      1: this is a training technique that the Army does already, multiple fights back to back.
      2: competitive BJJ is different from military unarmed self defense differs in aggressiveness in that our job is to finish the fight as fast as possible, often that means breaking contact to gain access to a secondary weapon. Finish the fight, submit or kill the opponent before they the same to us.

      Tell me where I’m wrong? A common training technique the Army uses is a bull in the ring type exercise: multiple bouts back to back. Fact is many schools teach this because it works.
      Next is that BJJ competitions are about points, same problem with competitive karate. Points goals have ruined modern karate because they pull punches.
      The reality is competitive BJJ is a game. For soldiers it’s for keeps.

    • @jamesalafayette8255
      @jamesalafayette8255 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@soonerfrac4611 “it’s for keeps”. You’re coming off as a tool. Soldiers have combatives tournaments too, also based on points. You can search for them on this very website. Plus you can’t name a single time where a Soldier had to use grappling to save his life. Stop coming off as a 19 year old POG.

      You can go to classes that just go through the technique. You don't have to roll like this if you don't want to, but if you do, the more experienced guys will just go at your pace. Get in touch with local gyms and see if they offer beginner classes.

      You can do it! Great advice in the other comments. A good instructor and experienced students should be able to teach you techniques and let you control the level of roughness. BJJ should be about training, learning in a safe environment and everyone needs to respect the Tap. You got this.

    • @XxXGAM3RS
      @XxXGAM3RS ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont know what the gyms are like around you. But at Gracie gyms in the UK they start with GB1 for beginners that doesnt feature hard rolling, just specifics where you put techniques you've learnt into practice. GB1 will teach you a bit of fitness, self defence and fundamentals I highly recommend it! GB2 will intoduce more advanced techniques and rolling but you never have to roll if you're not comfortable or just explain to people you want to roll light and most people will roll at your pace. The majority of people I have met training BJJ have all been very nice, understanding and willing to help out. Hope you find something!

    As a guy whose pretty new to ji jutsu(but with 5 years experience with kickboxing) and being the youngest at my gym,17 yo, yet one of the guys that are above average when it comes to strength,my biggest fear is accidentally breaking someone’s bone.I accidentally dislocated one of the guy’s arm at the gym and it’s left me quite shook,never felt like grappling again,I wouldn’t say I was traumatized and me and the guy is cool cuz he knows I’m still young and learning how to control my strength but after that I just stuck to kickboxing

    This works if you have someone who wants to roll on the ground. A well-rounded striker would create a problem add his friend to the fight the problem intensifies.

    Definitely tore his meniscus there. I've done it 3 separate times and had 3 separate surgeries for it. It never hurts when it tears, but it probably gets mildly to moderately sore during certain movements ever since.

    • @thelmavan
      @thelmavan ปีที่แล้ว

      I've had surgery for torn labrum in hip and yet another surgery for torn labrum in shoulder with a bicep tenodesis. And yet a 6th surgery on knee to have my bicep femoris tenodesis.
      And no, I don't do BJJ or play sports. None of these injuries were during sports.

    With the kneebar attempt at 07.45m you had his knee isolated and kept twisting it locking his shin and the hip, like a heelhook. That was not a kneebar, but a knee twister, ouch!

    Most military guy and girls are not martial artists, if they landed in the military with no prior exp then just like anything else, it takes time. So, give them a chance, let them learn and someday they will be great.
