Great video. I may have bought this knock off 3 years ago if your video was up then. No matter, I have zero regrets with the N8 Pro and supporting Krikzz.
I just ordered one of these! I'm looking forward to getting it. I think I'm going to create extra folders on mine for the physical carts I have, and for the physical carts I want to get. Just to kinda keep things organized. Thanks for the review!
Great video showcasing this everdrive clone. I really like your transparency showing us the first run and how you loaded games onto it. Also kudos for going through every menu and option - super detailed.
Splatterhouse was released in Japan on the famicom but not here in the states. So that is an official release. Although it may be a fan translated version.
Just had this delivered this afternoon. Well I made a big mistake and fired it up after the wife and kids were asleep... Played Little League World Series and Punch Out for the next 3 Hrs lol. But Im extremely impressed. For $50 its a steal imo. Nothing like playing the Games like it was intended on the Original Software.
'The Goonies' was only released outside of Japan on the Nintendo coin-op systems, such as 'Vs. Goonies', but was a standard Famicom release in Japan. Outside of arcades and Japan, the west only received 'Goonies II', and IMO the original title is the superior game.
Just bought one of these and while it doesn't have EVERY game out there, it's got a heck of a selection along with a few hacks. Though I haven't tried putting any additional ROMs on it yet. I need to get a MicroSD converter before I can.
'Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti' is an excellent Famicom-exclusive prequel to 'Splatterhouse', and is comical in tone. It is a genuine Namco title, not a hack.
The supergame Pro for the famicom or av famicom does everything the krikkz does at a third of price. Has the same memory Runs big games like full quiet, CV 3 any homebrew or unlicensed works but you do need the console
I will always support Krikzz and buy his products, otherwise if he cannot make a profit he'll stop and do something else which would affect all of us, but since the "old" Everdrive N8 isn't for sale anymore the difference between this ripoff and an N8 Pro is fairly significant and I could see why many people will encourage those who stole his work.
Understood, but as the Everdrive N8 Pro is over $180 compared to this at around $50, I am not sure anyone is buying this instead of the Pro. Personally, I'm too cheap for even this and just bought a nonSD based multicart for like $20. :-)
Nah you did the right thing supporting krikzz rather than this stolen cheap derivative of his work - this may function but his products are built to last with the whole 5v vs 3.3v thing being handled etc. I bought an original N8 shortly before the N8 Pro came out and eventually I'll upgrade to the N8 Pro once I get some other consoles checked off - you'll be happy you went with the N8 Pro when it still works 20+ years from now
This is a clone of Krikzz work. So the power issue is fixed here as well. I think it's right to support the original creator, but I don't believe there is a difference in the hardware quality.
2:35 got the same problem with tight fit, during cartridge plug in, bought the same cartridge today. Is there any problems with plug out? Or is it okay, to keep cartridge inside?
I can answer that. Yes, it does. A bit of a struggle to get it into the system (but that is the norm for a clone system like the AVS or the Retron), but once it was in, it was good to go.
@@8-Bit_Flashback I made a Cartridge Raspberry Pi about 5 Yrs ago with every Nes game (you have probably seen those projects). Turned out great but as you know that slight lag drives you insane in games like Mike Tysons Punch Out, Super Mario Bros, etc
I have the N8 Everdrive Clone in a clear blue cartridge. I cannot access the menu via pressing select. Is that an older OS version? Can I upgrade? Thanks.
This is not working on my front loader NES only my top loader. I just get the blinking red light yet yours seems to work fine. I tested my real everdrive classic N8 and get the same result.
@Eric-sj8rn Maybe you don't have the region set correctly on the cartridge. The instructions say something about resetting it a certain amount of times to set the correct region. But i'm not sure the number of times it has to be reset.
To copy from a micro SD at a better quality, I would have to format the new micro SD to fat32 or it would just be a copy and paste to the new micro SD. I would also like to know how many GB maximum this cartridge supports Multi game
I'm a huge believer that you get what you pay for, while this a pretty good clone, I would rather have a product that is supported. Plus the N8 Pro has 8 lines for cheat codes. I'm very happy with my N8 Pro Fami.
Great video. I may have bought this knock off 3 years ago if your video was up then. No matter, I have zero regrets with the N8 Pro and supporting Krikzz.
Great to see you back at it making videos again. I'm impressed for all these features only $50.

Any issues you had?
@@elesfinter9753 nope, it works perfectly. I love it.

I tested 2 splatterhouse games, and the first one I believe, was a hacked version, but not positive.

On the OG Hardware you mean :')

Not a bad price it's almost a hundred dollars on Amazon
Been thinking about getting a everdrive I might consider this
Daffy... DAFFY? My dear friend, Plucky Duck would be offended. lol. I have purchased this, I am glad you showed me the save states. Thank you!
We missed you dude. Welcome back
Thanks man

My clone everdrive supports famicom disk system and the extra audio in castkevania 3 for famicom. Should have tested those in this video.
How? Is your console modified as well? Otherwise half the audio channels in CV3 JP won't actually be in there.
I am curious if something like Metal Slader Glory would work on this?
That game seems to work.

Support Nintendo 😅😅😅
Do the game genie codes work?
I wish I’d seen this video before I bought an N8 Pro! 😭
It's still worth the price, though. The N8 Pro is a solid device with support for updates.

Did you try Zelda 2 or Punch Out? I had issues running those on mine.
sometimes with emu it's the file. at least in the software sense.

Does this support Famicom games as well? Also, is putting games on the SD card the same process as the regular everdrive?
Welcome back .
Thank you
You said Ninja Gaiden instead of Ninja Gaiden. Congraturations on correct pronounciation.
Some pirate mappers are not implemented.
Hows the sound on this? I got a blue multicart has 150 games and it's not bad but I feel like the sound is a bit off
Everything sounds good to me.
Do you know if this N8 clone works on the RetroUSB AVS?
I can answer that. Yes, it does. A bit of a struggle to get it into the system (but that is the norm for a clone system like the AVS or the Retron), but once it was in, it was good to go.
So basically this is a way to play all your Nes games on the Original Software, on a Crt, and have No Lag. Isn't that correct?
This device is capable of playing the MAJORITY of NES and Famicom games on the original NES console, just like the original games would have played.

Mine goes from green to blue but rarely boots to the font. Not sure what the issue is.

Seems like a contact issue with the pins. You could try using a game genie if you have one to just load the Everdrive, using no codes.
I will give it a try because I tested it with normal games and it fired right up. I changed the pins out a few years ago. @@8-Bit_Flashback
The Game Genie worked but it's not ideal 😕 did you do something to your console so it works without one?

Disable the lockout chip on the front loader and Bob's your uncle
how about everdrive heat? i just pause dr.mario and about 4 hours pause it stuck and everdrive was hot. reset fixed.
Does it play battle toads
Battletoads seems to work just fine. As well as Battletoads Double Dragon.
Are you able to put rom hacks on this?
Any idea if this works on the retrobit avs?
N8 plus work on Pal A Nes? (my nes has Rgb mod)
Does this support Mr. Gimmick?
2 questions. Can you clone the SD (By copying the files to another SD) incase it dies. I have little luck with SD cards.
Yes
@@8-Bit_Flashback sorry i forgot what my second question was LOL
@@8-Bit_Flashback How did you get Sega games on there? Are they ported games or straight Sega roms? Good video btw.

dosent work with european nes mattel version
The cartrige can be use without any mod on the console? You can save the games progress?
no console mods. The video shows save option but wasn't tested.
Yes you have one slot to save. If you want more slots you have to buy the n8 pro
I just bought one off ali express for 30$
Does it have battletoads
