- Roadhog's rework is finally in Overwatch 2, and it was met with a lot of controversy. With changed to his scrap gun, Take a Breather, and a new CC ability "pig pen"; people are saying this is the best and worst change a hero has gotten.

As a tank main and hog has always been my second tank main finally glad he's gonna be able to do something
He's dog right now. They completely removed everything fun about him. His one shot ability and his breather. Everything feels so bad rn.
As a tank player and an DVA main, I'm surprised to say that his new kit brings more flavor to his previous combat experience. Usually it'd be hook, then shoot down players and nothing more. Now with his Pig Pen tactical and his healing item becoming an limited use tactical, it's more fun to play Roadhog than it was before.
I was still hoping Hog was going to get a car door as a shield.
That when it broke, you had a chance to throw the scrapped door at people for a stun. 😆
Get this man on the Dev team
He could have an invulnerable shield but he can't move with it out. Would have been much better than the junkrat trap
@@mafikdew78 Or maybe he dropped Pig Pen it is an area that gets covered in wet mud and it increases Hog's mobility while slowing the enemy team. 12 sec cooldown.
You can farm a ton of ult charge when battling hog, Kiriko pretty much counters Ana’s nades on hog, also kinda find it annoy now that u can’t stun him to cancel his healing
I actually like this cuz I never thought the one shot was oppressive. Many heroes have a way to counter or mitigate it. But the rework is a nice compromise. The one shot is easier but can only happen with a trap which has a 12 sec cooldown. I’m finding placing the trap at my feet and hooking ppl into it more effective then hooking them from the trap.
Hog can still 1 shot without trap you know?
The pig pen ability reminds me of Junkrats trap change when Overwatch 2 came out before they changed it back
I enjoyed playing hog after the "rework" he got last time and this one looks promising. As long as i don't get pulled from the other side of the map and killed with 2 buttons I'm happy

I think he is really ok like this, not op but not tier F like he was for a year, people just need to adapt
It’s more like a quality of life change, which is great, that being said. He still doesn’t really fit in a 5V5 with one tank. He is still basically designed as an off tank in 6v6.
How to make a hated hero even worst
People focus too much on mitigation. Crowd controlling enemies can be just as powerful, and Doom, Ball, and now Hog, are perfect examples of that.
Except Doom and Ball are some of the worst tanks in overwatch 2
New stuff, still can't deal with Ana well, but at least all squishies will die 13% quicker, and that trap has a lot of funny uses with other characters, we also can make a trap themed team comp, roadhog, junkrat, widowmaker, symmetra, lucio (boop trap), and Lifeweaver (the tree)
as a ball main this buff is criminal
Hopefully this ballences out the tank meta of "rock, paper orissa"
I honestly feel this makes him less viable. It nerfs his bruising ability in favor of CC, and nerfs his tanking ability which was already poor.

What truly baffles me is their original statement about removing CC, but then they continuously are adding CC?

50% to 30% so he no longer a tank that 'could' block for your team, he just a..tank that feeds when he heals
So again, Rework or not, he been gutted with nothing really worth playing. The Trap thing is not something to fear.
The damage reduction nerf was huge. I would consider the rework a net nerf
It's better because if you get stunned out of it you can still heal.

Fun Fact: Pig Pen is a skin for Roadhog, aswell as an ability!
Hog is better but still bad. If they give breather more damage reduction or faster heal then he will be viable.
Yeah, he needs like a pocket to be viable and you can’t always get a pocket and every single game
Awesome rework in my opinion.
Hog 1.0 was much better and more versatile imo. The whole way you would play him was take space while healing to build your ult, whilst poking with right click looking for the occasional hook kill. I think he will be much more vulnerable due to the damage reduction nerf. 40% down is a lot. He’s going to seriously struggle vs heroes like rein, sigma, ramm, and definitely junker queen. He will be near impossible to play in ranks past diamond with how much damage is currently in the game.
@@BLOCKKADE I think the most problem thing is Ana's nade which disables your healing ability. Only Zarya can get rid of nade effect with her bubble. And we had a lot of damage AND healing, so nerfing healing a little more and rework ana nade will solve some problems IMO.
Love how people gonna complain about roadhogs 1 shot hook using 1 cd and a bullet when Junkrat has a 1 shot using a bullet and a cd that has 2 stackable charges.

Anyone complaining about CC in a game thats 75% MOBA 25% Shooter needs to learn Cooldown Tracking.

Bro they solved the one-shot problem by ADDING IT BACK AND ADDING A MASSSIVE SLOW?! At this point it’s so broken to the point where it makes old one-shot hog look balanced😂
This seems like it puts hog in a lot better of a place. The new ability gives him a form of AoE CC that he didn't have before to draw more attention on him, and less on his team. Not to mention the synergy between it and his hook.
The Take A Breather changes are honestly the best part as it makes him far more versatile and prevents him from getting completely shut down by abilities like biotic grenade. It's far more difficult now to time a stun, hack or anti when hog goes for his breather now that it is on a charge, and not a cooldown. This can easily be used to bait out cooldowns and challenge positions better without the feeling of helplessness after he's used it.
The slow on the trap will be removed or nerfed like Sojourn ability
Tbh i dont mind if roadhog has a cc ability because he needs something to stay revelent in the game,, roadhog was the worst character to play in the game until now, in my opinion i think roadhog is perfectly balanced now with this rework

after playing it all day its, not good the rework feels meh and take a breather is bad. pig pin is not good if you die to it your bad or got outplayed.

Yeah but... the effectiveness against Ana has not changed so in my head it's objectively failed.
Pigpen should hinder since right now he can't contest the mobile tanks since it doesn't prevent the abilities.
Anti nade will still get him killed so don't bother playing Roadhog against Ana.
Yet they nerf the heck out of Mei because she mildly slowed enemies .............
For real, she's my dps main and mei has always had so many problems

Mei is a dps, road is a tank. Tanks are meant to be the main CC.

I have played roadhog since 2017. If you were good enough you could one shot nearly every DPS in the game. He was *perfect* of you were good. I will miss him but I shall never play roadhog again…I’m gonna go play a different game now…
You're never gonna play him again? Did I miss something? Is his gameplay different? It's pretty much the same except stronger.

I was a roadhog main ever since ow1 because he was super fun and then when ow2 came out he was even more fun but then they killed him and it made me realize that he was basically the only character I had a lot of fun with so I ended up quitting the game for a bit but then I hear about this rework and I think "oh boy I can't wait for blizzard to revive my boi" but seeing what he's become saddens me like take a breather is just plain worse and while his primary fire is better It's gonna take me some time to get rid of my muscle memory back when he had his alt fire and while his new trap is cool it just came out of nowhere and I know that everyone's just gonna view me as some some while because of how selfish he is and the worst part they didn't even touch his ult which was my biggest problem with him if anything that In my opinion is the thing they needed to change the most
Sorry for the rant I'm just pissed at blizzard for what they keep doing with there game

For the self heal he just need to recharge it faster and to have a bit more damage reduction and he’s good to go
