks so much for sharing your story. I know for me, the concept that God is interested in me with all this money and I am just the manager of it is a huge motivator. I often forget who I am and that is what leads me off course! ❤️❤️❤️
I am using “intentional” this year too! For my finances, my time, and what I bring into my home. I have done a no spend every January, but will be extending it at least until March this year with an intention of cutting my online shopping habit.
I've done plenty of no-spend months because shopping is not a hobby or something I enjoy. It's wonderful to have savings goals... I'm happy to report that we'll be mortgage free by July!
Thanks for sharing, Kathleen. This is very motivating!! I didn’t used to buy much online but lately, if I can’t sleep, I end up scrolling social media, and there are so many ads to convince us of all the things we must have! 😳 I’m hoping to be done with that habit this month!! 😂
Mrs B here, I have been decluttering a little every week but if I don't thrift, I don't add to the stuff. So this month no eBay and no thrifting. Baby steps right?
Hi Mrs.B! Baby steps are actually even a better way to go than drastic changes all at once. You have been working so hard - it is such an encouragement to me!! It’s rare to find someone who doesn’t use Amazon. As much as I don’t like them and prefer to buy secondhand or local, there are still things I purchase for that quick delivery 😬 Thanks so much for sharing! 💛
I've never done a no spend month..I think this is a great idea! I did do a version of this during the summertime when I was a teacher. Not working in the summer meant a lower income with 2 children. I made a personal goal to only shop in my town for necessary items( 1 grocery store and one cvs) , no online shopping, and access free events through the library etc. It was definitely a challenge but it made me think of what I really needed versus wanted.I think February is a good month to try not spending. Thanks for the idea!
I love how you economized during the summer! Living within your means is something that is not taught very often anymore. What a great example you set for your children!! Thanks so much for watching and for commenting. 😁
This is my first no spend month. I do have a birthday so I will spend for that, but I'm trying very hard to use what I already have. It's a challenge as I have trouble making meals from a meal plan because I often don't feel like eating what I've planned . Thank you for your video I just discovered your channel not long ago and I'm so thankful to have found it. God bless you
Welcome to the Peaceful Home, Janice. Thank you for your kind words!! I am very similar as far as meal plans go. I am really trying to simplify and be content with whatever food is in front of me. It’s hard because I’ve definitely been spoiled. 😂 Blessings to you as you tackle your first NSM!!
My longest ever 'no spend' was two years! I changed careers in my late 20s which involved a full-time college course. The only way I could afford it was to hold down three part-time jobs and pare my spending to the absolute minimum. It was tough, but having the end goal in view gave me the incentive I needed to keep going. I remember going out for coffee the month after I finished college, and it felt so strange to be buying something I didn't need!

Are you in? Let me know what you are planning.
Have you done a No-spend Month before? I'd love to hear about it!
I've never tried a no spend month but I'm definitely interested 😊 My word of the year is "Intentional." One of my areas is finances! Thanks, Anne
I love your word choice, Anne!! 😁💛

Wow!! #goals
That is amazing, Jenny! Sounds like you’ve already been telling your money where to go. 🤩
I need to break away from Amazon. I’m going to do a no spend for 30days. Should be interesting!
I’m stopping all online shopping at least until March. It’s become a horrible habit for me.
You can do it, Tanya!
Thanks for sharing. 😁
Mountain garden, Online shopping is just too easy! I have struggled with this, too.
March is a serious commitment- way to go!!
We pretty much did this 5 years ago when Covid started and we had to stay home. We could see a big difference. We seldom buy online.

I don't do Amazon....

Yeah, I enjoy thrifting, but I really should try a no spend month. I think I will give it a try this month.

You’re wearing your new shirt with red, how cute!! Great advice and ideas in this video, thank you!
Hi, Jen!
Thanks for watching!! ❤

Wow!! That kind of dedication is rare...truly delayed gratification. #Respect!
Great job; that must have been so satisfying to meet that goal.
New Subscriber here. I just came across your channel. I am excited to be here supporting. This is a great video.
