BAIC Beijing X55 Full Review: And the Chinese Hits keep on coming!

- You can not compare the product BAIC launched with in South Africa back in 2016 to this, their latest offering - the Beijing X55. Its literally chalk and cheese...
So this model is vitally important for the BAIC as I see it as a complete relaunch of their brand in our market...maybe now something will finally happen at their massive production facility in Port Elizabeth!
And its another impressive offering from Chinese manufacturers... - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
What an intro, triggered some nostalgia about times when life was simple.

@@MariusRobertsProductions nope. Big business is not our friend despite the nonsense in their advertising. They will price as high as they can notwithstanding what their actual production cost is. And now with M/B and BMW extracting more and more out of vehicle sales thru subscription services, for example heated seats, it would be great to see the Chinese also moving further up the market with their offerings. Haval have given part of the market a great kick. Lastly, fully imported products such as Renault and Peugeot are able to compete against VW for instance despite being exposed to import duties illustrates my views about pricing. Now these guys need to get their dealership and servicing locations right, parts and spares available and they will be cooking on gas.

One thing i noticed on these chinese build cars are the front vents are situated strange, not fitted on the coorect space as a passenger you assume to be and i wonder the side airvents will blow the air directly to the side windows as it would foggy on cold weathers.

My issue is long term reliability which we won't be able to tell as it is 1st generation & also the price of parts will be a deciding factor for me. Saw it today spoke to the owner when I sat in it u literally think ur in a space ship. Haven't seen anything for this price that looks like this

Nice - sneaky little give away the at the end. I don' suppose you have some idea on the EV versions availability.
What I do know is that the EV battle is intense in China - BAIC we’re the leaders not too long ago but no mention of if / when that could happen.
They are more inclined to bring the next size up because the bigger cars are what sell in China BUT locally it’s the size down where they will really make inroads so hopefully they are listening to the input and advise from their local dealers

Nope, no plans to either...to be honest, am a little frustrated with their older product offering, in particular the B40 because they never properly homologated them for our market! Go take a look at the front seats - the passenger seat has all the adjustments and the driver seat has nothing because its actually a left hand drive car! But try and find a motoring journo who mentions that!
Their new products are night and day though...
Rather buy a second hand caddy alltrack.
